  1. You are going to really love it then when the Brewers-Cubs play in the first round of the playoffs right after.
  2. Fine with me, the reality is he is not good, regression will hit hard just like the Brewers offense tonight.
  3. One complaint about HIura this year is he never regained the hot bat after coming back from injury. However, now in August he is back to his April/May number again.
  4. Varland would have been a nice shuttle option but was the right move to not mess with the roster to try to keep him all season. Bad teams however should have claimed him and kept him on the roster all season. Brewers did a good job identifying him when he really wasn't ever mentioned in any rule 5 article leading up to the draft.
  5. Didn't realize he bounced around so many organizations. To some degree it is kind of surprising he survived his first month in Milwaukee as he didn't play real well but kept on getting better as the season went on. However, even when struggling he gets on base at a decent rate because of his walks, has a better chance to stick than a guy like Miller. Floor would appear to be a decent utility guy against LHP.
  6. That is true, in the past once a guy was called he would never be optioned back because there was no cap. However, wouldn't want to waste an option on Gasser or Misiorowski. I don't anticipate any interesting call ups on September. Just guys we have already seen
  7. Dusty gave Singleton the start against a lefty as well. Both HR and a single were against a LHP.
  8. Yeah, probably just Perkins coming back up. Owen Miller also wasn't mentioned.
  9. Kopech made a nice transition to full time starter last year but has had his fair share of clunkers this year and his FIP is 6.20. Can't be easy being on a bad team but expected more out of him. Hopefully his struggles continue for this game.
  10. I think there is decent evidence that Peguero shouldn't pitch in back to back games on a regular basis so wouldn't automatically give him the 7th. He has given 8 runs in 2.2 innings of work the last three times he has pitched the second game back to back.
  11. If the Brewers intend to have Chourio up all year in 2024 then they should call him up in September, no reason to wait. Could potentially be a difference maker. However, my guess would be the plan is for him to start 2024 in AAA so don't expect him in the majors in 2023.
  12. It doesn't really matter if one thinks it fair or not, it's a contract between the owners and union. They agree time on the major league IL results in service time and major league pay.
  13. These off days allow them to do away with the 6 man rotation, which prevents Rea and Teheran from starting. I am more interested to see if he goes back to the six man when there isn't so many off days. Don't see them removing Houser at this point.
  14. Not a game winner but will take that double from Canha. Also, Frelick getting the guy to third with one out.
  15. I thought he was going to get out of it, oh well.
  16. Wilson and Sousa switched 60 man spots so four on the 60 Day. Wilson/Ashby/Ruf/Mitchell
  17. Will be interesting to see how Counsell handles the bullpen today. Will have to give the ball to Mejia or Wilson in a big spot.
  18. It was an interesting read but also gave flashbacks to High Heat.
  19. I think he should get more days off during the season, prior to getting hit by Anderson in the dugout he had none. Yesterday was the first day off since the All Star Break. Don't really think 3 days is necessary, still brings it defensively and would take him every day over Turang against a lefty.
  20. He had an extra base hit taken away by McMahon last night but a lot of lazy pop ups thus far. Has not struck out much so maybe some positive regression coming. Edited to add the below, doesn't give me a lot of confidence going forward:
  21. Which isn't updated in season, he is well over 5 seasons now.
  22. Singleton is an easy guy to root for but am going to be really ticked off he hits for the Astros right out of the gate.
  23. Man, Frelick's walk rate is ridiculous. Should be a perfect leadoff hitter someday.
  24. Well Brent Suter is back so maybe he will provide some entertainment and the return of the Jurassic Park theme.
