  1. I think Merrifield is done and he is on a decline similar to what Cain was on. I don't see Merrifield being a positive for the Brewers. No thanks on Walker he may improve the defense at 1B but that is about it, I would rather just stay with Tellez than trading assets for a maybe slight improvement at 1B. If the Brewers are going to trade for a 1B Mancini or Bell are far better options.
  2. He is in AA because the main catcher at AAA needs to be catching nearly every day. Feliciano needs to be working on his defense at catcher. It is the main reason why Reetz is still in AA and not in AAA. If Feliciano was struggling offensively in AAA sure you could make the case for Reetz but Feliciano is hitting AAA pitching. There just isn't enough playing time for both Reetz and Feliciano in AAA. It is also not hurting him being in AA rather than in AAA.
  3. I don't think they would do this for Mullins or do this trade now but Houser and Small would be someone the Orioles should be looking at this offseason. I think Baltimore will be very much interested in Houser this offseason along with a few other teams. If the Brewers decide to keep Woodruff and Burnes Lauer and Houser are probably on the outside looking in and one or both will probably be traded to clear some space in $'s. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bidding war from the Angels, Orioles and White Sox looking to add to their rotation and both Houser and Lauer would be good adds for those teams along with a few other teams. If the Rangers or Tigers don't want to go big and sell off a lot of their prospects for Woodruff or Burnes a good #4/5 starter would be a good compromise for them. Both Lauer and Houser fit into that good to great #4/5 starter. Lauer on the Angels would make that team a much better team and would solidify their rotation in the backend of it. Houser would also be a good target for the Angels. Both Houser and Lauer would allow for the younger pitchers the Angels have to develop into those #3 and #2 type pitchers while Houser or Lauer holds down the #4 or #5 spot and gives them innings. The Brewers wouldn't get a high impact prospect but a few good prospects should come back in return for either Houser or Lauer.
  4. Is there that big of a difference between 7-15? Both are ranked in that range so I don’t believe one is significantly more than the other.
  5. Jim Bowden has the Brewers trading for Bell and giving up Black. Bowden’s returns are usually higher than what it would take to get a player. Black depending on what list you are looking at is either just in the top 10 or just out of the top 10 similar to Gray. So my Hiura and Gray would actually be worth more than Bowden’s trade proposal.
  6. NFL Sunday Ticket will be moving to a streaming platform in 2023. Unknown at this time which one(s) it will be at this time. I am thinking Hulu or YouTubeTV will be getting the NFL Sunday ticket.
  7. Puking emoji times infinity as Pujols gets added to the NL All Star roster. I still believe Pujols and Freese tested positive in the same year Braun did in the playoffs but theirs were thrown out and not leaked. https://www.mlb.com/news/albert-pujols-miguel-cabrera-all-star-game-legacy-selections
  8. I think the Yankees would want an MLB player in return for Gallo at a minimum. The Yankees do need another OF so maybe something like Davis and a lottery ticket may get it done.
  9. I will go with Reetz and Knarr. I just can’t get behind a reliever no matter how good they are for MVP on the pitching side.
  10. Mancini is someone the Brewers need in their lineup as he isn’t an all or nothing hitter. He can also platoon with McCutchen against RHP as Mancini doesn’t really have severe splits and hits RHP about as well as he hits LHP. Ideally Bell would be the best fit and should cost about the same as Mancini in a trade. You could put Mancini in LF in an emergency while Bell is strictly a 1B/DH type. I think the Brewers will prefer Mancini over Bell. I think the Brewers add a bullpen piece and a backup OF just not sure yet on who.
  11. Looks like I got my answer today.
  12. That is basically standard reporting for ESPN. If you don’t play on the East Coast or in LA or Chicago you don’t exist to them.
  13. Another name to watch is Vanderbilt’s Spencer Jones. He is flying up teams draft boards comps to Judge when he was drafted by the Yankees.
  14. My predictions for the deadline: Benintendi - Yankees Mancini - Brewers Bell - Astros Montas - Cardinals Contreras - Giants Castillo - Dodgers Cruz - Blue Jays Mahle - Mets Robertson - Phillies
  15. This is incorrect. The current CBA allows for draft pick compensation for free agents. I posted a link earlier in this thread with the compensation rules.
  16. Jackson Chourio and Antoine Kelly are the only Brewers added to the roster. https://www.mlb.com/all-star/saturday/futures-game/roster
  17. Any updates on Garret Mitchell’s injury and if he will be back this year?
  18. That one was close to going out of the park on the fly.
  19. Tucker and Vildoza have been waived. Nwora has a qualifying offer from the Bucks roster is currently at 14 right now. If Nwora signs the QO it will be at 15 the max. The Bucks the last few years have only carried 14 players in the roster plus the two two way spots.
  20. Not really. I doubt the Brewers see much Reetz would have to improve and playing at AAA is not going to change that. The talent level between AA and AAA is miniscule at best and sometimes the talent in AA is far better than what is in AAA. AAA is normally the holding spot for someone who needs to work on something in their game. Turang it is hitting for power for Feliciano it is staying healthy and defense and for Small it is to fine tune his control. Majority of the time prospects only stay in AAA until they are past the super 2 date. All other players in AAA are AAAA players or players that the team use as reserve players on the roster. Reetz being in AAA doesn't really tell the Brewers much about him any more than what they would know with him at AA. With what he has shown so far this year I am confident he will either be traded or added to the 40-man. It wouldn't surprise me to see Reetz added into a trade package during the deadline.
  21. You can cross the Yankees off the list for Bell along with the Red Sox and Dodgers. The Yankees are not willing to pay any more into the luxury tax and would require the Nationals to either take back Gallo or Hicks along with a prospect or two. The Red Sox are set at 1B and DH so Bell doesn't fit there and the same with the Dodgers. That leaves the Giants who are already set at 1B. The Giants need an upgrade at C. The Cardinals don't really need a 1B or a DH so they are out also. The Mets also don't need a 1B or DH type. The Braves don't need a 1B or DH either the same with the Phillies and Astros. That leaves the Guardians, Rays, Rangers and Mariners. I am not sure there is a huge market for Bell as you seem to think there is. Mancini is also an option at 1B and DH and he isn't all that bad either. So a teams 15-20 ranked prospect and a throw in player sounds about right for Bell.
  22. All of the good teams have been picked up. What is left is the left overs and no one wants leftover yams after Thanksgiving. There just isn't a team beyond Notre Dame that would qualify as a threat to the teams in the B10 and SEC. Even if the ACC adds Arizona, Virginia, VA Tech, ASU and others that still is not enough to compete with the B10 and SEC. The ACC would just be the redheaded step child. I just don't see the ACC lasting for all that long even with the fines for leaving the ACC. If Miami decides to leave for the B10 then Clemson and FSU are going to leave for the SEC which then leaves Virginia, VA Tech, GA Tech, Duke, UNC, Syracuse, BCU, Wake Forest, NC State, Pitt and Louisville. Even if you add Arizona, ASU, Oregon State, Washington and others that is an extremely weak conference. Right now Miami, FSU and Clemson are holding the ACC together if all three leave or just two leave that conference is just done for. Right now with the way things are going you either join the B10 or SEC and that is it if you want to make the playoffs. Once the B10 gets its new TV deal and during the next discussions about the playoffs the independent teams (ACC, PAC, Notre Dame, etc.) will only get 1 spot while the SEC and B10 get the rest of the bids automatically. This is how I see the negotiations going once they renew after the bowl games. The B10 and SEC are going to dominate the negotiations and will be able to set it up so the majority of the playoff spots go to the B10 and SEC teams. I just don't see the teams outside the SEC and B10 being all that competitive as the majority of the blue chip prospects (4 and 5 star) are going to go to the SEC or B10 teams. That leaves a lot of 1-star recruits going to the other teams while the B10 and SEC fight over the 2-5 star recruits.
  23. All things being equal you go with the younger talent which Hiura would be than a vet since Hiura's Arb-1 is going to be very close to a veteran minimum contract. You go with the younger talent as they are more likely to improve on what they have been than the veteran player. If they are going to make the same amount or about the same amount then you take the younger player. Bell is not going to cost all that much and adding in Hiura makes a lot of sense for the Brewers and Nationals. Something like Hiura and Gray makes a ton of sense for the Nationals and is really close to the value that Bell has.
