  1. Seemed like they disagreed what pitch to throw and Marcum was pissed that he crushed the pitch that Lucroy called.
  2. Yeah every weak swing by the Dbacks has turned into a flare single tonight. 2 of the 3 runs scored were because of a blown call in the first place, hard luck night for Marcum.
  3. wow he pitched like complete crap and got the save.
  4. My honest opinion is I'll be shocked if Valverde doesn't blow this game. As for Cardinals vs Phillies, I think it is foolish to not beg for the Cardinals, getting the weaker team and home field advantage would be an easy 10-20% shift in our chances at the world series.
  5. Same reason 20 years from now people will remember Braun as the greatest Brewer and not Fielder. Even though Molitor was better than Yount and Fielder is probably better than Braun.
  6. Usually Manager of the Year goes to the team who has the most overachieving players on it. Seems like almost every year it is some surprise team that falls apart the next year and half the time the manager is fired within 3 or 4 years.
  7. Don't need much pop to squeeze!
  8. I bought tickets for game 5 since I couldn't go to game 1 or 2, I'm confident that I won't end up using them and I'll instead be going to a game 2 against the Phillies or the Cardinals. I will be devastated if they lose to the DBacks in the 1st round with home field advantage as I consider them the weakest team to make the playoffs this year.
  9. Brewers at 3:37, Packers at 3 PM, Daughters birthday at 3 PM. Unfortunately I know which of those wins out, I'll have to smuggle in a radio.
  10. Brewers over Cardinals Rays over Yankees Rays over Brewers
  11. More proof that a hard salary cap isn't the only way to fix a sport. In baseball the better your team the more you play for players, in football the worse your team the more you pay, the two sports just aren't comparable in any way.
  12. How does Carpenter explain celebrating someone else losing to give an opportunity to keep playing to his son? How did the Brewers explain it in 2008? It's not unexpected is it? Running joke, it is a Carpenter thing.
  13. Everything about Pence's game is ugly so that would be very fitting. He is a very good player but I wouldn't ask my players to try to emulate his style.
  14. I'm still not sure which team I want to win even. I'd rather face the Cardinals than the Phillies so a chance at an upset there is huge. I don't really fear the Diamondbacks or Braves when we have home field advantage so the 1st round isn't going to matter much to me, we have to play poorly to lose to either of them with home field advantage.
  15. Yeah I have no issue with Sutton last night, it is being a completely over the top homer every game of the year that bugs me. Same reason I couldn't stand Santo.
  16. I sort of get it since you just need contact to score the run, but yeah that was an ugly AB and McGehee has been a ground out machine lately so I get why everyone is frustrated too.
  17. So glad he got to 2nd without a bunt that would have just made me mad.
  18. And Gallardo, Wolf, Marcum, Greinke, Axford and K-Rod. Usually we only get to count 1 or 2 pitchers in there http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.
  19. It usually is some cruddy guy that carries the team in the post season. Comparisons to Uribe make a lot of sense for Betancourt.
  20. He compared Hairston to Counsell. You think Counsell has a shot at starting a game?Well yeah I do, but he compared them in the sense that you know what they are going to give you because they have been around. To me it sounds like he isn't going to play Green because he doesn't know what to expect. I personally read that as McGehee is not going to start every day unless he turns things around in a hurry here and Green probably won't get to start either.
  21. I actually read that as McGehee isn't going to play every day because it is the playoffs and not the regular season, not sure how anyone reads that as Hairston isn't going to play. If anything it says Green won't get to play.
  22. The Brewers already beat up on Minor this year. Not to mention this idea has been debunked multiple times. People just remember the bad games against young pitchers and forget the games where we torch them.
  23. If our choices are Betancourt or McGehee or Green I'd just as soon see Counsell in the playoffs.
  24. Yeah come to think of it Wolf starting doesn't bother me that much as long as his next start looks healthy, if he struggles then it opens up a bit of a gray area since he got hurt and pitched poorly afterwords.
  25. Walks and defense are certainly the key factors since they aren't accounted for at all in the triple crown stats while most other significant stats are at least partially reflected in the triple crown stats.
