  1. That isn't even the worst part about electric cars. The current infrastructure would collapse in on itself if 20% of the population switched to electric cars. There are not enough charging stations and we don't have enough nuclear plants to meet the demand. Instead of paying high prices at the gas pump you will be paying higher prices for electricity that is if you are not in the middle of a blackout. Electric cars are a good idea but we don't have the infrastructure nor the means to produce enough electricity to keep the electric cars going. Since our current government has decided that nuclear bad but we can build wind and solar. Wind and solar can not provide enough unless you are willing to also build more natural gas refineries but that is also not an option.
  2. This is the fourth-straight month that inflation has gone higher than the estimates. Inflation is currently sitting at 9.1%. Inflation increased by 1.3% compared to an estimated 1.1%. It looks like inflation should reach 10%. But the real question here is how high will it go? We are also starting to get into the danger area with inflation. The FED and the current administration didn’t act quickly enough and ignored the warning signs.
  3. The Brewers tried to trade for Bryant last year and were turned down by the Cubs. Happ has another year of service time left I think. I don't see the Cubs trading Happ to the Brewers though he would be a good bat to get.
  4. If the Brewers would have started Burnes today it would have been a wasted start depending on how long the delay is going to be today. Even a short one and I doubt the Brewers would bring Burnes back in so looks like today would have been a wasted start.
  5. I am assuming Dahl didn't have an opt out in his contract and asked the Brewers to release him. The Brewers then released him as they didn't plan on adding him to the 40-man or to bring him up to MLB. This feels like something the Brewers management would do if they didn't have plans on bringing someone up who has had MLB experience and asks for a release.
  6. Some changes to the rules are coming for the 2023-2024 season. Take fouls will no longer be an on the side foul and will change to 1 free throw and possession to the team being fouled. The team can also select the player they want to shoot the free throw. What this means is that teams won't be able to stop a fast break by committing a foul. Which I have always found as dumb it is a smart play by the player but just dumb for the team that made a good play and has to inbound the ball with the defense being able to set to stop the play. This will increase action on the court which is a good thing. The play in tournament looks to be staying permanently also.
  7. I still think going with a heavier and bigger ball is a better idea than messing with the mound. Changing the ball is also probably the easiest thing to implement from HS to College baseball. Wouldn't even need to change the balls weight or shape all that much. Making it slightly bigger and adding a few more ounces to the ball would all that would be needed.
  8. The Mets are rumored to only being interested in taking on financial players and are not willing to trade any of their top prospects. The Yankees are also unwilling to part with their top prospects and opposite of the Mets are looking to take on cheaper players. Gallo still is someone the Yankees want to trade away in any deal that they would be taking in significant payroll. I think we can cross the Yankees off for Bell as I don't see the Nationals willing to take on Gallo in return for Bell. The Mets are probably off the list also as I don't see them in need for a DH/1B type the same with the Red Sox. I just don't see a bidding war coming for players like Bell, Cruz and Mancini. It is just not lining up for that and if there will be a bidding war it will only be for a teams 10-15 prospect instead of the 15-20 range prospect. I just don't see this sellers market that some claim there to be. I don't believe teams are going to be bidding on all of these players who are very similar in skill set. Last year Schwarber who is very similar to Bell only brought back Aldo Ramirez from the Red Sox and was only ranked in the 15-20 range. I just don't see Bell bringing back much more than a teams 15-20th ranked prospect even with the expanded playoffs.
  9. In Arizona in the summer it is preferable to be in the house. But I listen to all of the games when working as most are on when I am working still or when driving home.
  10. That is a rather late in the season release clause usually these are earlier in the season. Was hoping the Brewers would have called up Dahl at least once to see if he had anything left at all.
  11. Keith Law has his latest mock out and he has the Brewers taking: https://theathletic.com/3413419/2022/07/11/mlb-mock-draft-2022-orioles/
  12. I think he is an interesting prospect but he looks to be a late round pick somewhere around 8th-10th round.
  13. Burnes pitching in the All Star game would be 2-innings maybe 3 at the most usually it is just 1 or 2 innings. It would basically be a bullpen session. The Brewers are also known as a team that will try and get their players into the All Star game not just getting there but actually playing. There are some bonuses that get paid out for this. For example there maybe a bonus stipulation for Burnes where he earns a bonus if he is named the starter for the All Star game. I didn't see anything in his contract about this when they avoided arbitration but it maybe something that is in the contract and is just not known at this time. There maybe a bonus for being selected to the All Star game and one for playing in the game.
  14. Unless the Brewers pickup Bell I think Hiura at DH makes the most sense against RHP. The best option would be to get Mancini and have him be the 1B against LHP and let Tellez have a few days off here and there. Mancini is also decent against RHP so he can play some DH or 1B if Tellez needs a day off. The only other problem to fix would be CF but if you add someone like Mancini or Bell that problem is not that big of a deal as you can just put whoever is in CF in the bottom half of the lineup. The Brewers really need a high average hitter to stick at the #3 spot. A high average hitter is what this team really needs especially in the middle of the lineup moving Tellez to the #4 or #5 spot and having Renfroe back will help the offense out but adding a high average hitter in the middle of that will help out even more. I think going forward the Brewers need to play Wong only against RHP and have Brosseau playing 3B on those days with Urias playing 2B.
  15. Gallo is probably the only player I would be interested in if the Yankees are looking to just do a salary dump. I think for Smith the Mets are going to look to get back more than he is actually worth.
  16. I think it is the bonus pool money. Otherwise this trade makes very little sense.
  17. Not really. The Giants need a catcher not an OF or 1B/DH, Padres need an OF, Braves need a starting pitcher or another reliever, Yankees need a CF, Astros need a catcher, Red Sox need pitching, Twins need pitching and LOL the other AL West teams not even worth discussing as they are out of the playoffs. The only teams that maybe competing with the Brewers for the same type of players would be the Giants and maybe the Astros depending on injuries. I don't see the other teams adding a 1B/DH type or even the same type of OF's the Brewers will be targeting. I just don't see it being a sellers market unless you are selling a catcher or pitching. Guys like Bell and Mancini are not going to be in high demand.
  18. Unlikely any team that faces the Brewers are not going to be thrilled about seeing Burnes and Woodruff along with the Brewers bullpen with Williams and Hader. That is not something a team is going to want to see. You are fooling yourself if you think that is something another team will want to see.
  19. I don't believe the Yankees will just give away Gallo. They will want to add another OF to their mix especially a CF type or another bullpen arm. I am not sure the Brewers have what the Yankees would be looking for in a possible OF maybe a Dahl for Gallo deal works here but I doubt it unless the Yankees are looking to do just a salary dump here.
  20. The problem with Mullins is that the Orioles see him as a piece that will be around when they are competitive again. The Orioles are not that far off either. They are not having a good year but they are playing better than they were last year and are far more competitive this season even in the AL East which is stacked right now. I don't see the Orioles giving up Mullins unless a team is willing to give up a couple top 100 type prospects. Mullins is far more valuable to the Orioles than he is on the trade market.
