  1. Looking at the lack of productive SS in Brewers history it is kind of crazy that they moved Hall to CF after a 6 WAR season at SS where he was productive offensively and defensively. It was probably the right move in hindsight with Hardy at SS and they wanted Braun at 3B but still that is a bold move. Quite the downfall for Hall from 2006 to 2007. Would have been even a bolder move but wonder what the Brewers could have received if they traded Hall after that season.
  2. Spiers is rather weak at 5, Hernandez is far more deserving. Would put Hall over Spiers for just 2006.
  3. I would think Singleton would want to stick with the Brewers if not claimed as he willingly signed with them after the season without a major league deal. Could still be the first option if Rowdy got hurt pending if they do anything with Hiura.
  4. One thing I always do with my kids is go to customer relations and get a free pack of baseball cards. If we are sitting in the Terrace, can go to customer relations up there and get a pack as well. If you pay for parking go the the designated driver booth to the left of the main entrance to get a free soda voucher. You used to be able to bring pretty much any food into the ballpark but more restrictive now. Can bring an unopened bottle of water/soda for each person plus a snack (peanuts, licorice, chips etc.) for each person. Agree with T that the food inside is bad, the price is understandable because that is ballpark prices but not paying for expensive and bad. I do like the fresh popcorn on the main level by the entrance. The Bud Selig Experience on the Loge level beyond Left Field is good if you have never seen before, hasn't been updated though. Is free, about 15 minutes or so and some memorabilia to look at after the video is done.
  5. I actually like this deal for the Marlins, a little smoke and mirrors with Lopez. Would take my chances on Arraez accumulating 9 WAR over Lopez 6 WAR plus the prospects ever amounting to anything.
  6. Kind of running out of time with Spring Training in less than a month. This is probably it.
  7. They would be sent down in that scenario. However, it certainly is less likely Turang begins the year with the Brewers and they just go with a Toro/Miller/Perkins type player on opening day. If Anderson stinks/ constantly on IL again will be forced to bring up Turang.
  8. They still have Brosseau against lefties if they don't want to play Anderson against lefties all of the time. More concerned if his overall numbers bounce back to career norms. However, like others have indicated, his salary does not preclude the Brewers from moving on and going a different direction.
  9. If Hiura isn't a fit on this team and there are no takers it might make sense to DFA Hiura, if he doesn't accept the assignment he doesn't get paid his $2 million.
  10. As it stands it is Caratini/Brosseau/Hiura and one of Toro/Miller/Frelick/Turang/Perkins as the last guy. Will be interesting to see if they still end up trading Hiura. Urias can certainly be the backup SS and starting 2B so no need for Turang to sit on the bench.
  11. I would go with Mays, provides defense, speed, slugging and another right handed bat they desperately need.
  12. That playoff game in 2008 was the most electrifying crowd I have ever been at for the Brewers. I guess a drought of 26 years will do that. Then the crowd was dead the next day with Suppan giving up a leadoff Homer and they still pitched Gallardo late in the game.when it was over.
  13. Fielder and Cooper should be clear 1/2, a debate could certainly be made between the 2. I remember being in grade school when Brock played and everybody thought he stunk, certainly not great statistical analysis but I have never heard or seen anybody consider him to be very good. He fell 42 plate appearances short of being in the Brewers Wall of Honor, only Tommy Harper was closer without qualifying.
  14. If nobody signs him it is because of Bauer not the media, I'm sure Bauer is on board for that excuse though
  15. Considering some assortment of Burnes/Woodruff/Peralta/Adames/Contreras have to be 1-5 I would agree with the list for the most part. Since this is about how valuable the player is to the Brewers organization I would think Yelich would be somewhere in the 8-10 range as he is still the face of the franchise, likely would be the number one answer if a Family Feud type question was asked of a 100 random fans outside the stadium. This will likely be the lowest Chourio will be for a long time but okay at 7 right now.. Agree with Winker on the list because the Brewers are pretty much counting on him to have a bounce back season. I think Ashby can make a strong case to be on the list, clearly they targeted him as somebody they will count on for a long time and somebody to take over for Woodruff/Burnes when they leave.
  16. He was not optioned in 2021 or 2022 he has an option. Not real interested though, 31 and poor defense.
  17. I thought it was king of interesting Prince Fielder received votes for best amateur prospect ever. Hard to define "best" but would consider that more of an all around athlete instead of a guy that hits for power. Moneyball even ripped on him pretty bad back in the day.
  18. Just one small thing, he will be 19 for the entire baseball season not 18. Obviously still very young.
  19. Even though Topa hasn't pitched much in the majors he isn't exactly young at 32, appears like decent young pitcher for him.
  20. Man they sure are pushing that Miller is a local guy and longtime Brewers fan. I don't know if I could take it if he ends up on the roster.
  21. Wilson has to have more upside than Alexander. Basically acquiring these guys so Alexander doesn't start again.
  22. Totally disagree, they traded Ruiz straight up for an All Star that won't be a free agent for a number of years. If the casual fan even knows who Robert Gasser is they know who Contreras is.
  23. Having the game on a Sunday night will probably be an advantage for the Packers. The Seahawks likely beat the Rams and the game means nothing for the Lions. They are human and will have a letdown, it doesn't really matter who coaches them, that extra motivation won't be there. On the other hand if they see the Seahawks lose, it will be a dogfight.
  24. One specific article that I recommend having in its own forum are those Crew Throwbacks that Reilly does. I think it would be nice to have all of those in one place. I do enjoy reading those but is kind of out of place from the other articles because I don't know if they are there really to generate discussion. Maybe even have one pinned in this separate forum where it would show a list of all player articles done and you can click a link to read an article on a player you are interested in.
  25. The weight does not fall on Gasser to prove it was worth trading Hader. They received Contreras and everybody knows it, if anything there is less pressure on Gasser since they received an All Star for Hader in the end.
