  1. That 1990 Brewers team was miserable but Rob Robinson never pitched better than the time he was with the Brewers in 1990, gave some hope he would be a starter for years to come but that was not in the cards. Bob Sebra also provided some excitement that year when he started that brawl with the Mariners at the Kingdome. He didn't pitched an inning in the majors after that.
  2. I would guess he is Alex Jackson's replacement
  3. Right, not a coincidence his numbers improved when he no longer had at bats against lhp to bring his overall no numbers down.
  4. There really isn't any indication Wong will be the DH but wouldn't be opposed to it. Same money as McCutchen and he would at least be the correct side of the platoon.
  5. That probably depends more on what happens to Jace Peterson.
  6. No decision yet and I have gone back and forth but I think they pick it up. They could trade him and think there would be interest. He has been a 2.5-3.0 WAR player during his time here and has earned what they have paid him thus far. Would certainly take one more season of that. I believe no shift will improve his defensive numbers as well.

  8. Probably should have been a cooling down period, I mean Clemens/Bonds just had their final year on the ballot January of this year.
  9. I think there is a pretty good chance Mejia is selected. The rule 5 restrictions don't really matter since he is out of options anyway. If a team picks him and he works out, great, otherwise he is DFA and can be claimed.
  10. I like it but seems to already be in place. Editorial type articles do create discussion, don't clog anything. Especially this time of year. Regarding the transaction forum, if the Brewers make a trade or signing it has always been on the main forum, are you saying you don't want that anymore?
  11. The non tender deadline is usually early December but think it makes sense to have the non tender and adding to the 40 man date close to each other.
  12. Trade Simulator says Taylor alone could get it done but sure include one of Cousins/Topa to get it done. Find that a little hard to believe but if the Brewers could trade from their excess to acquire what was a weakness I hope they do it. Would open up a reserve spot for Ruiz.

  14. I think it is a nice gesture for those that do it as many are not home but there is nearly a 100% chance that at some point a kid will dump the entire thing in their basket. I left the bucket on the steps once as my kids were too young to go alone and nobody else to take them so just hoped the young kids with parent crowd got to it before the one kid took it all. It was beautiful out Monday so I sat outside giving out candy while my kids went. There was one house across the street that left the bucket and around the 1 hour mark some kid finally took it all with a couple of younger kids right behind dejected that they didn't get anything. When they finally made it around to me I made sure they got twice as much as I gave everybody else. Sure, the world would still spin without the candy but it really does bring joy to the kids and having some selfish people isn't going to ruin it.
  15. Turang is looking better as an option if Peterson is going to get $8 million. My confidence in him is still shaky. Likely biased since I went to a bunch of home games and couldn't watch road games most of the year but he was an absolutely brutal player at home this year.
  16. Yeah, would have to imagine Erceg would take a 40 man spot over loyalty to the Brewers on a minor league deal.

  18. This is directly from Maria Hader, think we can drop that Hader's struggles were related to family issues. He was born June 15th, major struggles starting mid July.
  19. Being able to buy out one year of free agency with Woodruff would be great, would much rather have that than a 6 year deal but doubt Woodruff would go for it . Would have to make that third year worth it and 3/45 doesn't do it.

  21. Kevin Seitzer had a career year in 92 but Sheffield could have been the player that put them over the top and into the playoffs. If there is one move in Brewers history I could take back it would be this one because there has not been many years the Brewers could have won the World Series but 92 was one of them.

  23. Relying on Small to be a starter is not ideal, doubt they do that. If they rely on Small they are really hoping a guy like Jason Alexander can step up which did not work well in 2022.
  24. Initially it appears kind of silly that Yelich is a finalist but like stated the pool to select from isn't very big. If he somehow won that would be ridiculous but top 3 in LF isn't much of a stretch.
