  1. I thinl the Nats should remember what happened when they rushed Detwiler to the bigs. Zimmerman sure looks like a great one with more than two potential plus offerings.
  2. Heh. I guess he's just covering his bases (PUN INTENDED!!!!) Lol.
  3. I love what Gindl has done since he was drafted. This is another pick that will make Zdurencik look like a genius. Obviously the knock on him is his height. BA also never gives the shorties their due but I see Gindl making one or two of their hot lists this year. I'm totally rooting for him!
  4. Absolutely. As much as I like J.J., he needs to move over. He's good enough offensively to man third and needs to do what's best for the organization. We need to deal one of them because Escobar away from short deminishes his value a ton. NO ONE should be in favor of Escobar vacating SS under any circumstance.
  5. It's sad. I've followed him all spring, but reality and Mike Lamp say there's no room, and Brad Nelson is also a lefty.
  6. Or Melvin is skirting the issue......I could totally see that.
  7. Although I have absolutely nothing concrete to go on here, I heard (second-hand) over the weekend that XM (Ken Joyce) interviewed either Macha or Melvin and stated that he sees the Brewers going after a top flight arm before the season starts. Again, I didn't hear it myself, but the timing of getting Miranda sure is weird. Moving Hardy or Escobar in a deal for a big arm? BTW, they explicitly named Jake Peavy in the segment......This was on the baseball channel on XM radio.
  8. Oh please don't get into the Papelbon/Joba scenario. I think Jeffress will be at the very minimum a serviceable #3 who will miss bats. I hope they don't shift him to the pen for future closer duties. Please! No!
  9. I agree. I would rather have a Weeks-type who is young and obviously has some offensive upside than a Mark Ellis-type who is a remarkable fielder but won't improve a lot. This is Weeks' make-or-break obviously, but I honestly believe there are a ton of worse options out there.
  10. I actually saw this article while waiting for a buddy to pop online to play Major League Baseball The Show 09. I love the feed reader in that game cause if you're waiting you can get team-by-team news. Anyhow, I also have a huge man-crush on Ryan Braun. The thing that really scared me about the article was his love of Derek Jeter. I am just afraid that in seven years when he's up for free agency he doesn't want a change of scenery to the Big Apple to try to fill those shoes. It seemed like he idolized that kind of attention. I admit he handles it well, like Jeter, but I hope he doesn't want a bigger spotlight. Let's make it same-city for your career Brauny!!!
  11. What's the worst Brewer contract of all time? Suppan? Higuera? Hammonds? Hall? I'm sure there's a Gantner in there somewhere too....
  12. I think the biggest moves this offseason are the ones that most casual fans are overlooking; signing Macha and Randolph. I can't wait to see how those two bring out talent that has been latent most notably in Hall and Weeks.
  13. Hopefully the old sentiment that pitching often starts the season slowly holds true. I also think that the Brewers have had at least some success against Lincecum. I also hope Johnson faces Parra in a battle of lefties. Can't wait for the first series!
  14. 80-82 Weeks improves. Fielder actually comes close to his 07 season Braun continues to dominate Hart stays the same - maybe a little worse Hardy's power regresses a little, but still solid Kendall plays 137 games THEIR PITCHING BLOWS! (Although I think Gallardo makes strides to improve, but not dominate yet) And for the record, I hope I'm wrong about the latter.
  15. Good call! You know (different meaning here) who did that a ton as well....Dale Sveum. He said "You know" like five times a minute! LOL
  16. I'm glad. Vinnie was a nice kid. I played Lakes ball with him and wish him the best of luck.
  17. I think Fielder should bat third against righties. This would allow him to get better pitches against a favorable matchup.
  18. 4 and a half.
  19. Gagne was decent down the stretch. I just hope he doesn't play during the home opener against the Cubs.....please no!
  20. I would say if we were extremely lucky we could get a Matt Garza type; a pitcher who has a high ceiling but hasn't had the true breakout yet. Other Ideas: Franklin Morales Simmons/Mazzaro Andrew Miller
  21. I agree. Costas is a complete baseball-pimp.
  22. I agree. This is like comparing apples to oranges. The SuperBowl is just more market-friendly as it's a rather compact event which occurs solely on a weekend. I don't really see a solution for Baseball without ruining the integrity of the champion.
  23. I would bet that the moves Boras makes by the perceived "misjudging of the market" are COMPLETELY INTENTIONAL.
  24. Prince is a special, special hitter and unless a potential deal is overwhelming, I would love a long-term deal.
  25. I rather take the risk on James as well as he may have a bit of upside left.
