  2. Pat Murphy on the Brewers post game show on 97.3 said he wouldn't be surprised to see Hiura sometime soon. Isn't a yes but surprised he would say that much.
  3. Sixto pretty much said it all. Only would add that Votto would have to approve as well since he is well beyond 10 and 5.
  4. I can't see Alexander being called up, just not very good. More likely a bullpen guy.
  5. I think they end up with Hernandez. Due to his higher salary, upcoming free agency and underperforming I don't think he will cost too much and RF has been a black hole all year. Think he could put up similar numbers to Renfroe last year. Would certainly help against LHP as well. Could also DH if some of these other Brewers outfielders (Taylor/Tapia/Jones/Perkins) start hitting at all.
  6. The Brewers sweep the Reds and this is the MLB.com headline:
  7. Career he is 287/376/466 and he is now at 286/378/472,almost identical.
  8. Winker has been horrible, July is no different. Would be insane to think it will get better in August/September.
  9. Candelario has a right thumb issue, couldn't play either game yesterday. Could end up on the IL, which would not give a lot of time before the deadline to show he is healthy.
  10. However, the reality is it isn't just one game when talking about the top two teams, just basic math. If the records were flipped and the Brewers were 2-7 against the Reds, they would be 9 games back. The season would be over for the Brewers.
  11. I imagine if Anderson had to go on the IL that Urias would be back. Monasterio.should not be playing everyday.
  12. It would be nice to have Jones still when facing lefties like Abbott.
  13. I don't know how much longer Alexander can hold onto a 40 man spot. He is okay at times but mainly organization filler and the type of player that can be found quite easily.
  14. Was closer in putting Misiorowski #1 than Quero but ultimately went with Chourio/Misiorowski/Quero
  15. Winker again not in the lineup against a RHP. Get rid of him already, a replacement could at least pinch run or do something in the field.
  16. None of those guys have much upside or are very appealing. Not very hard for other contenders to beat that offer.
  17. Agreed, it will be hard for anybody to overtake Weimer in CF, this year or in the future. RF has been a problem all season, just doesn't stand out because of 1B/DH.
  18. Maybe Arnold is really forward thinking and realizes there will be no bats available after the trade deadline so teams may be willing to give up prospects for non 40 man Hiura after the trade deadline.
  19. I don't know if I like the comment that much because if he said something about their hitters he could back it up with a solid outing on Friday. Here, he is putting extra pressure on the Brewers offense, which has received a ton of criticism already. It's certainly not out of the question that the Reds pitching could shut down the Brewers this weekend.
  20. They are burning an option year weather he stays all season in AAA next year or only a portion. He still would then have two more options which really wouldn't be a concern if he is an All Star type catcher.
  21. Jones wasn't on the 40 man with the Dodgers. The Brewers signed him to a major league deal and he has options so they could have sent him down right away if they wanted. Jones actually assumed he was going to Nashville and not Milwaukee.
  22. I want what is worst for the Cardinals and would lean toward no trade. Don't want them to get any top prospects or financial flexibility.
  23. I had not watched in years but watched the final two rounds with the kids and found it enjoyable. Don't need to complicate things too much. It is hard to keep track of the home runs at times as the camera doesn't get them all. Probably more dangerous for the kids catching the balls as well since it is more fast paced, it kid did take a header from one of Guerrero's hits.
  24. If it only cost Small then Candelario would already be a Brewer. Lara is a good call plus some more. I don't know if the Brewers are willing to do that.
  25. Was kind of bummed Jones wasn't used with the bases loaded yesterday against the lefty. Don't seem to trust him in the field but think he could be a better version of Ruf if they gave him a chance.
