  1. You have to go all the way back to 2007 to have Weeks getting on base at a .352 clip against RHP And in 2006 it was 361. Weeks had a .268 BABIP vs RHP last year, thats why his OBP was only .319
  2. Cameron is a much better player than Duffy. At this point you'd think the Brewers would ask for Swisher+Kennedy to make it happen.
  3. Don't get Norton! Trend Micro is so much better its not funny
  4. He's looking to hire someone. I'll pass along the number
  5. No giving your worst hitter the most PAs is never a good idea.
  6. Melvin is really trying to get Witardo to stop saying stupid things in his blog and in his paper. Haudricort and Witardo tend to pile on Weeks even though he wasn't anywhere close to the big problem with the team. Hart, Hall and especially Suppan were much bigger issues.
  7. Of course Hudson was terrible defensively last year. That may just be due to his injury last year or his injury could have destroyed his ability. Weeks was just as valuable as Hudson last year.
  8. I think most people who realize that Weeks hit real well in 2007 realize those numbers. It just that few people realize Weeks hit well in 2007 and the second half of 2008.
  9. My brother is getting set to pave his driveway at his new house in Washington Country near West Bend and doesn't really know anybody on that side of town that does this type of work. Anyone have any input? He most likely will be doing a concrete pad by his garage and and asphalt drive to the road, about another 40 feet.
  10. Well unless you're coming home every other weekend or something, its not that big of a deal to move a desktop (now that LCD monitors exist). So if you are all mostly thinking about vacations and the occasional weekend it won't make a difference.
  11. Did anybody ever really expect Lawrie to stay a catcher?
  12. I think people need to realize that there is no way anyone can tell short of Suppan losing more velocity that McClung would be better. They project the same. If Suppan has a bad April it doesn't mean McClung will be the better pitcher in May.
  13. TW does seem to keep email addresses until the end of time. I have an email address from Adelphia cable thats like 6 years old which TW bought out and even though I haven't had an account the email still works.
  14. Talking about Weeks without mentioning the fact that he's had serious hand issues since he came to the big leagues misses a lot. Its most likely why his batting line is all over the place.
  15. Should have been a not there... No Cuba doesn't allow the athletes to freely leave

  17. The are three huge problems with that column: 1) The Brewers don't have a better option for 2B (or if you move Hall you then have a hole at 3B, at least Grudz and Durham could be part time players at 2B) 2) There is no reason to move Braun. 3) This would be the worst possible year to move Fielder. The market was flooded with all bat no glove players. Adam Dunn was left with just interest from the Nationals and he's only making $1.5 more than Prince over the next 2 years so its not like Fielder would have been this huge bargain.
  18. I'm not sure you realize how sick Higuera was in 86-88. Sheets is a tick below but its close.
  19. Its a combination of Cuba not wanting their players to leave for free and the US forbidding US companies from dealing with Cuba so posting fees can't be made.

  21. I've offered my opinion plenty including the belief that Escobar's season in AA was a lot like Iribarren's 2007 in AA and I expect Escobar's AAA in 2009 to be a lot like Iribarren's AAA season of 2008
  22. "Without researching it off the top of my head and thinking about the top prospects in the game I don't recall any spending 1 full year in AAA, let alone 2." Guy by the name of Prince Fielder spent 103 games in AAA. Adam Jones just spent his second year in AAA. Chipper Jones spent a year in AAA
  23. Escobar is more like a .330/.350 player
  24. Yeah but the Orioles are going nowhere in that division this year and Mora has been fighting off and on with the front office.
  25. Gwynn would need to be able to do more than play catch for that to happen. He probably can't be released yet.
