  1. I think Lowrie will get more than some here think. I think Lowrie could cost $10 million which means it is going to cost the same to have Lowrie or Ramirez and with Ramirez it is just one year.
  2. I'm at the other end with Knight, reminds me a lot of Jennings and don't really want them signing Knight to a large contract. Best case scenario would be another team buying into Knight and the Bucks getting some nice assets in return.
  3. It is also subject to ticket availability so even if you hold off until game 7 of the world Series in the year 2028 you still may be denied because there are no tickets available.
  4. Very true, but I think more teams will have open spots once free agency starts.
  5. Since the Bucks play tonight I am going to predict a 30 win season but I think they could do even better and perhaps fight for a playoff spot. In the NBA one or two guys can really make a difference and based on the little I have seen of the preseason it appear that Parker may be even better than I initially thought. If he plays well, Giannis improves and gets a little more aggressive and Sanders stays on the court it could get interesting.
  6. I think some complain though because it is no longer fun trying to collect every bobblehead, it is more of a job or a chore. Being a completest can be exhausting. The casual fan still does care about the free bobblehead though. Attendance on a bobble Sunday for the Brewers is about 9,000 greater per game on average than a non bobble Sunday.
  7. Rogers is actually a little younger than Jimenez so the organization must not be convinced Rogers can play 3B. Think I would rather have Rogers in the lineup than this guy if Ramirez departs.
  8. Thanks Haas and agent39. It is very interesting to get an agent's view on why a players resigns with a club. Hopefully Barreda is the next Jeffress and can help the Brewers bullpen the second half of the year.
  9. You are preaching to the choir, I don't really want them to get Ramirez back at $14 million, $15 million or a multi year deal. However, it appears highly likely the Brewers will be picking up their end and I just don't want them to get crazy here and get convinced by the agent to sign him for multiple years or risk losing him.
  10. Can Barreda still be selected in the rule 5 draft? I assume nobody would or else Barreda would have just signed with that team but just curious.
  11. I really hope the Brewers avoid the temptation to sign him for two years. If he is having a bad year then they don't have to keep him around in 2016 and if he is having a good year then they can trade him much easier at the deadline in 2015.
  12. I don't know that Kansas City won the trade it was just that they made the Greinke trade to get prospects and then got Shields to win it all. If the Brewers traded a good player when they were bad and received good prospects in return that reached their potential in 2011 it might have led to a World Series. It was a two step process for KC.
  13. You can do a combination of what Briggs is indicating and Ticketmaster. If the ticket prices are dropping enough go to ebay or stubhub and pull the trigger and in the meantime check Ticketmaster as well. I understand why you are scared to wait but that is also the reason why you tend to get the best deals the week before the game, people like to plan for the game and make sure they have a ticket. Too bad it wasn't one more week as tickets to the Falcons game are available at face.
  14. I would have to think about it more but would certainly stay away from Brewer retreads like Hart and Aoki. Going after the combination of Morse/Sandoval doesn't seem like a bad idea. If getting rid of Gallardo is necessary to stay within budget and get Morse/Sandoval then I am okay with it. Would be much more comfortable getting rid of Gallardo if Thornburg showed signs of being healthy.
  15. If you have the patience wait until the week of the game and go to ticketmaster a couple of times a day. They almost always release tickets and sell them at face there.
  16. Hardy can be crossed off the list, really think it will be Segura again. With Arcia arriving in the not too distant future there is no reason to spend at the SS position.
  17. Really, I would say that Aoki looks more silly offensively and defensively more often than anybody in baseball.
  18. Well they fell short but Harper impressed me and he looked like their best player so I don't see this happening unless someone up high really dislikes Harper.
  19. I am actually rooting for a Kansas City/St Louis World Series at this point. I think it would be the most interesting matchup with the rivalry and would love to see St Louis lose to Kansas City again, maybe this time KC could win on a call overturned because of replay. Seeing Yost managing the series would also be fun because as noted previously he is not afraid to retaliate. A brawl in the World Series should increase the ratings.
  20. Heck no but I can't stand the guy so there is already a built in bias against him.
  21. I think offering the QO would be worst case. Nobody is giving a first for him and paying $15 million might be twice his market. Best case is Brewers pick up option and he declines. Brewers then free up $14 million.
  22. I'm still not 100% positive that Melvin is safe. We hear all the time about the dreaded vote of confidence from the owner. I actually hope Melvin is gone, he has almost reached the end of his career anyways, would rather have the new GM pick his own manager and if Melvin sticks I assume he is going to make a horrible trade with prospects in the off season to win in 2015.
  23. The good thing about the wall of honor is they don't even have to consider anymore retiring the number of guys like Hoffman and Sheffield as they get an automatic selection to the wall when they make the hall of fame.
  24. Maybe, it is the type of move I think Melvin is willing to make.
  25. I think his point still stands as they didn't take the qualifying offer because they assumed somebody would give them a multi year deal. Unfortunately for them nobody did because of the draft pick. If Ramirez doesn't pick up his side of the option I think he would get a multi year deal because it would be a bad business decision to give him the qualifying offer as he is not a 14-15 million dollar player anymore. Therefore, no draft pick attached to him.
