  1. Mancini is a really good target as he hits right handed pitching as good as he does left handed pitching. Defensively he really shouldn’t see the OF at all. He would be a good platoon with McCutcheon at DH. When Tellez needs to take a day off or when facing a tough lefty matchup Mancini could fill in there also. Bell would be another good option but he would be a strict platoon with McCutcheon and only seeing right handed pitchers for Bell. Another option could be Benintendi but again that is a strict platoon with McCutcheon.

  3. The AA team needs bullpen help maybe Suter and Kelley can help them out because neither are helping the Brewers.
  4. Maybe if the team was up by 15 runs sure they wouldn’t be all that bad.
  5. Kelley and Suter need to be off the team already. Two absolutely useless bullpen pitchers.
  6. Narvaez is currently better than Realmuto and Tellez is hitting better then Hoskins. Like I said Harper is the only player on the Phillies that is a clear upgrade over the hitters the Brewers have.
  7. LOL I don't care about past years for Castellanos what is he doing in 2022? Renfroe: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 MIL MLB 40 159 9 .259 .296 .490 .336 114 0.7 Castellanos: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 PHI MLB 54 229 7 .249 .306 .411 .315 99 -0.3
  8. The only bat the Phillies have better than what the Brewers have is Harper everyone else are about equal to what the Brewers have.
  9. This is why Barker has not seen MLB action for the ones wondering.
  10. Brent "We are waving the white flag" Suter has entered the game.
  11. He definitely has a type.
  12. CC must have read the 2022 Brewers Offense thread.
  13. Didn’t see this posted here.
  14. Just missed the barrel on that one. If that hits the barrel it is gone.
  15. Hopefully it is better than what is around Chase Field for the Dbacks. The restaurants are just packed to tightly together.
  16. I don't believe the Brewers offense is all that bad especially when Renfroe, Narvaez, Adames and Urias are in the lineup. Renfroe: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 MIL MLB 39 155 9 .266 .303 .503 .345 120 0.8 Adames: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 MIL MLB 35 148 9 .208 .304 .462 .335 113 1.2 Narvaez: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 MIL MLB 32 121 2 .274 .364 .415 .345 119 1.0 Urias: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 MIL MLB 28 120 5 .243 .342 .398 .332 111 0.1 Compared to the popular FA this past offseason: Castellanos: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 PHI MLB 53 225 7 .244 .302 .410 .313 98 -0.3 Bryant: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 COL MLB 17 73 0 .270 .342 .333 .304 81 -0.3 Rizzo: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 NYY MLB 53 223 13 .215 .318 .482 .343 129 0.7 Story: Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 BOS MLB 49 216 9 .225 .315 .439 .326 111 1.6 Schwarber Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR 2022 PHI MLB 52 224 14 .197 .321 .457 .339 116 0.9 Other than Story the free agents this off season are not really all that impressive especially Castellanos and Bryant. Renfroe is a clear win over Castellanos. The problem right now with the Brewers offense is Yelich and McCutchen. The Brewers are not going to be able to improve with Yelich so the only other option really is to improve over McCutchen by finding a platoon partner at DH. I don't believe Hiura is the answer there and I think the Brewers need to add another LH bat that can take that spot and also play some 1B. A platoon of Bell and McCutchen would be almost perfect as they compliment each other perfectly in their splits. That would then only leave two holes in the lineup with Taylor/Cain and Yelich. Yelich should probably slot into the leadoff spot and then move Wong down to 8th or 9th. The problem then becomes finding a #3 hitter and that would fall on either Adames or Urias. Probably go with Adames at 3 and Urias at 2 so the lineup would look something like this: 1. Yelich 2. Urias 3. Adames 4. Tellez 5. Renfroe 6. Narvaez 7. Bell/McCutchen 8. Wong 9. Taylor/Cain
  17. Joe Maddon fired. https://www.mlb.com/news/joe-maddon-fired-as-angels-manager
  18. I just don't like the logo it just was to boring for me when I was younger. I preferred the other teams logos far better and usually just wore my old hat than wearing the one in the 90's.
  19. The Nationals will not be trading Soto and he wouldn't be a rental. Basically to get Soto the Cardinals would have to trade Arenado, Goldschmidt, Flaherty, and their top 50 prospects all of them.
  20. I don't believe the Orioles will get a comp pick for losing Mancini. Below is the proposed 2023 FA Compensation. Free Agent Compensation Former club status 35M TG/ 18M AAV 55M TG/23M AAV 100M TG/ 30M AAV 150M TG/ 40M AAV Revenue Payee 3rd round Comp B Comp A Comp A+ 3rd round Revenue Payor --- 3rd Round Comp B Comp A CBT Payor --- --- 3rd Round Comp B The Associated Press Compensation tiers are based on: the total guarantee (TG) OR the average annual value (AAV) of the player’s new contract, whichever is higher, and The Revenue paying and CBT status of the former club The player must be a first time free agent, and have been with the former team for at least one full season. There is no qualifying offer of salary or arbitration required for compensation.
  21. I posted previously that I think Hiura would be someone the Nationals would like as they are rebuilding and yet they still want to keep Soto. Beyond the Nationals I am not sure maybe the Royals.
  22. The Cain and Gallo deal would be so the Brewers could get out of Cain's contract and take on someone with a higher contract like a J.D. Martinez. Gallo's value may become less and the Brewers wouldn't have to include a comp pick but I think a prospect would have to go in the deal. I don't think it would be anyone better than Gray though. There are plenty of immature players and what Bohm said I don't really find all that bad as Philly can be a rather horrible place to play. The Philly fans can be overly condescending and overly brutal on the players. There is criticism and then there is the Philly criticism which goes over the top. The criticism goes further than any other city including New York, Boston and Chicago where the fans outright revolt against players and managers. Philly takes what other fans do and multiplies it by a million. If I were a player you would have to pay me extra just to consider playing in Philly. Possibly they would want more but I don't think they get much more for Lopez and Mancini. While they are having good years they are not superstars who will bring back a lot of prospects. Mancini for Garcia and Erceg is rather fair maybe a little bit more than what Mancini is worth. Gray and Lazar is probably an overpay but relievers tend to get more than what they are worth during the deadline. It is very difficult right now to find trade partners for the Brewers. There are a lot of off season trades with teams like the Phillies, Rangers, Angels and Mariners that I could see the Brewers doing. If the Brewers wanted to keep both Burnes and Woodruff next year then the Angels make sense to trade Houser or Lauer to. Lauer would also make sense with the Phillies. I have mentioned in the Woodruff thread that the Rangers make a lot of sense as a trade partner for Woodruff.
  23. Benintendi would be fine but I think the Brewers go with Mancini from the Orioles. I don't trust any offense from someone playing in Cincy. I think Cincy is more problematic than Coors is.
  24. I wonder if the Brewers and Yankees could swing a deal where the Brewers get out from Cain and the Yankees get out from Gallo. I think the Brewers would have to send back a prospect in this deal but something like Cain and Gray for Gallo would be something that would help the Brewers. Yelich would then be moved into a platoon with McCutchen at DH with Gallo taking over in RF and moving Renfroe over to LF. Starting OF would be Renfroe, Taylor and Gallo. The Yankees would get out of the mess that is Gallo and the Brewers would get some salary relief. May have to give up something more than Gray maybe the Brewers competitive balance pick in 2023 or something like that. Another possible trade could be with the Orioles where the Brewers could add bullpen depth and a DH. Brewers get: Mancini and Jorge Lopez Orioles get: Garcia (SS), Gray (OF), Erceg (RHP) and Lazar (RHP) Lopez would fill in the bullpen as the 6th or 7th inning piece and Mancini would fill in at DH, 1B or LF. Mancini currently has a slash line of .305/.377/.437. This would be the offensive improvement the Brewers would need at DH and LF that they are currently missing. Another option would be Bohm with the Phillies but I think that maybe more of an off season trade. Something like Lauer and Frelick for Bohm. I believe the Brewers will go after someone like Mancini or Bell and a relief pitcher or two. There still doesn't look like there is a star type player who will be on the market. Maybe if the Red Sox go on a losing streak you could see Bogaerts become available but that would be it.
