  1. Would rather have Nottingham than Maile or Feliciano right now. Think it is likely he gets claimed by the Brewers because even if Piña comes back by Friday Nottingham is the choice for backup.
  2. Injuries catch up with them somewhat, 13-15.
  3. Zimmermann does join Mike Zagurski as the only Milwaukee Brewers pitchers in history that have a last name starting in Z. Hopefully he does better than Zagurski's 7 earned runs in one inning pitched.
  4. I believe Robertson is actually on the 7 Day IL.
  5. Could always be another injury with the Brewers luck this year but if not an injury then Yardley/Weigel appear to be the likely choice of being optioned after pitching multiple innings.
  6. Bickford may never amount to anything but kind of disappointing to potentially lose him for Godley. Says a lot about Lauer too, could have easily brought up Lauer for one start and immediately sent back down if they wanted.
  7. As pathetic as it sounds it may depend on if Robertson can go. Would be easy enough to send Reyes down and bring up Lauer. Lauer showed something his first couple of years with the Padres and should at least be better than Godley/Zimmerman. Would hate to lose Suter for a few days when the rest of the bullpen has been less than reliable. Hopefully at least one of Cain/Yelich can be activated off the IL after tomorrow's game and a pitcher can be sent back down.
  8. It is also staying within whatever budget Stearns has, he chose to allocate his budget to other areas. Determining how you spend your allocated budget isn't necessarily cutting costs it is prioritizing your money how feel it is best spent.
  9. Don't know what is in his contract or if the contract details can overwrite MLB rules. Lindblom has been outrighted before and can refuse an outright but according to MLB rules he would forfeit any remaining guaranteed money if he refused.
  10. Knebel had to leave after five pitches last night. Had not pitched in 6 days. Knebel looked uncomfortable for Hosmer's entire at bat and was noticeably grimacing after his last pitch.
  11. The Brewers depth at starting pitcher really stinks right now. Hopefully Anderson can go but if not I guess I would go with Lauer and see what Weigel can do as a second choice. Don't really want Zimmerman or Godley pitching for the Brewers..
  12. I feel bad for the Brewers pitcher(s) that will eat up innings today and will get optioned after the game
  13. Absolutely, don't understand why anybody would think otherwise.
  14. Interesting, just in time for Wong to come back. Did he hurt it while hitting those two HR, suitcase fall on his thumb?
  15. I have a 10 year old that plays hockey and baseball in the Madison area. Has to travel around the state for both but for the most part within a hour or two, though with Dane County restrictions during the pandemic there was more travel this year with hockey especially. The key is to make sure they are having fun, don't want to burn them out. I like the way they do baseball where I live, you have to play in the regular league in order to play on the travel team. That way there is still community leagues with local coaches and players that don't have to be great. However, there is a more competitive environment for those that seek it and they get to experience them both.
  16. I think it could go either way if Nottingham gets claimed or not. Don't think he will ever be a consistent starter with his hitting but still think he can be a solid backup and as mentioned will be cheap.
  17. The CDC is in a tough spot because once they say vaccinated people don't have to wear masks then that is pretty much the end of mask wearing. I really hope a kids vaccine come soon.
  18. The Renato Nunez thread is locked but he was DFA by the Tigers so I imagine the Brewers can get for basically nothing or perhaps even nothing if nobody puts in a claim. Might make sense to option Hiura with his struggles and go with some sort of Nunuz/Vogelbach/McKinney platoon for now.
  19. Will be nice to get Wong back but I imagine Jace saved his job for now with the Padres series.
  20. What happened? On Gameday it looks like he took a strike three called a ball and then homered on the next pitch.
  21. It is much easier to just option somebody from the shuttle than DFA a guy like Vogelbach or McKinney. It sure seems like Fisher is headed to a DFA whenever he gets healthy though.
  22. I'm all for giving Taylor playing time but there is pretty much nothing Taylor does better than Grisham. Close to zero chance he has the career of Grisham.
  23. Phil Bickford burned his second option today on 4/20.
  24. Except they did it with Peralta and that looks pretty good.
