  1. The two are not comparable right now. Skenes is a Top 3 pitcher in baseball. Miz has had an electric 20 innings. The Brewers would need to overpay handsomely to get Skenes... and that is with Miz in the deal.
  2. It's a dollar bill or 4 quarters scenario. Bad teams don't need dollars, they need quarters to raise their floor. Good teams have a high floor and are looking to raise their ceiling.. they want the dollars (all things equal). Miz is a dollar bill. The Brewers have a bazillion quarters currently. Us trading Miz to acquire 5 more arms would give us like 16 starting quality pitchers and that doesn't help us right now. Hard pass on trading Miz.
  3. Can I ask where you got those numbers from?
  4. If the Brewers replaced Collins with Black I would go on a hunger strike until it was remedied.
  5. We are 58-40. I don't think you luck into that. I imagine it is possible to 'luck' into a .500 record if you are a below average team and 'luck' a winning record if you are a .500 team, etc .. so that concept can apply here. Are we one of the 3 best teams in baseball? Probably not ... so we have 'lucked' into that spot. But we are a good team and we are going to be pests in the post season. Who cares what our exit velocity is. We throw it well, we catch it well and we round 'em well. Try to stop us.
  6. 3rd best record in the league. 3rd best run differential. 7th most runs scored. 5th least runs allowed. This team is something else right now and if/when we get to the post season and the Uecker aura really starts building they are going to have a lot of the country fully pulling for them. Buckle up.
  7. Dodgers are currently looking at our backsides. 3rd best record in baseball. Sniffing Detroit and reaching for the Cubbies. What a crazy ride.
  8. I was ok with sending Henderson down. I was ok with sending Patrick down. I will not be ok if Rhys comes back and Vaughn gets sent down.
  9. We have got to be so annoying to play against. We have seven of the exact same player in our lineup every single day... a bunch of scrappy mosquitoes that just won't go away.
  10. I think your suggestion is more than reasonable. I think raising the floor for this particular squad could be just as impactful as raising the ceiling.
  11. The easiest and most impactful upgrade the Brewers can make in the next two weeks is an upgrade to Bauers. If we can get a power bat to pinch hit late that can spell against tough RHP ... that will make a difference.
  12. Did that graphic just show that Contreras is hitting under .220 against left-handed pitching?
  13. The first bat I am actively trying to get if I'm Arnold is Josh Naylor. Bauers just needs to be upgraded.
  14. Priester and Durbin so far. Just need a big knock from Vaughn and Matt Arnold will have single handedly beaten the Dodgers tonight. Maybe we can start criticizing him then...
  15. ... and we are off! Good luck to all during the dog days and then the final stretch, should be another fun one.
  16. Now that I think about it this guy might be Brewers888's burner account... one left and the other is now here.
  17. .. and dare I ask where you are getting your info? You have a few insiders with all the other clubs?
  18. In a world where everyone's opinion is valid and matters... this is an incredibly terrible take.
  19. What is the QO projected to be this year? Is it north of $22m? I think it all will be in the details when it's all said and done. If Milwaukee only offers a QO and some other team offers him 3yr $75m ... what is he supposed to do? If Milwaukee offers him 2 yr $44m and instead he accepts a deal elsewhere for 2 yr $45.5m ... then I will be scratching my head a bit wondering what is going on. Woodruff needs to do what is best for he and his family. The Brewers need to do what's best for Milwaukee. Hopefully those two things are the same thing.
