  1. Even in the early 2000s they still had guys like Burnitz, Sexson and Jenkins. End of season lineups with injuries could still be brutal though. With that said I would even prefer a Lenny Harris/Matt Stairs combo.
  2. It does not apply, he has never been outrighted.
  3. Nottingham can't accept/not accept. He either gets claimed/traded or outrighted to the minors, Nottingham has no choice in the matter.
  4. I remember a certain Packers QB being “done” multiple times. Guys change their minds. We shall see. Having Favre here all those years does always leave doubt in my mind. I remember he was on Letterman so many years ago and was asked why the retirement papers were not in and he gave a grin said he didn't sign it and I knew right then he would be back. If Braun is retired then he can let us know, until then there will be people rightfully asking when he will be back.
  5. reyes can be optioned. pérez cannot. at present, the brewers have only three position players on optional assignment right now, and only one is an infielder. that's scarcely depth. They have Gordon and Westbrook that can be added as well if necessary. Depth isn't really a concern when we are getting to Pablo Reyes talent type level, need more production from the utility person.
  6. Directly from their site, however I don't know if Covid restrictions change anything: Ticket Policy for Children Children two (2) years of age and under do not need a ticket to enter American Family Field, provided they are seated on a parent or guardian's lap. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/ballpark/information/guide
  7. That's not their career strikeout rates, check the links I posted for their actual numbers. Strikeout rate is K/PA, not K/AB. I know how strikeout rates are determined, but I prefer strikeouts per at bats myself as well. That is fine if that is your preference but strikeout rate is defined. Somebody can't just say they are using factual information if they really are not calculating the stat correctly.
  8. First glance I don't like Shaw batting cleanup but looking at the lineup don't know who else to put there unless Garcia was playing.
  9. I'm going to Price-is-Right-you and say May 20. If it is Price is Right rules you didn't leave much room to win. You would have May 20 and nothing else, if before you go over.
  10. It sure is dumpster diving but getting no production out of the right handed utility guys Robertson and Reyes.
  11. What is the story with him and why he hasn't pitched in so long?
  12. Maybe Fisher can provide a hot stretch when he gets off the IL, kind of like what McKinney did early on. Can't believe it but kind of miss Jace and his walks as well, at least he gets on base somehow. Of course it will be great when Narvaez comes back. Beyond that not much to look forward to offensively.
  13. I remember him being a color commentator for the Brewers for a couple of years and then he was replaced by Bill Schroeder in the mid 90s.
  14. I know Ochoa wasn't an All Star or anything after being traded by the Brewers but he had a real nice 1999 with the Brewers going 300/404/466 and followed that up with 316/378/586 for the Reds. Makes me wonder why they would trade that kind of production for Mark Sweeney.
  15. Westbrook with a big game, has been playing in the minors a long time but still only 25. Has been a few years since he played 2b but that is where the Brewers put him. If he could play the left side of the infield would like his chances of being called up by the Brewers at some point but tough being 2b/LF.
  16. Trout is inner circle HOF, top ten all time type player, don't think many would ever take Yelich over Trout at any point in their career.
  17. Really disappointing. Figured at the very least he would have some awesome years in his late 20s and early 30s and now they are just getting wasted. Just want him to get healthy at this point, very bizarre they activated for a game and then right back on the IL, does not give me a lot of confidence in the Brewers medical team.
  18. Well... both sitting while Pablo Reyes starts in left. I was fine with optioning Taylor, but if the plan was to sit Cain/Yelich on the same day they really should have sent a pitcher down or DFA Zimmerman instead of Taylor.
  19. It isn't really comparable, Grisham started to turn the corner when he was around 22 and still isn't in his prime. It is much more common to see a 27 year old have some success in their prime but not be able to sustain it.
  20. Because they had Pina and Narvaez. Wouldn't be a horrible thing to have the right handed side of the 1B platoon covered with a third catcher.
  21. Was taking a look at his stats today and he has given up 17 runs in 19 innings, including 9 home runs!
  22. you didn't predict the corresponding roster move, but assuming that it's optioning bettinger, he would have to remain on optional assignment for 10 days . . . and there would be no other pitcher on the 40-man eligible for recall. the brewers still have seven more games to play before a day off . . . so someone needs to take burnes' spot again friday. if not bettinger, who? Like the Brewers will go another 5 days without somebody else hitting the IL.
