  1. I think JD Martinez is going to have to take a deal somewhere around $10-12m for one year. I just don't see that big of a market for him. Josh Bell is a notorious one half is good and then the other is bad you just don't know which half it is going to be. Career by month: Career by half: By half and year: 2022 2021 2019 2018 2017 Conforto will probably get the most but definitely a 1-year prove it deal. With Joc Pederson the Brewers have tried previously but they didn't this past off season. Bellinger maybe done but I wouldn't mind him on a 1-year deal but no more than $8m.
  2. That is interesting. Maybe he is going to get an invite to spring training with the MLB team?
  3. Da Bears look better against the Patriots than the Packers did just sayin.
  4. It was a to go cup and sipping tea is better through a straw than gulping the thing. Plus the to go cups wax makes tea taste even weirder.
  5. Rumors of the Bucks being interested in Crowder. Will be hard to trade for him without creating a hole somewhere else. Would probably be Hill and Allen to offset the salary I think haven’t checked if that is what would be needed or not. Trading Allen would create a huge hole at SG.
  6. I hate paper straws they make everything taste horrible.
  7. The average attendance in Phoenix is about 7k. So in Milwaukee that is probably 3-4k a game on the high end will probably be something like 1-2k a game.
  8. Affirm is at 2.5 APY but that is only available through their app. Capital one is at 2.3, Lendingclub 2.85, sofi 2.5, Marcus 2.35 and Ally 2.25. Just stay away from the traditional national banks and you should be fine. Might want to check on a local credit union.
  9. MLB.tv used to have this you could change the audio to stadium. Haven’t checked if that is still an option in awhile.
  10. Hmmm I thought it was fine if we just copied the Brewers portion and not the whole thing. Though I could be misremembering things.
  11. Economically Padres because the last time the Phillies won the world series there was the great recession soooo.... Seriously though I would rather see the Phillies than the Padres. I just can't cheer for a team with Machado on it.
  12. Take it for what it’s worth but Keith Law had this to say about Uribe and Quero. https://theathletic.com/3703139/2022/10/18/mlb-prospects-arizona-fall-league/?source=user_shared_article Milwaukee reliever Abner Uribe was 97-100 mph with plus sink on the pitch and showed an 87-89 mph slider, coming off April knee surgery that ended his regular season after just three innings. He was in the Fall League last year as well, but walked 17 in nine innings, while so far this year he’s faced 16 batters in four innings and walked none. It’s all about strikes, because those two pitches are good enough to envision him in a high-leverage relief role if he can figure out where the plate is. Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero is one of the youngest players in the league, just turning 20 on Oct. 8. He looks it, as he’s listed at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, and I’m not sure I’m taking the over on either of those numbers. He’s got a short swing that should generate a lot of contact, with a plus-plus arm and very quick release behind the plate. He’s still young, so he has plenty of time, but he has got to get stronger or else he’ll be the next DJ Garrett Stubbs.
  13. Probably not but I think they need to give him at least 2-years to figure things out in Denver. It is not like he is having an Urban Meyer issue with the team. It looks like things are just not clicking offensively for him there right now with Wilson at QB. Even though Wilson is a veteran QB he will still need to make an adjustment(s) to Hackett's system. I think Denver will turn it around going forward.
  14. LOL NO! At best he would be a replacement for Suter with Suter being DFA'd in the bullpen.
  15. That jersey is awesome! It could mean so many different things but it is an absolutely awesome baseball jersey. Could also work for football.
  16. I think the only team that ignored the international market more were the Orioles. The Orioles finally started investing in international players the last couple of years. This is the Orioles spending: 2016 1 signing but at an unknown amount 2017 signed no one 2018 signed 5 at 800k 2019 signed 3 at 700k 2020 no signings 2021 signed 17 at 4.6m 2022 signed 24 at 3.0m The reason the Orioles have been bad for so long is because they ignored the international market from 2016-2019.
  17. LOL he looked so confused on what he was supposed to do.
  18. Both 1B and 3B is just basically a black hole after the top 5 prospects in MLB and for 1B it is basically after the top 3. A lot of the top players at 1B are a lot like Zavier Warren. 1B is just a bunch of who all throughout baseball. There are not that many good 1B and a lot are like Tellez. At 3B after the top 5 you have a bunch of who are these guys? At 3B for trades you realistically have Jung, Baty and Vargas. I think you can cross off Vargas from the list as I believe the Dodgers will buyout J.Turner this off season at $2m. That means you have the Rangers and Mets as possible trade partners for a 3B. At 1B it isn't even worth the time looking at those players.
  19. That is a mega trade and I am not sure there is a realistic trade for that. That is nearly $150m in surplus value between Burnes and Adames. That is a lot to trade for and I think you are getting into the realm of not getting full value for each player. The Nationals should have gotten more back than what they did for Turner. If the Nationals would have traded Turner alone they would have received more. The problem for the Nationals was that Scherzer was going to block any deal unless it was a team he approved to and that list was really short. So the Nationals had to make the deal or lose Scherzer and only get a draft pick back. While the Brewers don't have the problem of Burnes or Adames rejecting a trade there is the problem where you are asking for a lot coming back from the Dodgers. I don't think a team would want to trade that many pieces for two players. If you are going to include someone with Burnes I think you include Urias to the deal instead of Adames. With Urias that would be about $110-115m in surplus value being traded which is an easier number to work with. You wouldn't have to include 5+ players coming back to make that deal happen. I just don't see the Dodgers emptying the farm to trade for both Adames and Burnes. The Dodgers have some bullpen holes to fix along with deciding on their starting rotation for next year. I think Adames is definitely a fit for the Dodgers but that all depends on how they see Lux. Is Lux there everyday SS or is he better at 2B? If the Dodgers don't resign Turner I think they will look else where and won't sign one of the other SS's in FA. So a trade for Adames would be something I could see the Dodgers being interested in. This is still a team being ran by Friedman so I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even go after any of the FA SS's and instead goes after a SS like Adames in a trade. This is the same Dodgers team that decided to trade for Turner because they didn't want to pay a premium at SS for Seager.
  20. Nice strawman arguments. I work in the financial industry and it is completely cut throat and far more than the baseball industry. We use a lot of free information to proof and validate our data. Thinking MLB execs are not going to do this also is just asinine. Regardless if the site is wrong or right it is another data point to verify your information. Is your model right or is it wrong. Since other teams can’t see another teams valuation process a free one is just as good to compare your data points. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
  21. Just because you are contesting a move made by the team doesn't mean your opinion can't also be contested. There are a few posters on here who think their opinion is final and the truth. When they get questioned about their opinion they then go on the defensive and proclaim they are being attacked and can't voice their opinion. If you post your opinion expect someone to post their opinion on your opinion. This is how communication has worked for centuries it doesn't change because you posted it digitally. If you don't want someone to challenge your opinion then the best option is to not post your opinion or ignore the responses.
  22. I don't think you have ever worked with data before or used third party applications to proof your work. It is ok if you don't understand this. From banks to tech giants like Google they all use third party applications to proof their work. If they buy the third party application it is no longer a good audit tool to proof your work and is more than likely going to be your new model if you are going to buy it. The teams already have a system and they will probably just be using the site to check if their results against what someone else is doing. Hey it is free why pay for something when you can just use it for free?
  23. You are giving Vazquez $7.5m where he just barely outperformed Caratini? I mean sure if your goal is to set money on fire that is a good way to do it. Jose Abreu at $18m is also an overpay you may only get 100 games out of him and he is getting older. I like Abreu but no thanks at that price. Suter at $3m while removing Renfroe is a dumb idea. Suter pitched nearly all of his games in low leverage situations and that is way too much to pay someone to pitch low leverage situations. There are far better options in the minors than Suter to pitch those innings at a lower cost. Adding Benintendi wouldn't fix anything as he would either be batting lead off or batting second. That means you either have Yelich batting 2nd or Yelich batting 3rd or you have Adames batting 3rd or Adames batting 2nd. Take your poison pill how you want it but adding Benintendi would be a bad idea especially if you are replacing him with Renfroe. You basically just lost a power hitter in Renfroe who is probably your best #5 hitter. You effectively make the team worse by replacing Renfroe with Benintendi. Having Mitchell, Feliciano, Frelick and Turang all on the team is not going to happen. That is way too many rookies on the team. I don't see this team finishing better than this years team the way you have it constructed. At best I think your team finishes with the same record or worse. The bullpen actually looks worse so props on doing that.
  24. The Badgers WR's are not all that talented. They have stones for hands and football IQ of a peewee football receiver. Athletically they are better than what they have had in the recent past but they are still extremely poor at route running. In the 4th quarter before the game tying TD there were two WR's running the exact same route in the same spot they actually ran into each other. The WR's at Wisconsin are an absolute joke and have been running wrong routes for awhile now. Some of the mistakes are on Mertz with his bad passes and some are on the WR's where they have ran the wrong route or absolutely drop catchable balls. The only route these receivers are ever able to run correctly are the 5-yard slant routes. Anything more complicated than that and they don't know what they are doing. The Illinois game is a perfect example of how bad the WR's are on this team. They had a bunch of miss catches where the ball went right through their arms. I don't think any of the WR's on this team can make an over the shoulder catch consistently other than consistently whiffing on them. Even balls that are somewhat contested these WR's will more than likely gator arm the catch or will completely have the ball go through their arms without even touching the ball. UW has 0 talented receivers on this team and it is why you are seeing Allen in the passing game more which he should have been in from the start. Also having 0 TE's to pass to is hurting this team as the offense is built around the TE for the passing game. While Mertz has been bad the WR's have been equally if not even worse than Mertz. The offensive line is also beat up and gives Mertz on average about 1-2 seconds to go through his reads. I don't see any QB being successful with this offensive line it is an absolutely horrible offensive line. None of the offensive lineman can even hold a block for a few seconds and they get confused on simple stunts on who should be blocking who. There was a sack where the left guard just sat there and watched the defensive tackle run right by him and he looked confused on what he was supposed to do about it. He didn't even put his hands on him and stood there like a statue. If he moves his feet to the left just a little bit the defensive tackle would have had to go wider which would have given the QB another second to get rid of the ball. This offensive line feels like it hasn't practiced even the simplest of techniques. Either the coaching is poor which I doubt or the players are just extremely bad. I am going to go with the players being extremely bad on this one as Bostad has had some really good offensive lineman and it is his first year back as the offensive line coach.
  25. This team is just bad. Probably only one or two more wins for this team.
