  1. Well he better pass first because he certainly can't shoot.
  2. It is kind of interesting that appeals could be in September as that would really mess with the playoffs. Will playoff teams with knowledge of a player appealing try to make a trade as insurance or just hope it drags out until after the playoffs?
  3. I don't know, I see PG/SG/SF all being worse, PF being better with Henson hopefully stepping up and center being about the same with hopefully no regress from Sanders. Mayo was their big signing but I just don't think he is that good and as much as it pains me I think Ellis is better, Mayo seemed to disappear after the all star break.
  4. They have a real good opportunity to tank and be top 5 bad with Ridnour as their starting pg.
  5. I actually think it is going to be pretty funny when Braun has his statue within a few feet of Selig's.
  6. Nice to see that Gindl kept on playing well after getting sent down, hit .400 after going back to AAA.
  7. I'm sure we'll end up seeing Teague and Ridnour on the floor at the same time during the year. However, I would think they would want to sign a SG/SF as the backup at both positions are inexperienced.
  8. Feel bad for the fans in Nashville that have to continue to watch horrible starting pitching.
  9. Well even if Teague ends up a Buck they still appear to be below the minimum salary so there will probably be another free agent signing or trade to acquire another player (salary) after this. As noted in a previous post they would have to pay their current players the difference if they don't hit the minimum but that would just look bad so don't see that happening. Looking at their roster it almost looks like a half a tank. They probably won't make the playoffs, maybe be in the 8-10 range, hopefully get lucky in the lottery. They are signing players but not for really long term or large amounts of cash. They will have plenty of cap space next year again if they really need it.
  10. I don't really know what constitutes a long man but Sanchez has pitched more than 1 inning in 17/29 games he has pitched in this year so if there is a need to pitch multiple innings it should not be a problem.
  11. Doubt the Brewers would do that but security may need to pay extra attention around the statue as there may be angry Brewers fans who don't want the statue there anymore.
  12. Don't have to assume, they were a 96 win team based on actual wins.
  13. I would agree that there are many other major leaguers that would make that catch but there are many players that can hit home runs but the walk off home run is still exciting. It is still a very exciting play by Gomez because I can't ever recall a game saving catch like that one that actually ended the game and would have resulted in the other team taking the lead if it wasn't caught. If somebody has other examples of when this happened I would love to see them because I can't remember a single one.
  14. One of the good things about the steroid era is that 500 HRs is no longer a guarantee for the hof, heck 700 isn't a guarantee. I imagine Dunn never gets elected no matter how many he hits.
  15. Francisco has been a nice pickup, not only has he shown power but for the first time in his career he is walking on a regular basis.
  16. Too bad the Blue Jays were not doing better, maybe they would be willing to trade Lawrie back to the Brewers.
  17. I think you may be correct about that. With Gomez though he actually deserves a gold glove versus others that have breakthrough offensive years and end up with a gold glove in the process.
  18. I thought that Drew Gooden would be a likely choice to amnesty this year but based on the cap room and number of players the Bucks have they might not. I know every NBA has to reach a minimum level on the cap but not sure if Gooden would count toward the minimum if they amnestied him.
  19. Based on your last couple of posts just wanted to let you know the Bucks didn't actually get a player in return, Butler is going to the Suns.
  20. If they do a sign and trade wouldn't they have to match salaries though? Looking at their roster if they send Bledsoe they would have to send another guy then because Bledsoe makes about 2.9 million.
  21. I like them taking the best player available but don't have faith that they will let them develop and will trade them away like Harris and every second rounder they seem to get.
  22. As mentioned by people that defended Weeks, this is a small sample size and not indicative of the player he is. Hopefully the recent hot streak is enough to get somebody to take Weeks off the Brewers hands as he is still done as an everyday player.
  23. I think they still have a chance to suspend if the documents are dated before his failed test but if it is after he could still use the consulting story. If MLB could somehow show a connection before the drug test I would finally get off the fence and say that Braun took something. If not then there will always be doubts in my mind.
  24. I agree that it is time to bring up Halton and release Yuni. It made sense to ride the hot hand with Yuni for a couple of weeks but he is far removed from that now. With Francisco able to play third and Weeks/Scooter at second the Brewers don't really have anything to lose at this point. They can still play Francisco at first against righties if they want and then let Halton play when Ramirez takes his days off. It would be nice to at least get a feel if Halton can play in the majors and potentially be part of a platoon at first in the future and also backup in the outfield.
  25. I think after the Greinke trade last year they may be more willing to sell as they were able to fill a huge hole at SS and improved the pitching depth in the minors. If they could fill their future hole at third and improve their pitching again in the process I think Melvin would be more than willing to make some moves.
