  1. I don't think a lot of people understand they are always calling out to their bullpen when they do that. It's actually kind of fun being at a game by the bullpen (minor leagues especially) and watching the bullpen call for a shout out after a HR.
  2. Haha, I was outside and came back to see Chourio is "now a DH" and thought he did something bad. Then saw the home run and we are mad he didn't bring that back?! Some of you are DH fans 😆
  3. Tough finish to the inning. Great swing by Joey.
  4. I saw Tobias got blown up in his last start ... I haven't really been tracking him this year. I just saw his numbers 😢 I wonder how much leash/action he would have gotten here had he stayed given how the year has unfolded. He and Sproat have been a wash more or less.
  5. At this point I kind of want us to give Vaughn 10 starts against RHP pitching so his overall numbers can go below .300, etc and we don't have to have this convo every single game. .. and if he proves against his norms and plays well then I'll take the crow and the Crew will have probably won a bunch in the process.
  6. 22 month recovery? Quinn said he can begin playing catch after 12 weeks. Is there precedent of this being an 18 month+ recovery if the surgery goes well?
  7. These boards are the best thing re: Brewers fandom and conversation on the internet. The IG threads threaten daily to be another Twitter or FB world ... but the message boards themselves have so much good in them from fans who seem to have a genuine interest in player and organizational growth while also understanding and appreciating the process of both those things. Agreed with the above commenter that the above attached is an example of that.
  8. I don't disagree and I don't claim to have the answer. I assume Murphy differentiates between a full day off from baseball activity and a half day off from baseball activity, but I am just inferring.
  9. I don't know the answer but maybe the thinking is they want him starting every game against the Braves so it was either today for a day off or it would have to wait until Monday? A lefty on the mound is favorable to play Sanchez ... so today makes sense in that regard I guess.
  10. Neurogenic. Here is a long clip McCalvy just posted on Priester talking about it. This is worth the watch I think listening to Quinn. https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/2067626770816233769?s=20
  11. Strasburg will be the face of "fear" for TOS forever I think. Admittedly, I am not very knowledgeable on this at all - this article from MLB I just dug up helped a bit: What is thoracic outlet syndrome? Here’s everything you need to know
  12. I'm just now thinking what a missed opportunity Ashby had to wear Ricky Vaughn glasses this series...
  13. I think what you are saying is valid, I also think it is a different topic than what was being originally responded to. You are arguing for getting arms to matchup against LA in the playoffs. The original comment that started the convo was inferring we don't have arms to get us through the season. I think those are two different topics. I think your point is far more agreeable than the other poster's.
  14. Drohan has been good. I enjoy watching him pitch. Patrick has been very good. I enjoy watching him pitch. Henderson was awesome. Woodruff was good. Crow had moments, Gasser has had moments, Sproat has largely struggled. That group, collectively, has been good. "Pray for rain". So many around here love drama just for drama's sake. I'll never understand it.
  15. By my count, the Braves also had 5 different relievers go multiple innings yesterday to clean up the double header. It would be a treat to have them dig into that pen again today going into our series.
  16. The Frelick/Vaughn platoon (things I never thought I'd find myself saying before the season started - Part 12) was 3-5 with 3 RBI and a run scored today.
  17. The way Cooper had the widest grin after his first at-bat and his first hit and after his first run scored and after his first RBI, etc ... I hope he plays the game like that forever.
  18. Also, I know this could start another fire fight and I don't mean this in any way other than to make a comment about having the weapon on the bench. If Sal can start hitting and Bauers stays on his streak... Having Vaughn available in a big spot to pinch hit for whoever they bring the lefty in to face (Mitchell/Sal) is an incredible weapon.
  19. I don't mean to pick on the guy, but that Cooper at bat is everything we've wanted from Joey over the last 18 months.
  20. I wonder what the numbers say in terms of defensive difference with Sal in right and Bauers at 1st versus having Bauers in right and Vaughn at 1st..
  21. I was thinking about Kuhnel last night. The crooked hat, the garbage man physique, the hint of confusion in his eyes.. He has a little bit of a John Rocker aura to him. I think if he purposely sailed a 98 mph seed to the backstop every other appearance and then looked at his hand like he wasn't quite sure what happened... I think it would make him fractionally more effective. Just give the hitters a fragrance of doubt that he entirely knows what he is doing :)
  22. I wonder what the respective splits are against RHP between AV and SF?
  23. I could be wrong about this but I remember Pratt doing the same thing after he signed his? Someone can fact me on that. A little "prove it" pressure, maybe?
  24. Matos 4-4. A cool .379/.500/.1328 through his first 29 at bats. Casual.
