  1. Not sure why everyone keeps on bringing up Lux. Is it because he is from WI? I don’t get the obsession over him. He is not that great of a player. If you are trading Burnes for Lux plus probably should just give them Peralta while we are at it.
  2. Decision for the Mets job is supposedly coming to an end by next week. Quick edit the finalists for the Mets job are Counsell, Kotsay, Green and Mendoza. Also Cohen will be meeting with the finalists to talk financials.
  3. All mocks have Williams and Maye going 1-2. It is possible that Harrison goes #2 but the Packers would have to be picking #3 if they are not they are not getting Maye or Williams. The two best players in the draft are Williams and Maye as this is a QB league. Harrison is a special talent but the NFL places so much value on QB's that I just don't see a team passing on either Williams or Maye with the #1 or #2 pick. Harrison will be the firs WR drafted but I don't believe he will go #2 unless the Bears are picking 1 and 2. The Cardinals also only have maybe one winnable game against the Texans or Bears. Everyone else they play are .500 or better. If you have watched any Cardinals games you should know they absolutely suck and probably shouldn't have won a game so far this year. The Packers have a far better team than the Cardinals. The Bears are playing their backup QB who didn't even get drafted. The Bears defense is still a patch work of bad even with Sweat added. If you think the Packers safeties suck just check the Bears safeties out. Also the Bears pass rush a wet blanket would get more sacks and QB pressures than this team. Only Moore and Mooney have really contributed offensively for the Bears. Kmet has been fine but the QB can't get to the second or third read before they are sacked or getting pressured. Fields may miss the rest of the season with his thumb injuries. Even with Love being as bad as he has he isn't as bad as the Bears backup QB. I just don't see the Packers losing out which is what they will have to do to get the #1 or #2 pick in the draft. It is just not happening. The #3 pick is also only about a 40% chance of happening. Just looking at the schedules I just don't see the other teams winning enough. The Cardinals probably only have one win on their schedule. The Packers are not going to finish 3-14 or 2-15 they just won't. They are not bad enough to finish like that as the other teams they are battling are far worse than they are. The Packers have at least two wins against the Bears and Panthers then they probably have another against the Giants. That is three wins right there and that takes them out of the top 3 picks and puts them at 4 or 5.
  4. Probably would have been the same outcome season wise. The playoffs are too much of a crap shoot so no idea beyond the season.
  5. The Packers would have to win maybe one or two more games to have a chance at Maye. Right now it is Williams and Maye at 1 and 2. For the Packers to get the #1 pick they will have to lose the rest of their games and hope for the Cardinals and Panthers to win 2 more games. The most likely scenario for the Packers is a pick within the 4-6 range which means you are not getting Maye or Williams unless you trade up. As it stands right now the Bears have the #2 and 3 pick in the draft. The Bears have the Panthers and Cardinals on their schedule left and those are the only two winnable games for them. The Bears have Lions (2), Vikings, Browns, Cardinals, Panthers, Falcons, Packers and Saints left to play. That is at least 4 guaranteed losses with 3 maybe losses and 2 likely wins. The most likely scenario for the Bears is probably 3-6 for the rest of the season. That would put them at 5-12 but I think they only win 2 more games and go 4-13. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears only win 1 or none the rest of the year. Fields will be out versus the Saints and it is looking like he will be out against the Panthers also. He may return against the Lions either in week 11 or week 14. He could also be out for the season. If Fields is out for the season I don't see the Bears winning more than 2 games and they probably only win one or none. The Packers have the Rams, Steelers, Chargers, Chiefs, Lions, Giants, Buccaneers, Panthers, Bears and Vikings. I think the likeliest scenario is the Packers going 4-6 to finish the season. That puts the Packers at 5-12 behind the Bears if the Bears win 3 games that is which I am not sure they will. At 5-12 you are probably looking at the #4-8 pick in the draft. I just don't see a scenario where the Packers will be able to get in the top 2 pick range. They would have to play worse than the Bears, Cardinals, Panthers, Patriots and Giants. I am not sure the Packers are going to be able to do that. The Cardinals have the toughest remaining schedule so they probably have the #1 pick all locked up right now. The Bears more than likely will have two picks in the 2-5 range.
  6. Nelson Cruz retires.
  7. I am assuming this means Houser will be traded or won’t be offered arbitration.
  8. All they get is a head start on negotiating a contract with him. They could franchise tag him also.
  9. 1 the challenge to win in Milwaukee or Cleveland would be far greater than in NY. 2 he already knows Arnold and gets along with him. So only a negative for Cleveland somewhat. 3 Cleveland has paid their managers well in the past. Unknown for the Brewers on money but they are not shy on spending and extending their budget.
  10. It was supposed to be as high as $100mm but MLB said they could only take out $50mm to cover. It is in the article linked above if anyone is wondering where I am getting that from.
  11. Maybe at the end of the season but not during. The owners don’t like to fire HC’s until the end of the season unless the HC does something morally wrong where they have no choice.
  12. Right but still they have to bypass the Bears(Panthers) and Cardinals. Maybe they bypass one but all three that maybe tough. If Fields is out for much longer I don’t see the Bears winning many games. Right now Carolina is the only maybe on their schedule and a toss up with the Packers. Every other game looks to be a certain loss for them. Chiefs Rams and Chargers I believe are the only tough games for the Packers left other than the Lions? I think the Packers could pick as high as 3 but I am not sure they will be bad enough to be 1 or 2.
  13. Arizona has a rather hard schedule with their remaining games. Which should put the Cardinals in the top 3. The Bears have an easy schedule but they are horrible and haven’t shown any improvement over last year. So Bears and Cardinals should be the 1-3 picks.
  14. If he does he will need to trade with the Bears or Cardinals to do so unless one of them takes someone else with the 1-3 picks which is possible but not likely. The Bears are probably the only team that will trade out of their pick at least one of them. One will be used for a QB or a OT or maybe for a WR. I believe the Bears and Packers have traded in the past. I think it was a first round pick in the 70’s? So there is some history of that happening. Maybe Arizona trades out of the #1 pick but that would take at least the Packers first round pick in ‘24 and ‘25 to do so along with some other picks. Maybe the Packers trade for Murray instead????
  15. No McDaniels would also be the DC. Who else could you get to orchestrate a defense than the brilliant offensive mind of McDaniels! You just can’t beat it!
  16. McDaniels the next Packers HC!
  17. LOL Vikings.
  18. They needed a pass rusher but probably should have waited until FA.
  19. Well Ken, thank you captain obvious……
  20. I agree for the most part. Locke looks good and then looks bad at times. I think it is just a repetition issue right now. There are some things he needs to cleanup but that will come with time. Defensively against the pass they were great. Some of this was because of the opposing teams QB. They covered the #1 WR in all of college football exceptionally well. It was the running game where the Badgers defense didn’t do all that well against. Ohio State’s RB looked like an NFL RB. So I am not going to knock them all that much for giving up the yards they did. It is very difficult to shutdown both the run and pass when you have exceptional players at both spots. Ohio State’s TE also was a non factor all game another impressive feat by the defensive unit. Center is still an issue for the offensive line. A lot of poor snaps still. Though it seems there weren’t as many in this game. This was a good loss. They weren’t absolutely destroyed like usual in the first half and didn’t give up after the first half like in the past. Even though they were never in a position to win they still never gave up and tried to get back into the game. Hopefully this is something they can build on going forward.
  21. I swore there was an article where Adams said he wanted a commitment from Rodgers that he would be there for the next few years but never got an answer.
  22. The only other Big Ten team I will root for is Michigan State in basketball everyone else I don’t care about and will never root for them. Izzo is my favorite head coach in basketball and if they are not playing UW or Marquette I will root for them.
  23. That still doesn’t mean all that much and doesn’t provide any information. It is basically just saying I heard something from someone who knows something and they said thing about things. That is the information that article provided. Basically it provided nothing of importance.
