  1. Doubt it, every year it is assumed he is done with the Brewers and every year he is a starter. They are guaranteeing Rea 4.5 million, not going to cost much more than that to keep Houser.
  2. 2/25 seems too much for a 2025 season that will be filled with question marks. 2/15 would be more than fair as it guarantees Woodruff some pretty good money even if he doesn't come back. If he is non tendered he is probably looking at a one year contract prove it deal anyway. Really too bad he can't get a big contract until his age 33 season.
  3. No, it is true. Those guys had minimal at bats and Roller was much less productive in his other AAA home. I agree with Ron Robinson to move on but no need to minimize what Hiura did, he was their best hitter. Unfortunate timing with his injuries but he will be with another organization next year.
  4. Some pretty decent holes at 1B/3B/DH, not seeing them spending much like usual, so would lean toward Black being on the opening day roster. As we saw with Wiemer though, it doesn't take much to get that extra year of control.
  5. Hiura got $2 million, they are not paying Rowdy $6 million for his production. Paying guys like Tellez, Hiura, Voit for nothing in return hurts.
  6. Now that he is finally gone Milwaukee is the type of team that should give him a chance and flip him at the deadline.
  7. Depressing not only because they lost but also because it will be their best chance for a while. 2024 is going to be brutal.
  8. One year ago today the Brewers beat Zac Gallen at AmFam Field, let's make it an annual tradition.
  9. It's cruel, but that would not be ideal for the Brewers
  10. Certainly a ton of pressure on Burnes tonight but the offense really needs to come through and get some runs in perhaps their most favorable pitching matchup they will see in the playoffs. Chance to get to the bullpen as well.
  11. Nah, it would be an upset if Counsell didn't win at this point. It is his turn, just the way it works.
  12. No messing around needed. These playoff games are likely the last games pitched by Burnes for Milwaukee.
  13. Any word on if that Monday game is played if it just impacts seeding? Would also like to avoid the Diamondbacks if possible. That Astros/Diamondbacks series is huge, will impact both leagues.
  14. I really love moments like Boz had but don't get to see them as often with the limited rosters. Will get a playoff share as well.
  15. So at his point should expect a Colin Rea DFA in order for Lauer to pitch tomorrow.
  16. Brewers are cutthroat this year with the DFA of Teheran and Anderson.
  17. Yeah, Counsell probably wins it. He is getting talk nationally, especially with his pending free agency.
  18. If I was a Marlins fan I like Rea in this spot. This will likely be his last chance to show what he can do before heading into free agency, want to leave on a high note and get a guaranteed contract.
  19. LOL, Rea will get optioned another time this month.
  20. That is really overthinking it. They earned the right to play their best by clinching early, not starting their #4 pitcher.
  21. Perkins, Frelick and Mitchell are not great options against LHP. Still don't know if they would have Wiemer on the roster, maybe Taylor starts in CF with Yelich/Canha. However, if they pinch hit for Taylor then kind of stuck so maybe Wiemer does make the playoff roster due to LHP.
  22. Pretty good lineup for last game of a series and already clinching. Plus get to see Burnes.
  23. Would be kind of odd at this point to DFA somebody off the 40 man just to get Boushley a start. Would appear to be other guys on the 40 man (Junk/Lauer) that could eat innings. Still wouldn't be surprised if Woodruff is the opener Friday to get some work in.
  24. I don't think Burnes goes very long today. If Small was still a starter would think he gets the bulk of the innings today but he hasn't been stretched all season. Maybe Rea with a few innings and optioned after the game for Lauer to work the weekend during Woodruff/Peralta short starts?
  25. Exactly, get the feeling it isn't selling. well. My check in offer for going to the Cardinals game was discounted tickets to the Wild Card games.
