  1. Durbin 0-4. Golly he needs a busted bat single somewhere. This has got to be stressful in a new place.
  2. Both MLB.com and ESPN have that Ortiz at bat as an error on Williams... that's a tough break for both parties, that ball was torched.
  3. You still have no idea what I'm talking about and that's ok. This has nothing to do with Garrett Mitchell or Joey Wiemer. I'm talking macro vs micro performance. It's ok if you and I don't know how to talk to each other my guy! Go Brewers. We can be done here.
  4. Dang, just looking at scores ... Shane Smith got rocked by the Marlins.
  5. Hamilton gets an assist on that one I think... he has a Gomez aura on the bases.
  6. Considering what I'm referring to Wiemer is incredibly relevant. But we don't need to keep doing this, I appreciate the convo. Obviously, we are talking about two different things.
  7. Absolutely and this is the kind of macro perspective and conversation that allows teams to identify cast offs and 'he is what he is' types who just had other uphill circumstances that stunted development. There are a lot of teams who should be salivating at the prospect of the Brewers cutting ties with Garrett Mitchell and his < $1mil salary.
  8. Yeah, I don't mind the criticisms of the player for his warts but calling him a finished product is a wild take. Luis Lara has like 400 more professional plate appearances than Mitchell does. Luke Adams has over a hundred more. Brock Wilken has the same amount. Cooper Pratt will have the same amount soon. He just hasn't gotten game reps like his peers have. There is another former Brewers farmhand who is playing for the Nationals right now who came up with Mitchell and is just now getting to 2000 career plate appearances. Just had a historic start to the season at the plate. We ran him out of town years ago when he "couldn't figure it out" when he was just crossing ~1000 plate appearances.
  9. He may never be a finished product if he can't play, but after hearing you say that I don't think that is what you are meaning anymore. I think you are just saying he is running out of time, which is a whole different discussion and one that I would be more apt to agree with.
  10. Because if we are counting Milb and MLB as professional at bats ... they have roughly the same number of at bats in their careers. If Mitchell doesn't get regular at bats to start this year ... Pratt will have more professional at bats than Mitchell in about a month. Mitchell has just over 1000 pro at bats. For reference, Sal Frelick was drafted a year AFTER Mitchell and has 2,400. I still wouldn't say Sal is a completed offensive player. I'm just saying to call Garrett Mitchell a finished product right now is a bit dismissive.
  11. A couple of interesting nuances that have been asked on Twitter and I thought were good discussion points. Regarding overturned calls, if it is a 3-1 count with a runner on 1st and the runner takes off for second and the pitch is called a strike and the runner is thrown out and then the better challenges and wins the challenge... The runner gets second base, correct? Additionally, if it is a 2-2 count and the runner takes off from first and the pitch is called a strike... If the catcher thinks it is borderline he should still throw down to 2nd, correct? Because if the play is challenged and overturned.. doesn't the runner get second base with no play made otherwise?
  12. Would you say Cooper Pratt is a finished product offensively?
  13. Matos would be a guy maybe who is toolsy who has never put it together. Mitchell has just never been healthy. I think there is a difference. BRef has him at 3.6 career WAR in ~400 career at bats. He has yet to play a full season of games in his career. Giving up on him now would be a Red Sox thing to do. At worst he is a great defensive outfielder with some power and speed. Great 4th outfielder to have.
  14. Amongst the hoopla of looking at who WAS on the rosters I didn't consider who is starting the year off of them. Let's just soon add Thompson to our hand up here. No complaints.
  15. I know it had been rumored but I'm still surprised Fischer and Pena are starting in Appleton. This lineup is as nice as we've had here in a while. Pena, Fischer, Bitonti, Adamczewski, Dinges, Payne, etc Pleased Meccage is here as well. Dorchies, Galindez, Baez, Dickinson, Ragsdale ... I'm not sure we could have asked for more to start up here in the Fox Valley.
  16. Oh nice, I didn't know that.
  17. At this rate we might be able to get Durbin back from the Sox for cash at the all star break. It's early... but they are never trading with us again.
  18. Wonder if Matos makes it to the park in time to start against the lefty..
  19. I'm not sure what just happened... Murph just got worked by Cash somehow.
  20. Mike Bordick is a crazy pull. Well done.
  21. ?? Go search the Brewers offensive stats so far this year and filter by OBP and then SB. He is going to be an asset.
