One guy not mentioned is Devin Williams. It seems like the Brewers make the playoffs every year but due to injury or other issues Williams has never been able to make an appearance. Crossing my fingers nothing happens between now and the playoffs.
I'm not one to defend the Vikings but it is getting ridiculous how much leeway tackles are getting without getting called for a false start. This led to a TD.
Yeah, don't see any way they carry 13 pitchers but could possibly see 12. May depend if Mitchell is deemed healthy enough to play. Don't see a scenario where Chafin is on the roster, will be nice to have Miley available if necessary.
The Cubs play the Diamondbacks again so if the Cubs lose that series they are the final wild card. Then all they need is one of the Reds/Marlins/Giants to get hot. Not likely still but there is a path to miss the playoffs.
I would lean don't care but also know I would enjoy the games much more if it isn't against the Cubs. Ultimately just want it to line up Burnes/Woodruff/Peralta and a healthy Williams.
I remember in 1987 when Cecil Cooper remained on the active roster but never played. Didn't think that could happen ever again but here we are, going on three weeks with no playing time for Anderson and now another guy blocking him at 3B.
There is certainly a possibility something is brewing. Possibility that Counsell and Arnold are not seeing eye to eye regarding 3B, especially considering how he has used players in the past. Being a former player himself and the professional that he is I would hope that is not the case but a weird situation.
It's a low bar to replace a guy on IL if they really want to. If Vieira somehow became lights out the Brewers could say he is replacing Mejia and put him on the playoff roster. Or after last night's outing not seeing Ashby coming back this season.
Wiemer still plays a great CF and is a useful bat against LHP so he has a role on this team and still an important one in my opinion. Can't say the same about Anderson, who is worthless to this team barring an injury to Monasterio and even with that Donaldson probably gets the nod.
Those two starts appear to be the exception not the norm, I would agree that we should focus on the season. He hasn't been the same since the lat strain early in the season. The Brewers have certainly shown the ability to score minimal runs but I like the chances for the offense today. We'll see if Rea will hold up his end however.
Turang is the king of the dribbler and swinging bunt with a man on third. However, can see trying to win the game with Tellez instead of going for the tie. Not going to be too hard on Counsell for a bad result there.
