  1. Still think he is on the hot seat as this is a common move for coaches/managers on the last year of their deal. Kind of like when the Brewers picked up Gallardo's option, it doesn't mean he will be with the Brewers for the picked up year.
  2. Perez did an interview with Tim Allen that indicated the Brewers can pay him $100,000 and then he could opt out May 1.
  3. Thanks Reilly for compiling the information and for the great write ups on each prospect. The one after the draft should be difficult with limited graduates and lots of deserving players.
  4. Agree with MNbrews prediction except I don't see Schafer making the team. I think they go with the better offensive player regardless of position and think it will be Clark. Rogers would be another option but I think the Brewers are hoping he becomes the solution at third and he needs more time there in the minors if that is the case.
  5. Wooten is pitching real well. Just read an article a couple of days ago regarding how he had some of the worst luck last year and is a guy who could have a bounce back year. Wouldn't mind Thornburg at AAA to replace Nelson at some point if he struggles. Don't think Henderson makes the team, not sure if he goes on the DL or optioned to the minors.
  6. Yes, the Brewers system right now is a little bittersweet. It kind of stinks there are not better prospects at the upper levels, but pretty much all of the top prospects will not be playing for the Brewers this year so the system as a whole will continue to get better and gaining respect as long as there is not a desperate trade this summer.
  7. Looking forward to the Horizon league championship tonight, really think Green Bay will win with Valparaiso having one of their best players hurt the game before. Would love to see Keifer Sykes in the tournament. Hard to believe that Green Bay has not been there in 19 years.
  8. Never heard of him but thanks for the heads up as it will be another guy I keep an eye on this year.
  9. Agree with you on the first part but not the second. It will be a struggle for him to hit over 200, he is Reynolds with less power.
  10. I wouldn't worry about individual ballots as the more people that vote the less one ballot matters and the rankings are taken as a whole and overall it will be a good listing representative of the entire system. With that said, Kentrail Davis isn't in the Brewers system anymore so he should probably be replaced.
  11. I guess I wouldn't mind Clark as the last guy on the roster as Schafer/Peterson are left handed as well. Would actually be kind of nice to have a pinch hitting power option on both the right side (Jimenez) and left side (Clark). Clark is already fairly old so it is not like more time at AAA is really going to help him all that much.
  12. I hope they don't, they robbed another deserving team full of kids the opportunity to win or go to the Little League World Series. Most, if not all of those kids knew they were playing with teammates that really shouldn't be there. Lesson learned hopefully for those kids not to cheat in the future.
  13. Record:76-86 Playoffs: No Mvp: Gomez Surprise: Fiers, Segura, Broxton, Davis Disappointment: Jimenez, K-Rod, Lind and Gennett against lefties, Ramirez production and injuries All stars: Lucroy, Gomez Bold prediction: None of the upcoming free agents are traded by the July 31 deadline.
  14. All I have to do is read the title of the thread and realize this is going to be a pretty bad topic that goes nowhere. Calling Gomez dumb is pretty dumb in my opinion.
  15. 1. O. Arcia 2. T. Taylor 3. M. Reed 4. C. Coulter 5. C. Knebel 6. D. Denson 7. T. Williams 8. B. Diaz 9. J. Lopez 10. M. Harrison 11. N. Pierre 12. G. Lara 13. W. Wang 14. T. Jungmann 15. T. Wagner 16. J. Gatewood 17. D. Williams 18. K. Medeiros 19. K. Wren 20. S. Matos 21. T. Cravy 22. M. Diplan 23. M. Blazek 24. M. Diaz 25. B. Hall Notes: I did not vote for anybody that will be 27 during the season, just a personal preference. Would have voted Sardinas 3 if he was eligible. Was more favorable to players with high on base as the Brewers could really use more people like that. Really like Denson a lot and tempted to put him even higher but I will wait one more year and see how he does this year. Will look forward to reading the AA box scores every morning, a lot of potential there.
  16. Disagree, obviously Duke and or Virginia will be losing so a Big ten tournament win should secure a 1 seed for the Badgers.
  17. I would definitely be in favor of adding Hassan if they think he can play 1B and have him face some lefties instead of Lind. Would probably rather have him than Peterson/Schafer. I like Peterson but don't see him getting a lot of playing time with Lind there.
  18. For those that ordered did any of you get your tickets and vouchers for the Lucroy game yet? I received them for the Uecker game but not the Lucroy so a little concerned.
  19. I'm sure most fans would prefer a Hank the Dog experience to the Bud Selig Experience so I wouldn't rule out the statue. The Brewers are going to run Hank the Dog into the ground more than the 82 Brewers.
  20. Can somebody with ESPN access list Keith Law's list of top Brewers prospects or is that not allowed?
  21. I don't really think that Davis is the future but think Davis could bring in another decent asset in the future, more than Parra ever would. Either way it is in the Brewers best interest for Davis to succeed. Even if Parra has a good year I can't see him ever bringing back much more than a Haniger type player in return at the deadline.
  22. Made the most sense, wasn't likely to get claimed at this point and they can just add him back to the 40 man after the season if he impresses in the minors this year.
  23. I do not see Jimenez as the heir apparent to Ramirez. Even if the Brewers did a complete rebuild in 2016 I would rather them trade for a younger third baseman. Can't see Jimenez ever hitting at a level that would justify him being a starting third baseman in the majors. As a backup he might do okay as a power righty off the bench that can give Ramirez a day off here or there.
  24. Here is a link to a well written article and comments about K-Rod and the conflict that some fans have with him and the team. Link
  25. I'm guessing the Brewers are pretty much just hoping one of Rogers/Jimenez/Segura shows that they deserve to be the starting 3B in 2016.
