  1. Probably something like what La Stella got from the Giants. So something like 3-years $18m. Which wouldn't get a 3rd round pick if he signs that this off season. I think La Stella is a good comp for Peterson for the max he would get. So somewhere around $5-6m a season
  2. I don't think the Brewers will have the payroll to be able to bring him back. The best option really is to hope he signs for enough to get a 3rd pick out of it in free agency.
  3. It is rumored that Oladipo will not be returning to the Heat. Some of the rumors have him going to Washington, Denver or Detroit on the MLE which doesn't make any sense at least not Washington or Detroit on the MLE. I could see Denver but I would think Bucks, Warriors, Lakers, 76ers or Nets would be more appealing to Oladipo on the MLE. Bucks and Lakers would probably be more appealing as there is a shot at more playing team at SG. Also the Bucks did trade into the 2nd round and picked up Hugo Besson but he will be a stash player and won't count against the cap. Besson will continue to play in New Zealand or more than likely in Europe.
  4. breakdancing at your age was probably not a good idea..... just sayin
  5. I think Hader is more than likely gone after this season it just doesn't make any sense for the Brewers to hang onto him. One of Houser or Lauer will also be traded. That should clear up enough salary to keep Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta, Lauer/Houser and Ashby as your starting 5. The bullpen should still be good with Williams taking over as the closer. If the Brewers want to keep Hader then the Brewers are going to have to rely on Wiemer, Taylor, Turang, Feliciano and others to replace all of the bats leaving. I don't see the Brewers bringing back Narvaez as that would be extremely expensive. I think the Brewers do bring back Caratini though yes he will be expensive but he will more than likely be the starting catcher with Feliciano/Jackson as the primary backup. If you think the Brewers will drop Caratini then it is probably a resigning of Severino with Feliciano/Jackson as the backup catcher. I would rather just pay Caratini at that point. So lets say the Brewers want to keep everyone but Caratini, Narvaez, Wong and Renfroe. The Brewers would have to replace all of those bats with someone so that probably means an offense that looks something like this: C : Severino and Feliciano/Jackson 1B : Tellez and J. Singleton 2B: Urias, Turang, P. Reyes SS: Adames, Urias, Turang, P. Reyes 3B: Urias and P.Reyes LF: Yelich, Taylor, Wiemer, Davis and Dahl CF: Taylor and Davis RF: Wiemer, Taylor, Davis and Dahl DH: J. Singleton, Tellez, Dahl and Yelich That is a rather brutal offense as you are not going to know what you are going to get from Wiemer, Turang and Feliciano if anything at all. Not to mention Singleton, Dahl, Reyes and Davis are not going to be all that great either. It just makes more sense after this season to kind of blow it up. Trade Hader, Houser/Lauer, Burnes/Woodruff and Caratini. That should bring enough back to do a soft reset where the Brewers will be competitive again in 2025. The Brewers can also get more prospects by trading Burnes/Woodruff and Houser/Lauer during the deadline. Either the Brewers do a soft reset or basically get a bunch of comp A and 3rd round picks for Burnes, Woodruff and Hader. The Brewers may get an extra 3rd round pick for Houser and Lauer also. Optimistically that would be 3 comp A's, and 5 3rd round picks in the 2024 draft. If any of them get injured it could be just a bunch of 3rd picks or nothing. That would be a really long rebuild if the Brewers only get draft compensation for losing Burnes, Woodruff and Hader. Here is the guide on free agent compensation going forward: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/guide-to-the-new-cba-draft-lottery-expanded-playoffs-and-more/
  6. I don't believe the Pirates would accept that. The Brewers will have to pay a premium to get Reynolds being in the same division as the Pirates. It is stupid but that is how teams work only way to change this is to somehow get the GM that gave up Aramis Ramirez for nothing to the Cubs. I think two of Wiemer, Frelick, Valerio, Turang or Black and one of Hedbert Perez, Gray, Mendez or Small along with a lottery ticket is closer to what the Pirates will be looking for. It is going to cost a ton to get Reynolds.
  7. It looks like MLB and MLBPA haven’t gotten real far in a decision for an International draft. A decision is due by July 25th.
  8. I am not sure what you are expecting from 4/5 starters it seems to be an unrealistic expectation. Your 4/5 starters are normally going to be 4-5 ERA pitchers which means they are going to have more blowup games. Houser and Lauer are probably the best 4/5 starters in the whole league. You are not going to get Burnes or Woodruff type of results from them. Maybe once or twice a month but that is about it. These starts will even out over the course of a season. Houser will be fine and Lauer will be fine. No the Brewers don’t need them to be better than your “typical” starting pitcher.
  9. Tellez reminds me of Adam Dunn.
  10. Houser and Lauer are your typical #4 or #5 starters. I guess everyone was fooled by their early success. Both even with their struggles recently are perfectly fine as the 4/5 starter.
  11. I think Oladipo would be a great get at the MLE. That is if he is willing to come to the Bucks for the MLE.
  12. He is still a negative defensively according to his advanced stats though not really a bad negative. I don't really like the advanced stats for 1B though. I don't think they tell the full story at 1B. How do you measure how well the 1B stretches for a ball? What about digging out a bad throw that doesn't account for an out or an error? What about digging out a bad throw over by a pitcher? Do you take into account how well a 1B blocks a ball that is spiked by a throw over?
  13. Also new this year the draft-and-follow is returning for any player drafted after the 10th round. A player who is drafted after the 10th round and they go to a JUCO they can be designated as a draft-and-follow player. The team will also have to sign the player before the 2023 draft. If the team doesn't sign the player before the 2023 draft that pick is then forfeited so if a player does well in JUCO they can refuse to sign and reenter the draft. The amount the player signs for will still count against the $225k slot. I believe this would count against the draft that they were drafted in so for teams that do draft-and-follow may not spend all of their draft pool. But then again if the player is going to significantly go over the $225k slot value then they are probably going to re-enter the draft.
  14. The Senate is looking into MLB's antitrust exemption. This is in regards to getting minor league baseball players paid correctly. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/u-s-senate-judiciary-committee-looking-into-major-league-baseballs-antitrust-exemption/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/06/28/mlb-antitrust-exemption-congress-letter/
  15. Unlikely on Narvaez and I really wouldn't want to subtract from the Brewers current catching core. Right now the best catcher on the trade market is Wilson Contreras and he is going to get the most attention in the trade market. Plus if the Brewers traded Narvaez it would be to a contending team probably the Giants who the Brewers would be competing with either for a Wild Card spot or in the playoffs. As for Cruz I don't think he is someone that would be a fit for the Brewers as he wouldn't really have a spot to play. I would prefer Mancini or Bell as they would be perfect platoons with McCutchen against RHP and both could play 1B in case Tellez needs a day off against a tough lefty.
  16. Greinke being Greinke
  17. 1. Joey Wiemer 2. Jackson Chourio 3. Brice Turang 4. Jeferson Quero 5. Sal Frelick 6.Hendry Mendez 7. Hedbert Perez 8. Mario Feliciano 9. Ethan Small 10. Brandon Knarr 11. Felix Valerio 12. Tyler Black 13. Garrett Mitchell 14. Joe Gray 15. Antoine Kelly 16. Eduardo Garcia 17. Zavier Warren 18. Abner Uribe 19. Micah Bello 20. Jakson Reetz
  18. Very weak for college pitchers. Seems to be a top heavy draft where most of the talent is but this is true for nearly every MLB draft. This draft seems to be very hitter heavy but that isn't really out of the norm for most drafts for MLB. There is a lot of value from the 2nd-5th round in this draft. High School players are ranked higher in this draft but there are a lot of tough signs so a team would have to be willing to go over slot to get some. Overall I think this is just an average draft class for MLB though Druw Jones and Elijah Green look to be good superstar like talent. There is also a lot of former MLB players kids in this draft which is weird and also making me feel old as CC Sabathia's son is also in this draft though he is currently unranked and is committed to Georgia Tech as a 1B/3B. I think I am going to change my pick to Sterlin Thompson 3B (Florida). He has a lot of power in his bat but it hasn't shown up during games. I think this is someone that the Brewers will pick to see if they can fix his timing issues and tap into that raw power. Thompson is also someone who can play all over the field which is the type of player that the Brewers have been targeting as of late in trades.
  19. Not without sacrificing games for Feliciano. Feliciano really needs to be playing nearly everyday to improve on his defense. Way too many passed balls and other issues for him to be sitting. Plus he is hitting fairly well at AAA right now though some more power from him would be nice.
  20. Connaughton is also coming back. Hopefully Portis is coming back also otherwise the Bucks are going to be short on bigs.
  21. Bucks go with Beauchamp.
  22. Beck has a problem with being impatient and will take overly aggressive hacks. Basically he is a clone of Hunter Renfroe. Beck has less holes in his swing compared to Melendez. Melendez’s issue with his swing is that it is a bit slow. Both have K issues but I would be less concerned with Beck’s than I would be with Melendez’s.
  23. You haven't read what the author is talking about. He is not talking about trickle down theory in fact it doesn't even exist. From Thomas Sowell's book Basic Economics: “’Trickle down’ has been a characterization and rejection of what somebody else supposedly believed.” But “no recognized economist of any school of thought has ever had any such theory or made any such proposal. It is a straw man. It cannot be found in even the most voluminous and learned histories of economic theories.”
  24. Neither of those links prove it to be wrong. They are just talking about the estimates and are talking about the deficit. You actually have to decrease spending in order to decrease the deficit which apparently our government officials don't understand. The basis behind cutting tax rates is to discourage people from investing in tax havens. If you lower the rate enough to where the tax havens are not as profitable there is more revenue coming in as people will tend to pay the taxes because the other investment opportunities pay more. When you get more people paying taxes you will get a higher revenue stream. Please read "Trickle Down" Theory and "Tax Cuts for the Rich" by Thomas Sowell. https://www.hoover.org/sites/default/files/uploads/documents/Sowell_TrickleDown_FINAL.pdf
