  1. Hey Axford, Larry Bird called and wants his points per game average back.
  2. I actually know a couple people that say they enjoy the on field instructors, so apparently there is an audience for it. A very, very limited audience. If somebody wants on the field instuctionals go buy the Fred Mcgriff tapes on ebay. If somebody is willing to sit through a three hour game they don't want some lame instructional.
  3. I agree with you on that, I have yet to find a person that actually watched the field instructional, who thinks that is a good idea?
  4. It was over the top but at some point the discussion will have to take place, no matter what people may want to believe he did have a bad year last year. Hopefully it was injury related and he will have a good year again in 2013.
  5. Weeks is having a bad game today but has been pretty good this year compared to the rest of the team. If he doesn't have a good year this year I think the Brewers will make sure he doesn't get 600 plate appearances in 2014 so his option doesn't vest for 2015.
  6. There is definite truth to that but the Taker match is once a year. WWE is a corporation and has to answer to stockholders on a regular basis, they are trying to get good ratings every week on RAW/Smackdown and have to get people to buy their PPV every month. On top of that they are trying to start their own network. I just don't think they will ever have the patience to bring meaning back or only having one champion in the company.
  7. Not crud, it is one of the reasons along with poor pitching and injuries.
  8. I don't know if it would be a huge loss even if somebody picked Gindl up as there are a number of young, cheap players blocking him at the major league level already(Davis/Prince/Schafer). With the injuries and losses piling up it is probably time to put Halton/Morris on the 40 man. The Brewers have had some bad luck with the injuries but I hope they realize that it is a major turnoff to the fans when they see Yuni and Gonzalez in the middle of the lineup every day. Playoff spots and divisions are not won in April but seasons can certainly be lost by the end of April. It will be nice when they get Braun/Ramirez/Hart back in the middle of the lineup but it might not matter if they are 10 games under .500.
  9. Win number 37 last night, at the very least they made my trip to Vegas in May much more fun.
  10. The magic would not have a problem getting a 4-7 pick if they offered Harris. He is a stud and future star no doubt. I can't imagine gm's taking guys like Porter, Bennett, Zeller or whoever else over Harris. Harris is cheaper as well and depending on the player also younger.
  11. I hope Axford can turn it around but if not it would be great if Figaro did well as the closer. He would be a cheap option for a couple of years at a time when they could use some low salary guys.
  12. Rams, I just have to say I appreciate your recent analyis of the Brewers prospects and your rankings. The Power 50 is what initially got me interested in this site and helped me get through some of those lean Brewer years. I have missed it greatly the last couple of years and hope you continue to update your rankings through the year.
  13. I tried looking for it a few years ago but gave up. With Amazon, ebay. Craigslist, etc it shouldn't be that difficult but I had no luck.
  14. This is not absurd negativity, this is a thread about the lineup and noting that Gonzalez is batting 5th and playing first is a problem with the lineup. If you want to talk about Gallardo go in some pitching thread.
  15. She does not seek attention at the actual game though, which seems to be the complaint. If she goes on Facebook, twittet, sports radio I don't really care because I can ignore that, not follow her, not interact with her. I have never heard or seen her outside the actual game.
  16. Not sure why you would have a problem with Amy as she watches the whole game and keeps score, never saw her wave to the camera or on her cell during the game. She is the female version of Bob.
  17. Harris with 30 last night and 29 the game before. It makes me so sad because they had him and it is really the only way for them to get a star but they made the horrible decision to not play him and then dump him.
  18. You rebuild by collecting assets, which include young players cap space and high draft picks (see Houston). To rebuild, you don't sign over paid middle of the road veterans to high dollar contracts. Those are the guys you sign as the final piece to the puzzle, not the first piece. (See Salmons, John; Gooden, Drew; Ellis, Monta; Jennings, Brandon) That is what rebuilding is but like I said not what they plan on doing after the trade they made.
  19. If they let them all walk though there is nothing really to rebuild with. They would have Henson, Sanders and a middle of the round pick in a poor draft. If they would have kept Harris and Lamb it would be possible, especially if they drafted a point guard but I think the trade prevented any sort of rebuild.
  20. He only started about 40 games with the Royals last year and wouldn't be surprised to see the same with the Brewers but that translates to 1-2 starts a week. His days of starting 5 days a week are over, no matter who the manager is.
  21. The wind always makes it worse though, especially when tailgating. It isn't too windy today.
  22. I don't know if it is necessarily rebuilding but they will have to start playing younger players where they have not committed large salary. They probably won't extend Hart, giving Morris a chance to start and 2014 may very well be Weeks last year and then Scooter Gennett will take his place. They may go with Schafer or Davis in the not too distant future as well so that they have at least one low salary guy in the outfield starting in 2015. Therefore starting in 2015 they will have their 1B, 2B, SS, RF making little and probably 2-3 starters as well if a couple of Burgos/Thornburg/Peralta/Hellweg/Jungman pan out.
  23. The first part makes sense but if they had any confidence in Halton they just add him to the 40 man and never sign Yuni because you would have Gonzalez to back up SS.
  24. Already a thread for this: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=29475
