  1. Entirely speculation. He could be upset with the lack of endorsement deals, progress on an extension, the way they never returned his calls, etc. It makes sense to change now because he is about to sign a major deal and he should have an agent that he prefers to do that.
  2. Couldn't be more ehh. Nice bat but he plays 1B/3B, the only two positions the Brewers could actually fill internally with prospects. Might as well trade Green now.
  3. The Brewers haven't been informed and found out when everyone else did supposedly.
  4. This is incorrect. He was not "caught" anymore than a suspected whomever is arrested by the Milwaukee PD on suspicion of whatever. It has to be proven in court. He apparently failed 50% of his drug test this time, and last I knew, a test that is made inconclusive when a subsequent test is negative. Vilify all you want, I'll stand behind him No it really isn't like that. A positive test is basically a guilty verdict. Now its a stupid way to do things, but drug panic is a stupid thing in this society. Braun right now is basically a guy in prison trying to prove his innocence (yeah he technically isn't serving his sentence yet but it flows better this way). He now has the burden of proof to show that something nefarious occurred or that the sample got tainted. A second draw unless it happened very shortly after the first (which given the pace of lab results is unlikely) will mean very little. I don't get why ESPN has become a villain here. MLB has some employees or some lab/legal contractors leaking things to ESPN almost certainly in violation of their contracts and perhaps even violations of the law. This is a big story and ESPN did do due diligence. It's true that Braun failed a PED test and is facing a 50 game suspension. There is nothing to sue about.
  5. Yeah, if it's been known for a month, wouldn't immediately have been the better time? I'm guessing the writers would have had some kind of emergency meeting to reconsider and change their MVP votes.Well they had to get everything together. This isn't something you run with unless you are positive about your sources. And Saturday night isn't a big ratings night, likely they thought someone else was about to break the story.
  6. to put it in the most simple terms: by taking steroids.unless he has menopause.well other things can cause elevated testosterone levels but yeah unless they had a bad baseline for him (people can have naturally high testosterone levels) its either a steroid or something that acts similar to a steroid.
  7. Will Carroll just reported it was elevated testosterone levels
  8. As long as we get a better haul this time, I'm fine with that comparison. We got a great haul for Overbay, if we could get the same for KRod it's be a steal. Pace certain posters, the Brewers got a cost controlled starter and a solid pitching prospect. The prospect (Jackson) busted but Bush provided great value for his years here for the money he was paid.
  9. Aram turned down a guaranteed $15m for 2012 from the Cubs. He's not signing a 2 year deal for $20m unless the market completely collapses.
  10. Weeks numbers were fine until he got injured and Yost kept running him out there even though he couldn't hit or field. OPS by month in 2005: .785, .784, .716, .641.
  11. If you sign Furcal you probably had to sign Gonzalez anyway since Furcal can easily miss half his contract (people talk about the injury risk with Reyes..). And Furcal was terrible last year so his future productivity isn't assured.
  12. Pretty sure you can't cut free agent eligible players. Their entire salary is guaranteed.
  13. He hits better than he bunts. I'd rather have him swing away and use his power than try to bunt his way on which he can't do.
  14. Morgan is a very good defensive CFer. He isn't Gomez but Gomez is outstanding. McGehee and Ramirez are likely very similar defensively with Ramirez being older and so a bigger chance of just breaking down. He really should be looking for a 1B job.
  15. Its actually a pretty good bet that Yankees might have been actually blocking another team (*cough* Red Sox *cough*)
  16. Well it would be a repeat of the Cubs Castro/Ramiorez combination of last year.
  17. I for one thinks it's quite insane to spend $2 million Just to talk to someone. What a horrible system and if I were Mark and DM, there's no way I would ever entertain an idea that would make me spend that much money just to be able to speak to someone about a deal. Horrible x Infinity! The posting fee is usually refundable if you don't sign the player
  18. Who plays SS for the 80 games Furcal misses? Ramirez is a 1B at this point given his poor defense, age and injury issues. I don't really see how he fits with the Brewers outside of wanting to stay around Chicago.
  19. Yeah that sounds like ESPN pulling stuff out of its ass. You know like locating where Wisconsin is
  20. Reyes played great for the Mets. He's coming off a spectacular year.
  21. Reyes is a 5.5-6 win player when healthy. $17-18m per year is a steal compared to Fielder.
  22. Jack Moore just retweeted a retweet from NPB tracker linking to a story from sanspo.com saying the Brewers will bid on Nakajima http://www.sanspo.com/mlb.../mla1112020501000-n1.htm
  23. In other Dodgers trying to waste money news, Adam Kennedy has been giving $800,000 to be terrible. Is Colletti purposely trying to be fired?
  24. Marcum's 4 wins in 2012>Smoak's1.5 additional wins over Gamel for four years
  25. What part of a .227/.316/.385 line is attractive? Smoak hasn't really hit outside of Round Rock which is very frightening. No way do I trade Marcum for him.
