  1. We would be dropping Broxton and Peralta?
  2. Just like anything else, people tend to flock to positivity and success. It is the easiest way to artificially stay positive in life... surrounded yourself with winning! I don't mean that to sound bad either... Brewers fandom is definitely different since the Prince, Braun, Rickie introduction... but it spikes and simmers with success just like any other team. Im assuming some folks from the state who are wearing Milwaukee gear now have some Cubs gear from a few years back and have Golden State gear and Duke basketball, etc. It is a different way to enjoy sports. Some people grab a team and hold on for life... others grab the ones that are generating the buzz to always be a part of the action. We currently have both types on our side during this run and it a fun spot to be in. A lot of buzz
  3. Best stat of the series thus far --> Wade Davis appearances: 0.
  4. We have a chance to go up 2-0 in a best of 5 series with our closer and an off day tomorrow. You throw Jeffress.
  5. You can't just insert Santana into Broxton's at bat because it helps your argument. It would have been Schoop hitting for Broxton. Santana would have hit in the 5th for Burnes instead of Schoop.
  6. I understand. I don't think it was a horrible call. But you really could have used Santana in that Broxton AB in the 8th too. Basically, I don't think it's as "easy" as you're claiming. At the very least, there was a downside. Your best PH is no longer available, and there are 6 innings to play. The Rockies starter yesterday was right handed. The decision was between Granderson and Santana I think and my assumption is Counsell didn't want to burn his only left handed bench bat that early in the game. If we just wanted to get a guy on base in front of the top, Granderson is the better option. He walks a lot, his OBP is better. I don't think there is a wrong answer there between Granderson and Santana.
  7. Im a bit confused. You talk about building a super pen and then you name our current bullpen. How is this bullpen different then today's?
  8. This. The reason there are rules in the regular season as to usage is 1) keep arms at peak performing levels and 2) keep everyone healthy so when the playoffs hit they can pitch as needed as often as that is. They don't want to throw Hader every game they play... but if he needs to throw in 15 of 19 games in some capacity this post season to get it done... then he needs to throw in 15 games. Obviously they need to be smart about it... but I'd venture to say everyone other than Woodruff is a full go tonight.
  9. Branyan.
  10. That statement was in general. I don't want to see him pinch run on a double switch, be forced into the line-up and then have to bat 2 times in a playoff game. He is close to worthless at the plate. imo His OPS and SLG % this year were higher than Perez and on par with Pina. He strikes out too much and doesn't walk enough ... but 'close to worthless' is not correct. I'd rather he only hit in dire situations as well... but you might be stretching it.
  11. My little knowledge believes this is the answer. If every arm in the bullpen will be expected to throw more than an inning... Cedeno and Jennings become not as valuable AND like mentioned above, we will need the bats.
  12. These are 2018 stats... 13. Missing Freeland possibly/probably gives us another game against a RHP and I like our lineup better against a righty so I'm happy about that. I have messed with pitching matchups about 15 times since last night and THINK the right answer is to throw Miley in G1, Gio G2, then Chacin in G3, Peralta G4. My only additional thought, are we nervous about Peralta throwing on the road in the playoffs? Gio has been there before. Do we throw Peralta in G2 and save Gio on the road in G4? However the Rockies hit LHP really well so the thought of them getting hot at Miller Park against a couple of soft tossers gives me a little pause. Giving them any momentum going back to Colorado is not ideal. I would love to throw Chacin at home in G2, but it just makes too much sense for him to throw in Colorado on regular rest where he has pitched so much before. Woodruff/Burnes are the piggybacks in the first two games I think. First signs of trouble gets them into the game. So excited/nervous. I think a HUGE key to this series is the combination of Burnes/Woodruff/Knebel/Peralta being called on to face the gauntlet of DJ/Story/Arenado, etc in the middle innings. If we can navigate that part of the order with our hard throwing righties .. I love our chances.
  14. This is exactly my roster as well. I would love to find a way to get Broxton on there... but I think the extra arm is needed.
  15. Only positive thoughts for the next few weeks...
  16. This makes the most sense to me. Also, I'll repeat the question someone else asked earlier this morning. Anyone know when they will announce the 25 man roster, or when's the deadline? I'm also on board with this however I am biting my hand hard in doing so ... because throwing two lefties against Colorado and THEN going to play 2 games at their place could be a tough ask. I almost want Peralta to piggy back the first two games. If either Miley or Gio get in trouble... it is a quick hook and Peralta is on to clean up. If both Wade and Gio get through ok ... Peralta gets Game 4.
  17. Without looking at the numbers, I'd be willing to bet the strikeout differential from last season to this is going from an outfield of Santana/Broxton/Braun to Yelich/Cain/Braun. I'm guessing those two additions to the team reduced 100+ strikeouts from our totals...
  18. I mean, he hit .277 last year. Your point isn't lost ... but the kid can hit a bit, he just couldn't get out of his own head this year. Hopefully he is good to go the next few weeks. Go Crew!
  19. The Brewers have won every start Gio has had since being acquired and he has a sub 3 ERA since coming here and he has the most post season experience on the staff. It looks like a tough matchup or him ... but he has to be there.
  20. If Chase is throwing this series.. it better be at Miller Park. The Rockies will hit 7 HRs off of him at Coors.
  21. He pitched the top of the 10th *keep. My bad.
  22. Keep burning through pitchers boys. Let's get Hamels in this game.
  23. i would hope we could have a thread here for guys with tickets so we could sell them (or in my case buy them) to BF.net people?
