  1. Not sure how blocked he actually is. Rutschmann is 27 and a free agent in 2029. Basallo is 20 and has yet to be added to the 40 man roster. If Basallo repeats half a season at AAA next year before coming up as 2/3 catcher, he can split time with Rutschamann in 2027, and then the Orioles can trade one year of Rutschmann with a 23 year old Basallo taking over in 2028.
  2. Not sure how much that was Baltimore versus the Brewers. The Brewers wanted Hall because of the potential he has; but there were always red flags, from his lack of innings, to his control issues, to his age, to Baltimore deciding to move him to the pen. The Brewers wanted someone with a really high ceiling and went with Hall for that reason. Ortiz was a solid second piece but projected to be a utility player (Ortiz is also older than you think. While this is his age 26 season, he turns 27 on July 14 basically making this about an old as you can get age 26 season.)
  3. Now what the Falcons gave up...
  4. There are concerns about a knee issue that have come up
  5. Also stupid since they paid a 1st round price for Watson
  6. Good pick given the huge need the Packers have but I am also assuming Johnson's medical issues are severe
  7. Sounds like the Packers are trying to trade back, see if the Giants are serious about getting Sanders
  8. Off ball linebacker in round 1 is just such a waste of resources when you have so many holes
  9. A #5 will almost never be allowed to go through the order 3 times.
  10. Got our Colin Rea replacement!
  11. I think its more panic than prospect shopping.
  12. I am not a huge draft guy. I do not dive into mock drafts like some. I just feel if there is a 20 year old atheletic semi-project DE available Gute will not be able to help himself. So if Scourton is there he will be the pick
  13. Except he didn't need to be the 26th man, all he needed was a 40 man slot.
  14. not watching was pitch 3 (ball 2) to Contreras that bad as seen on MLB.com?
  15. How many pitches is Peguero going to go? Guess Weeks decided he had better things to watch
  16. Well it had been a few innings since the Brewers gave up a home run
  17. The White Sox are carrying a no hitter into the 6th
  18. I thought there was a $10,000 fee or something for the waiver process? Meaning most cash trades are really good will in nature.
  19. Usually it's equal to the cost of a waiver claim
  20. Center field
  21. I think people are overestimating the cost of Mayo here. At best right now he is a FV 55 prospect given the serious concerns about his defensive position (and if we avoid some of the prospect inflation MLB pipeline tends to grade out). That of course is still a great prospect! A FV 55 position prospect is worth $46 million. Misiorowski is a FV 55 pitching prospect which has a value of $34 million. That is the main piece. A second piece would be Lara and then maybe Quintana. So one top prospect, one good prospect and one decent prospect. Two top prospects is too much. You could also replace Misiorowski with Frelick who is probably the most replaceable player on the MLB roster since he is playing out of position.
  22. Canha has a wRC+ of 124 against left handed pitching in 2024 and 125 in 2023. He is a decent 1B glove and can fill in the OF in a pinch. Bauers has had 1744 plate appearances to produce a -1.3 WAR with a career 84 wRC+ and should not be in the OF. I don't get what more he has to disprove.
