  1. Browsing through this thread and saw these guys compared to Carlos Luna a couple of times. Luna is having a good season at A+ this year but you never know with these trades, all three could still be in the minors now and we could still be wondering how the trade would turn out.
  2. As has been stated before why mess with a good thing, go Burnes-Peralta-Woodruff with a little layoff but basically the same amount of rest. Anderson-Houser-Lauer can adjust to the longer layoff.
  3. I liked the buckethead brigade that he came up with during some of those losing seasons but can see him wearing out his welcome with teams. Didn't think it would take only 90 days though.
  4. He does? MLB transactions shows he was optioned in 2016, 2019 and 2020. Did he get a 4th option? He was optioned July 18, 2019 but recalled July 31 so should not have burned an option in 2019.
  5. Lorenzo Cain was 1-2 in his first rehab game, did not play in the second game of the double header. Not expected back until at least the second series after the All Star break.
  6. A guy warming up is a pretty good indication he could be coming in, doubt they would mess around with Hader.
  7. Kind of strange the Brewers never said they added Gustave as the 27th man as they almost always tweet out 40 man roster moves. In fact there were reporters who initially stated the Brewers declined to use a 27th man.
  8. Booing the pickoff attempt is also part of baseball. It is rare to go to a major or minor league game where the away pitcher isn't booed for doing so.
  9. A little late to the party but I like the move. Don't really think they gave up much and don't really mind if he is a Vogelbach clone. They need somebody in there for the next 6 weeks or so plus however long Vogelbach's rehab is. By that time they can make the decision if Tellez should continue as starter or Vogelbach gets the job back and even send Tellez back down. They both won't be on the roster next year but they can figure that out after the season. If they don't have confidence in either can still make another move by the end of July.
  10. I believe the Brewers left Kirby unprotected in the minor league phase of the rule 5 draft so not a surprise they are willing to trade him for minor league depth. Kirby probably has a shot at the bigs this season with the Pirates. Would have left the Brewers in minor league free agency anyway.
  11. Peralta and Burnes are basically even and a toss up, either could have easily made it. However if Woodruff can't pitch it would be a great way to get all three selected.
  12. Peterson was actually very good during Wongs last IL trip. Small samples go up and down but he had a great June when it was said and done. No, he put 107/242/143 while Wong was on the IL. Peterson has a nice stretch here but would rather not put him in an every day role. Certainly can be a bench piece since he gets on base so much.
  13. Peterson was very bad the last time Wong went on the IL, hopefully can do better this time around and keep it going.
  14. They will have a dog day of summer lull but don't think it will impact July much. 15-9.
  15. There you go Urias. There hasn't been enough bickering in this series, have a feeling Urias or Adames will be taking one in the ribs before it is over today.
  16. Just got home from.the game. Usually stay far away from Cubs games but received free tickets and it was a great atmosphere. Nail biter most of the way but the 8th inning was the most fun inning I have ever been at. Cubs fans left in a hurry.
  17. To steal a line from Jesus Aguilar, the Hawks know they've got a problem tomorrow.
  18. This is a Packers thread so the woe is me from Packers fans can be a little much and I know there are lots of Packers fans that don't even care about the Bucks are Brewers. However there are also a set of fans that care far more about the Brewers and Bucks than the Packers, including me. Since this is Brewerfan.net I imagine even the majority here care about the Brewers much more than the Packers. It is fair to say the vast majority of the people here have never seen a Brewers or Bucks championship so I have to laugh at people that set their standards so low that they are happy with no championships, it has been brutal to be a Milwaukee sports fan and nobody can say otherwise.
  19. Who knows but JP wouldn't be getting those saves with the Brewers and Adames wouldn't be getting as many at bats with the Rays. It was a good trade for the team and the players.
  20. Definitely remember this even though I was very young. Was so odd always seeing him in the dugout but he never played after the All Star break. Interesting you bring him up when the main reason for it was the cheapness of the guy you have as an avatar. Can only imagine the outrage of wasting a 26 man spot today on say Bradley but never playing him.
  21. Finally get to see why Tampa traded Adames who's been nothing short of Milw's best player since that trade. Franco will have some big expectations to fill. Also this must mean Super 2 timing has reached it's exit and promotions will be happening all around MLB teams. Adames had a Hiura/JBJ like 42 wRC+ in April. If he was on the Brewers at that time, Brewerfan would have demanded he be replaced immediately. Rays fans did that, they certainly were not upset in losing Adames. Consensus was good team guy but time to go.
  22. When a team DFA someone they cut bait with them or whatever other term you want to use. There might be valid reason for it and I agree Taylor is better but in the end the Brewers are saying they don't need that player.
  23. I would definitely take Mancini over Cron but as Jopal said Baltimore probably will be looking for more than the Brewers can or would be willing to give up.
