  1. Villy did not have the right size lead at 3B. That's Sveum's job isn't it?
  2. I don't see Yost keeping his job if the Brewers are more than 2 games below .500 at the end of May. This current losing streak goes 10 games and he's toast then.
  3. The 3rd time through is also when pitchers tire. You get to over 85 pitches and velocity starts to drop. Over 100 pitches and it drops even further. Pitch counts aren't just to prevent injury but also a signpost for when a pitcher can be expected to start faltering.
  4. The fact that everyone is doing poorly is why a manager change might be in order. It points to something systematic. Now it could just be Midwest has suspended serving chocolate chip cookies on their charter flights to save money but I think its probably something more baseball related.

  6. You were complaining about how it was only Brewer fans saying the Astros aren't very good. Except that it isn't. there is a very good reason to think the Astros aren't very good and it has to do with their pitching being terrible and having bad players at 3B, CF, and C and hoping for average at 2B.
  7. What unbiased level? The Astros have no starting pitching. They are still projected as a 74 win team by BP.
  8. Its not so much this year but whether the Pirates think they have a shot over the next few. Three pitchers that could be had I think are Gorzelanny, Snell, and Greinke.
  9. It happend twice this past offseason in the Bedard and Haren trades.
  10. So you trade the extra OF-1B who'll likely take 2-3 months to get used to playing in the major leagues.
  11. You aren't fans of the Reds
  12. How does trading Fielder do anything to help the Brewers? Why would any team want Hart if they are trading away a pitcher with years left? If the Royals don't believe they can win with Greinke in the next three years why would adding Hart for three years make it worthwhile? And making the major league team worse isn't a good idea.
  13. Seriously,if you never heard of pitchers developing blister problems you haven't seen much non Brewer baseball. Blisters have screwed up many pitcher's season because they seem to keep coming back once they start up.
  14. Mota is one Shouse lucky day away (Shouse got out a right handed hitter with the bases loaded against Cincy) from looking much worse
  15. Joe Dilion vs RH's in Nashville in 2007: .322/.408/.605 Dillon is a vastly superior hitter
  16. Yeah but they update their PECOTA standings to replace Yo's innings?
  17. Except I doubt he'd be available until July. The problem is that while the Padres have stunk, they expected to at least contend for teh Wild Card this season. Its hard to jettison everything after one month. Right now you have to focus on bad teams that pretty much knew they are bad and are going to stay that way. So no Mariners or Padres or Reds but maybe KC, Pittsburgh, Washington, Texas, and San Francisco.
  18. The Brewers do not need another right handed hitter when they have two left handed hitters available
  19. With the game on the line and two lefties in the pen Yost still manages to allow Berkman to hit left handed
  20. Sheets low for innings pitched (at all levels) was 129 in 2006 outside of his partial rookie season. Manny's max is 138 in 2003 in Beloit And I don't know how many times it must be mentioned, Bush is not a marginal 5th starter. He's league average making him a decent 3 and a great 4.
  21. The Rays have a decent shot to make the playoffs. Kazmir won;t be available unless they are really behing in July and given how Yankees keep getting hurt, it seems unlikely that they'd be out of the wild card chase.
  22. Nobody has hit like LaPorta because top hitting prospects aren't in the Southern League at 23. And LaPorta's defense is certainly a question mark. If he's Adam Dunn out there that makes a huge difference.
  23. No McClung didn't lose those games, that was never the point. The point is that he pitched poorly in those games. The fact that he walked 4 but only gave up one run is more luck than skill. McClung is still just as walk happy as ever and that makes a poor long reliever because you never know when he's going to have a 40 pitch inning.
  24. And except for the Marlins game where he gave up a home run and walked a man. And the latest Cubs game where he walked 4 in 3 innings
