  1. Not to derail the thread but is there a plan that the front office has shared in regards to Braun's thumb, now hand? I thought I heard surgery is not a cure all and could make it worse so this could just be something he has to play with the rest of his career?
  2. While I agree that we don't know with absolute certainty one way or another there is a much higher probability that he at a minimum knew about the video. He may never have seen it but I doubt he never knew they had it. Why would the person in the NFL offices who received the video not run it up the flag pole? It's Corporate America, CYA. Either way I think it's a sideshow that is diverting attention from the conversation on domestic abuse that could be taking place. This isn't an isolated incident. Perhaps we could use this case to have a discussion about it on at least a national level and educate ourselves a bit. This isn't the first time nor the last, let's try to evolve a bit. And...remove self from soap box.
  3. Extend him!
  4. Anyone see 'Worlds Greatest Dad'? Kind of a black comedy written and directed by Bob Goldthwait. It's eery to watch now. It's about his son dying in an embarrassing way and him covering it up by staging it as a suicide. Overlooked, but powerful. Not for everyone but it is one of my favorites.
  5. I live in the Bay Area and if the Crew wins this one I get lunch on a coworker. Here I come Chez Panisse. Don't lose this for me KRod!
  6. So stay here. Don't leave. We need your good fortune for the 9th.
  7. Methinks Smith just needs a break. Is his velocity down at all? His stuff just doesn't look the same. I'm not expert though.
  8. I feel they dodged a bullet. But I think I'm just down on the bullpen right now. Maybe they start coming around starting today. How's that for some optimism?
  9. Yep, I'm nervous he's going to pull him after Pagan no matter what happens. Thirds. Ugh. Jeffress.
  10. Also, as a clubhouse what does this do to your confidence when you know your manager is going to make stupid decisions like that so often?
  11. This one is squarely on RR. That move made no sense. How is this guy still the manager?
  12. Every year since 2007 he's been slow to call up relievers. Look at the first 2 months of the season for relief pitchers, then look when they were replaced. Quite shocking. If you make the claim you should provide the evidence and comps.
  13. I wonder what they could have gotten for him had they waited for the offseason? Guess we will never know.
  14. Didn't they already option Shafer? I can't believe Davis is getting traded.
  15. They must expect a healthy Henderson back soon if they aren't trading for a reliever. Right?
  16. Seriously. Three pitchers. And the third has been struggling. I mean, okay, take out Jeffress, fine. But because Duke walks one guy and a righty is up he brings in KRod? What a waste.
  17. Well at least they got a hit. I was half expecting a perfect game tonight.
  18. As seen on the FSL transactions page, Delmonico's placement on the Temp Inactive became official today (Sunday 7/20), with INF Greg Hopkins transferred from the Stars to Brevard. Adam McCalvy tweet: #Brewers No. 6 prospect Nicky Delmonico, idle since 7/7, is not injured. Return of undisclosed personal issues that plagued him in spring. Tweet via @MLBPipeline -- Nick Delmonico, No. 17 on Brewers' MLB.com Top 20 Prospects list, suspended 50 games for testing positive for amphetamine.
  19. My advice is too late but... I think it's like $20/month but MLB TV uses GPS not your billing address so you could watch the games out here in CA. 'Please note: MLB.com At Bat™ live game blackouts are determined using multiple reference points, including GPS. MLB.com At Bat™ uses the Core Location software of your iPhone. If this software is not functioning properly, MLB.com At Bat™ may not be able to determine your location correctly. The zip code search is offered for general reference only.'
  20. If that's the case then the Cubs can just do exactly what the A's just did. Trade some of their assets for pitching talent and extend them before free agency. I think this is a great move by the Cubs. They are building the right way. Division keeps getting scarier and scarier. Edit: added quotes
