  1. Brad Nelson is already here
  2. Do you know where you are going to go? If you do check into what they recommend. Also check what the campus computer store has, given that is about the only place to get any type of discount on Macs you may wish to wait a bit. One big thing to keep in mind is that Macs are a much more tempting target for theft.
  3. No it would be much less. Carl Pavano just got ignored as a Yankee.
  4. I know, the point is that he didn't pitch poorly due to injury he pitched poorly all year long. He had two month of giving up as many runs as innings pitched.
  5. I physically can't use most laptop keyboards. I have an ulnar nerve problem that requires a pretty strict ergonomic setup to keep it from reoccurring.
  6. And when did this injury occur? When he stunk in May? When he stunk in September?
  7. So it may look like I need to do soemthing I've been putting off and end up getting a new computer. I'm looking to get a decent setup for about $600-650 (and no I'm not getting a mac). So I'm looking at these 2 at costco: http://www.costco.com/Bro...hse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC| and http://www.costco.com/Bro...hse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC| I feel like I'd be better off buying the one for $500 with the slower processor and spending $100 on a better power supply and a graphics card than buying the $600 with the Q9300. Any thoughts?
  8. Yes, but this is looking at things in a vacuum in my opinion. There are other factors. Dunn is in his prime while Cameron could decline. Cameron is under contract for one more year while Dunn could be signed to a multi-year deal. Finally, Dunn's value would be much higher if he was at first base as opposed to the outfield because his bad defense wouldn't be nearly as detrimental. I'm only interested in Dunn as a first baseman though, which would make comparing Cameron and Dunn a moot point. The point is people keep talking about signing Dunn and trading Cameron to free up money. That just makes the team significantly worse next season.
  9. Cameron is a better player than Dunn. It isn't even that close. Cameron's value the last three years: $18.1m, $10.2m, $17.4m. Dunn: $7.4m, $13.3m, $8.2m.
  10. Suppan's value according to fangraphs last season: -$400K. BP had him at 3 runs above replacement. No, objectively Suppan and McClung are pretty much on even terms at this point,
  11. Weeks based upon about $4m a win would be a $8-10m player. Assuming 50% of that for arby means about 4-5m
  12. Weeks actually is asking for too little given his value. His value should likely be closer to $4m though he'd never get that. Hart after last year does seem to be asking for too much.
  13. Cabrera made $7.4m his first year. Pujols got $7m under his contract for his first arby year.
  14. Yep, the Nats have a huge market to draw from. And keep in mind they have no competition to the south until you get to Atlanta.
  15. Actually he's worth about $12m per but the marginal win value seems now to be falling below $4m per.
  16. Suppan and McClung aren't that different in talent and so you have to take a chance that Suppan has a great year and then you can dump his last year (even if you eat a few million)
  17. The biggest issue for me right now is getting my mother to realize that browsers have tabs and not to close the entire browser window when you get a pop up.
  18. Dish is significantly cheaper than DirecTV, especialy after the first year when DirecTV's rate skyrockets up. The biggest thing is that Dish gives you more package choices so you don't have to take all the non-premium channels to get HD DVR service. And if you do get the top tier, they include all Encore movie channels as part of the tier.
  19. You keep acting like there is this huge difference between wild card teams and teams that win the world series when there absolutely isn't. The Phillies and the Brewers were pretty even over the course of last year. The Cardinals won 83 games in 2006 and their banner is hanging. The Cubs won 97 games last year and got swept by an 84 win team. Sure that might be Yo or even more likely he'll be TGJ. But even if he is Yo those 3 wins could come on a 72 win team. So not only does the pick have to pan out it has to help a team thats actually competitive.
  20. Yes its those evil agents who kept from their players the complete collapse of teams spending despite the Mets and Yankees getting new stadiums, the Nats finally able to spend and Cubs seeming to get new ownership.
  21. But then again you think the Sabathia deal was a bad thing. If Melvin wouldn't give up a 2nd round pick for 3 wins this year he's crazy.
  22. It was 2006 and he was Type A (he also got screwed with the Red Sox earlier). He had a 2 year deal set with the Padres but as soon as the Brewers offered arby the Padres withdrew it to keep their pick.
  23. Is McClung's contract on the border of being cut? Cutting him in spring training would save $1m.
  24. Except most teams won't give up a 1st pick for Sheets. None of the protected teams will give up a first round pick. Any team that has already signed a Type A agent won't lose a 1st round pick.
