  1. The Yankees were the team I was thinking Stearns will go to. Maybe the Yankees give Cashman one more year to win a WS and then they go with someone new. It has been a long time for Cashman in New York. I just don't see Stearns taking the job away from his friend Eppler on the Mets. It would be a demotion for Eppler if Stearns were to become the POBO of the Mets as Eppler would then become the assistant GM with the GM title.
  2. These can be very pricey. Best bang for your buck would be the Meta Quest 2. https://www.meta.com/quest/products/quest-2/ It comes with one free game but has a price tag of $399.99. It is unlikely these will go down in price on black friday or even cyber monday. The Quest 2 is probably the best out of all of the others and is the cheapest by far. The Quest 2 can connect to your phone through bluetooth but you need to have the Oculus app installed on their phones. Should work the same on a tablet.
  3. Quero should already be in the top 10 for catchers he may not be the #1 catcher but he is definitely in the top 10 for all MiLB catchers. Offensively he is not there yet but defensively he could step in and play in MLB today. Quero is very close offensively to Harry Ford who MLB has ranked as the 7th best catching prospect. If Quero starts off fast in the first half next year he should be in the 50-75 range in prospect rankings. What is holding him back in the prospect rankings is his offense once that comes around he will take off in the rankings.
  4. Right now it doesn't look like they will. If a team comes calling to interview one of their execs then maybe they will promote if they really like that exec. Similar to what happened to Arnold in the past.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if Eppler will be the POBO at the end of next season if the Mets are in the playoffs again next year. He should be a very popular name for GM for a few teams. Probably the Padres or the Angels if they falter again. If Cohen is serious about not pursuing Stearns then Eppler is either the POBO or he has gone to another team and Stearns is the new POBO/GM. There really isn't a difference between POBO and GM they are basically the same thing just a different title. The POBO is the GM and when the POBO is the GM the GM is just an assistant to the GM. Jed Hoyer is currently the POBO for the Cubs but is basically doing everything that a GM would do. Carter Hawkins is GM in name only as he is really just the Cubs assistant GM to Hoyer.

  7. These are just titles and a way to justify not allowing teams to interview someone in the organization. But I wonder if the Brewers will hire someone to be the GM. It would be smart to hire and delegate some of the responsibilities. Being a GM of a baseball team is like being the POTUS, well actually even more demanding as the President actually gets to take days off unlike a GM or POBO.
  8. It happens. One year I had the 2nd most points in a league and finished in last place. I only won like 4 games that year. It was like every week I would face someone who had a perfect week and absolutely destroyed me by 30-50 points.
  9. Bears trade Roquan Smith to the Ravens for a 2nd and 4th round pick. https://www.nfl.com/news/bears-trade-lb-roquan-smith-to-ravens-for-draft-picks I think the next player to be traded by the Bears will be David Montgomery.
  10. Well it was competitive until the 4th quarter. Everything fell apart for PSU in the 4th quarter.
  11. This is false. Even with losing Westburg they have Gunnar Henderson who will either be the Orioles 2B, SS or 3B in '23. They also have Connor Norby who is similar to Turang. They have Max Wagner and Coby Mayo who will either be boom or bust prospects. There is quality for the Orioles in the IF. The Orioles also have recently drafted SS Jackson Holliday who comes in as the 5th best SS prospect in MLB and Norby is ranked in the top 10 for 2B. They also have a very intriguing SS in Darell Hernaiz, an INF in Cesar Prieto and Maikol Hernandez. Hernandez is further away as he was in the 2021 international signing class. Some scouts have compared him to Alex Rodriguez and Carlos Correa but from the scouts I have talked to that is mostly because of his athleticism and size. He is still very raw but they like his swing.
  12. It will either be a promotion or Arnold will be running everything. Arnold was mostly promoted to GM to keep him away from other teams. I don't think the Brewers will hire another GM maybe the current Astros GM who may leave after this season. I am not sure if that would be a lateral move for them or a move down. I don't really expect the Brewers to sign anyone to be the GM it will more than likely be a promotion for someone.
  13. Looks like this stopped after the 2020 season. Hopefully they bring it back.
  14. Chafin has a player option for the '23 season at $6.5m. I think he will exercise that option as I don't think he will get more than the $6.5m and I don't think he will get more than 1-2 years. Maybe he declines his option if he thinks he can get more than 1-2 years.
  15. You are not going to be 100% on your picks in the draft even when picking early. There are a lot of duds in the draft.
  16. How about trading Woodruff to the Angels for Logan O'Hoppe, Ky Bush and Alejandro Hidalgo. Brewers get the Angels 1, 4 and 22 ranked prospects. O'Hoppe is MLB ready at catcher and could split time with Caratini in '23 and Feliciano in '24. This gives the Angels a good starting pitcher in Woodruff and the Brewers get a young catcher a promising LHP and an intriguing RHP.
  17. They can trade Brown after the World Series is over, so the day after the World Series is over all of the players who were drafted this year can be traded. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/mlb-fixes-the-trea-turner-problem-for-everyone-else/
  18. The Yankees are a fare more prestigious organization than the Mets. It doesn't really matter how much money Cohen offers Stearns or if the Mets were Stearns favorite team or if he is friends with Eppler. If the Yankees are offering the same position that the Mets are the Yankees win.
  19. Before Stearns was hired Arnold was someone I wanted the Brewers to go after. He was one of the key execs that helped Friedman when he was in Tampa. Arnold is highly regarded in the baseball front offices.
  20. That won't matter when the Yankees come calling and asking him to replace Cashman.
  21. I think Stearns is leaving for New York but not for the Mets. It will be with the Yankees as Cashman's contract is up this year and that spot may become open.
  22. I think Bart might be an easier get than anyone else that has been mentioned. Also Bethancourt will be on arb1 in Tampa so he may also be available. Bethancourt has an estimated $1.8m in arbitration and he played decently for both Oakland and Tampa. I could also see the Braves shopping d'Arnaud to save some money. Vazquez at 2/3 years is going to be something around $24-36m which puts you around $8-12m a year and I think it will take at least 4-years to get him. Pina signed a 2-year $8m contract last year with the Braves to be the backup catcher. Vazquez is going to be double that. I just don't see Vazquez being worth double to triple what Caratini is worth so signing Vazquez at 2-3 times what Caratini is going to make is just not a wise decision. If the Brewers could get Vazquez on a deal closer to $4m a season sure sign Vazquez but that is not happening.
  23. He was just angrily saying sooory. Really impressive start by the Bucks so far without Middleton.
  24. Eagles get Quinn from Bears for a 4th round pick. A really solid return for the Bears here.
  25. I know some managers want to see prospects play in an actual game that they are at so they can get a feel for them.
