  1. Not only that, Hardy only played about 60% of the season anyway. He only got 427 PAs. If they would have waited a few months...
  2. And moving Hardy up early was a terrible mistake.
  3. The talent level is not the same. And Fielder spent very close to a full season in AAA (103 games).
  4. Given the Tyner signing the Brewers could trade Gwynn after he passes through waivers so the receiving team could keep him in the minors.
  5. He has to be put on a 25 man roster. If they DFA him he'd be a free agent. Which is why if he passes through waivers there still maybe a trade.
  6. But JJ was moved anyway. The team hit a slump and Yost scrapped it. I do think batting order is important but is measured incorrectly. Yes aggregate runs don't matter, and in games decided by 3 or more runs it won't matter. But it 1-2 run games giving Braun1 more PA over Hart or Hardy is a big deal.
  7. Hall has great range. Hall has a strong if inaccurate arm. He has mediocre hands. I watched like 120 games last year. I know what Hall can do. Errors are meaningless especially given how Milwaukee does score keeping.
  8. The fact that you keep pretending that Hall isn't above average defensively doesn't make it so.
  9. Why call it a career? Fangraphs said that teams should look to add him. The Marlins already are interested. If he plays and even gets one more year at minimum after this its more than worth it. If the Brewers would allow Hart to play CF Jenkins or Sheffield would be a better idea than Gwynn or Duffy.
  10. Hunter also was terrible defensive last year. To the tune of -11.3 runs by UZR. He really hasn't been good for a long time.
  11. Bill Hall's UZR breaks down his fielding. He got 6.6 runs do to his range and lost 2.2 due to errors.
  12. And the Brewers might not even owe him $400K-never saw whether the Brewers part was guaranteed or not
  13. How many innings is Gallardo projected for? They could easily have just averaged his last two season and come up with 75 innings. That would make a huge difference.
  14. And Hardy wasn't ready in 2004. Or 2005 due to injury and the Brewers ended up throwing away a year. And Hardy hit significantly better in Huntsville then did Escobar despite being a year younger. Huntsville plays neutral now where it had something ridiculous like 0.86 in 2003.
  15. Escobar's CHONE projection:.270/.303/.356 Escobar's ZiPS projection: .268/.292/.342 He's not ready.
  16. You take the 2+ extra wins Hardy brings and the draft picks instead of a pitching prospect 1-2 years away.
  17. Justice is a master of the "it was a joke column!" Meaning if the Astros start 10-20 he'll say he joked about it, jeeesh you guys just don't get it!. If they start 20-10 he'll point to this post as to how he predicted it.
  18. Actually the media have been pushing the Pirates and KC as the next Rays based on the fact that because the Rays really sucked and are now good other teams that really suck must soon be good too!
  19. The Brewers had three people last year, Cameron, Hardy and Kendall.
  20. Yes the scary thing is Richard Justice is held up to be a national expert on baseball.
  21. "Anxiety Disorder"=Depression from the Marlins blowing out his arm? At least Willis is getting paid.
  22. So when the Brewers'#5 faces the other teams #1 its good because the Brewers get their #1 against other teams' #5! I'll let that sink in.
  23. Gwynn has no choice since it would be his first DFA.
  24. Check out their website and you'll get a sense of what they have. They are cheaper especially when they send out their coupon books. It dpends if you are close enough that you can take advantage of their produce, meat, and dairy enough and how how much storage space you have.
