  1. Joe West, big shocker, made it a bigger deal by warning the Brewers dugout too, which can be seen at the 25 second mark of this video.......the reaction by the Brewers dugout is funny, basically thinking what a buffoon West is, I would assume http://search.espn.go.com/nyger-morgan-giants/
  2. http://web.minorleaguebas...p;t=p_pbp&pid=598286 The above is the recount of Nick the Stick's recent ten game barage.......amazing stuff and he leads the league in OPS by a wide margin.....Ramirez leads the league in dingers and Yadiel is 2nd
  3. Johnson, a streak hitter who is in the .900 OPS range in limited at bats this year may be a cheap option to swing a righty stick. He would be owed 400k for the rest of the year if the Cubs would deal in division. He plays a weak center, but has split his time evenly between the 3 spots in the of this year.
  4. Crisp has about 2 million left on his contract and plays similarly to Gomez.....would he be worth an Austin Ross and Zelous Wheeler?
  5. ouch, I really wanted Keppinger even though he fits in better with Giants at 2nd....i just see Keppinger as a guy I want up in the late innings
  6. The chevy guy needs to change his pants after that presentation...wow, was he nervous - "We want to bring the world to the baseball" Prince's kids look nothing like him, especially the mohawk kid.....was Dave Martinez ever a Brewers coach in the mid 00's? (Sorry, bad Ryne Sandberg reference)
  7. Last night was basically just a chance for the horrendous D-Back fan base to embarrass themselves by booing Fielder in front of his kids....I have a new team and fanbase to root against
  8. I was listening to a few innings of the radio broadcast of the Braves/Phils game today and Jim Powell was in his usual awesome form. Some of his comments that were of interest 1. Brewer fans were pelted with batteries by Phillies fans that they willingly sat in a bus coach for several innings in lieu of withstanding the abuse of Phillies fans....Any personal recollections of this? 2. When discussing the last time Pirates were relevant (1992) Sid Bream's slide was brought up in which Barry Bonds refused to move up in the outfield, in fact giving Andy Van Slyke the finger right before the hit. 3. Powell HATES Bonds, calling the poor throw to home "the only good thing Bonds ever did on the baseball field as far as I'm concerned"
  9. Living in North Carolina, I got the Reds announcers for this game. They were postulating that ZG's fastball was straighter than they recalled and that his confidence in it has decreased, thus increasing his pitch count because he is keeping his fastball out of the strike zone against guys like Votto. They were also marveling at his off speed filthiness. 75 innings or so at 16w/107 ks is really strange, especially at a 5.45 ERA
  10. To answer my owned posed question, I am, though some asshattery by the Pirates over the last few years against the Brewers, generally involving throwing at our batters, has tempered that a bit. Hurdle seems to get a lot out of his players, though he makes RRR look like a gameday management genius. That lineup they throw out there is pretty sketchy, and if they would lose McCutcheon for any stretch, it would be a huge blow to their o. Two rookies currently at the top of the lineup. I see .500 as probable, but do not think they can muster up the 88-92 wins it will take to win this division.
  11. I would like Greinke to have about a 9 day rest, so putting him in that 4 hole works for me....ZG is just confusing the crud out of me.....can anyone check to see any statistical seasons like Greinke is putting up? 74 innings/ 15 walks/ 102 k's with a 6 ERA is just weird.
  12. http://sports.espn.go.com...lb/news/story?id=6747510 More information and player reaction, including a really wrenching bit of info from Brad Ziegler indicating the fan was asking the medics to check on his son who was now in the stands alone....the fan was awake and aware and the players were shocked that he died later on. By all accounts, this fan was sober, just off balance as the video, which I have not seen, apparently attests.
  13. I think its just as likely that he just got the digits of the hot redhead seated along the 3rd base line
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com...lb/news/story?id=6747510 I worry about Hamilton's psyche after this....creepy fact is that 1 year and 1 day ago same thing happened though fan survived with skull fracture...both were firefighters. Rangers need to look at the safety/height of this railing
  15. not a Brewer pick, but can we please pick up South Carolina catcher Robert Beary up as a senior non-drafted free agent.....the guy has made three tremendous defensive plays in the last three innings and has been hitting well in the post season......Tanner was incredulous that Beary did not get drafted.
  16. your facts are just wrong in terms of him being a chucker - thus being selfish....as many times as you say it, it will not become truth....while his efficiency ratio is suboptimal, the people that see Jackson on a regular basis such as Bonnell and myself know that comparing him in any sense to Maggette is implicitly incorrect.
  17. As a Bucks fan Living in Charlotte and seeing many Bobcats games, I understand that Bucks fans in general have not seen Jackson's game much. I also stipulate that offensive efficiency metrics do not speak well of his game. However, Jackson was an excellent player with the Bobcats, a million times better than Maggette - who was a black hole offensively. This brief summary from a Bobcats reporter tells you all want to know about how Jackson was viewed here in Charlotte: Stephen Jackson, I wish you well http://blogs.charlotte.com/.a/6a00d8341c02fd53ef01538f673036970b-200wi The Bobcats drafted hope, but they gave up a really good player. Stephen Jackson is an especially bright talent. He imposes himself on a defense. He can shoot, go to the basket, play defense and pass. He's unselfish. Some nights, he held the ball too long. Some nights, he took fouls personally. On those nights, he devolved into a world in which people with striped shirts were out to get him, and he made his battle personal, at the expense of his team. But when he was on, and he was on most nights, he was a big, tough, guy and a good teammate who really, really, really knew the game. Jackson appreciated Charlotte, and he appreciated fans. He's candid and smart, and he gave the franchise what he had. This comment, taken from the Charlotte Observer, gives you an idea of what Jackson was beyond the stats - a tough leader that wanted to win and take the last shot. Yes Jackson is aging (though he is not far from Maggette in the physique department), and certainly a bit loco, but he will bring to the Bucks something it has not had in a great while. With Udrih and Livingston, I think this is a 7 win trade and the Bucks are a 42-45 win team. I know some regard this as NBA purgatory, but if this is indeed an entertaining team I greatly prefer that compared to a complete teardown - which has zero guarantees
  18. The beat reporter here in Charlotte is saying Tyrus Thomas may be in the deal as well
  19. I live in Charlotte and see a number of Bobcats games. Stephen Jackson, who is amongst the names being rumored to the Bucks is indeed crazy, but is an excellent player, tons better than Gerald Wallace. Twrl said on the realgm board that he is awful, but I completely disagree. I think the Bucks still can get Burks at 19.
  20. Good arguments regarding Damon, and I agree with the sentiment that he falls short, even if half his comps are hall of famers.....if he had continued in KC, there is little doubt his candidacy would be dimmer.
  21. Yes, accountability is terrible....Lots of sheep bleat their opinions and shy away when their views are revisited and scrutinized. http://www.baseball-refer...layers/d/damonjo01.shtml And Damon's top 10 career comps are hall of famers if you include Rose.....he falls shy according to baseball reference, but it is certainly worth an argument.
  22. http://proxy.espn.go.com/.../saturday-overnight-post Statements such as possible world series matchup get my excitement level revved up. I also was pleased that Wolf is getting his due respect for what has been a fantastic season this year. I remember those that bashed Wolf and his contract last year, and find it interesting that they have been very, very quiet about his performance this year.
  23. Jungmann needs some serious coaching and mechanical adjustments, but man, I love his raw skill set.
  24. he looks like halladay......he was filthy in the 1st
  25. Rumors spreading about a deal with Wolves that includes Bogut and our tenth in which we would receive the 2nd, perhaps the 20th, and filler. My guess is the filler would look something like Martell Webster, Luke Ridnour and a 25 year old center named Pekovic that for some reason makes over 4 million.
