  1. These were the only two teams I could find where a Sale like trade scenario made sense. All of the other teams were either farther away from contending or didn't have the prospects to make a deal. The Tigers one would be difficult and I don't think they make that trade. The Rangers one while they have a hole at 3B I think their holes in their rotation are far bigger than at 3B. They could add a veteran in free agency or go with a platoon there if they had to. At starting pitching the Rangers are very thin and need someone to step in to be that #1 guy on that pitching staff. So they are going to have to give up something in order to get that. This is very similar to the situation that the Brewers were in when they traded for Greinke. They had a huge hole at SS after that trade. Trading for pitching is always expensive and the team acquiring the pitching needs to weigh the cost with the benefits. I believe the Rangers will do anything to improve their rotation which would mean trading a few key assets away even if it makes them weaker at one position.
  2. Reportedly Darvin Ham will be the Lakers new head coach good luck Darvin you are going to need it. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-coaching-tracker-latest-updates-lakers-hiring-darvin-ham-kings-tab-mike-brown-as-new-head-coach/
  3. More info on Jett Willams from PerfectGame: https://www.perfectgame.org/Players/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=406026 If the Brewers drafted Jett I would be very happy. He seems as though he is a type of hitter that some complain about the Brewers not having. He sounds to be a low strike out hitter who will put the ball in play a lot. He also has enough pop in his bat to be dangerous. He may not put up 25+ HR seasons but he should be in the 10-15 range which is plenty enough. Looks to be a top of the order bat who can put the ball in play and will be someone who can steal a base with ease. Defensively he maybe more of a 2B than a SS but I think he can stick at SS athletically but his arm may force a move to 2B. If a middle infield spot is not an option he has the athleticism to play in the OF specifically in CF. He wouldn't have the arm to play in RF but LF is also possibility. I see him more as a future 2B which with his hitting ability should make him a perfect selection at 27. Oh and the discussion about high profile players the Brewers did take Clint Coulter at 27 in 2012 who when you read his scouting report sounds exactly like the player brewers888 is looking for.
  4. FYI from what I posted previously about the scam call centers.
  5. Malaysia and India are the worst as a lot of the people who work in these call centers also work for the people running the scams (IRS, Amazon, fake virus, etc.).
  6. He is a relief pitcher and I don't see many voters voting for him because of that. The last relief pitcher to win the Cy Young was Eric Gagne back in 2003. I am not against Hader being in the running for Cy Young but I just don't see it happening as he would have to have a near perfect season and a bunch of starting pitchers having a down year.
  7. I changed the subject to what exactly? My point which apparently I have to keep on repeating is that offense is not the only factor for a team. Coming into 2021 Swanson wasn't looked at as a offensive player though he had improved which I stated previously that he has been improving but the majority of his value comes from his defense still. Teams can and do win with players who are just abysmal on offense. All of the players I listed are abysmal offensively some more than others. The point was that you are not going to have 100+ ops+ players at every position and having a platoon of Taylor and Cain is perfectly fine and doesn't really need to be improved on as there are other areas that are bigger needs. I can't keep on repeating this with every post I make.
  8. Swanson has a career negative offensive WAR of -17.9 compared to a defensive WAR of 44.3. What information did you provide?
  9. Career wise Swanson has been a net negative offensively. Recently he has been positive but it still is his defensive value that provides the majority of his value.
  10. You may want to say what you mean and not be so cryptic in your posts. That right there is saying you are looking for someone with power. You don't say anything else about the hitter. Williams is basically what you are describing he has gap power which can improve. He also has some great hit tools as he doesn't really strike out all that much. The competition that he has been facing has been really high. You should really read scouting reports before commenting on some of these. Looking at a players height in baseball is not a good idea. This is not the NFL or NBA height is not really all that important. If someone an hit it doesn't really matter what their height is. If you looked back at Turang's scouting report his read a lot like Williams scouting report. If you want a player with and outstanding power tool you can get those players in the later rounds. Also you are not going to be getting someone like Braun or Fielder drafting at 27.
  11. You literally stated that is the main thing you are looking at.
  12. But it is not. Baseball is not just a home run derby which is what you apparently think how baseball is played. You need players who play a high caliber of defense to win also. You can't win with offense alone as this has been proven over and over again in the playoffs. Teams with poor defense barely make it and mistakes in the OF doom teams every year. So yes even if the player is an automatic out there is still value and you can win a world series with them. The Braves won with Dansby Swanson who is mostly just on the Braves for his defense and that is about it.
  13. The odds of any player drafted in any round even the 1st round making it to the majors is fairly low. So drafting players with just power in their bats is not a good idea. Ask Doug Melvin how well that strategy worked, I will give you a clue it didn't work out all that well. Let me give you one name Matt LaPorta.
  14. For being only 5'8 Williams actually has some sneaky power in his bat. Height usually doesn't limit a players power at all. Matt Stairs who had gobs of power was only 5'9. Dustin Pedroia another short player at 5'9 had enough power in the majors also. There are plenty of players who are not all that tall who had and have a lot of power. Ozzie Albies of the Braves is only 5'8 also I guess he has no power either. There are more if you want me to continue.
  15. Because he is batting at the bottom of the order. I am not sure what everyone is expecting out of the bottom of the order but nearly every single team that is competing has someone that is just horrible in their lineup. The Cardinals have Molina, Dodgers have Turner, Blue Jays have T. Hernandez, Rays have Zunino and Walls, Yankees have Hicks and Gallo and I can keep on going for some of these. I just don't see CF being a need to trade assets when you are not going to get that big of an improvement. The current option of Taylor and Cain is perfectly fine and yes that means a team competing for a playoff spot. Once Adames and Renfroe come back CF is not an issue at all. As long as the defense stays strong in CF offensively it is fine to have that as a black hole offensively as long as Cain is hitting 8th or 9th there is no issue.
  16. Teams have an automatic out in their lineup every game that is why they bat so low in the lineup. Cain batting in the bottom of the order is perfectly fine.
  17. Doesn’t matter either way. You are talking about the 7 8 or 9 hitter. They have very little impact on the offense. Trading assets away for what would be a small gain is just dumb. You would have to trade for someone that will be better than Adames and Tellez and at CF there really isn’t anyone like that available. Again it will be better for the Brewers to trade for players who won’t cost all that much in terms of prospects.
  18. Not sure why the Twins would want to give up someone like that. He looks to be more of a 4th or 5th OF. Why give up assets when you already have a player like him on the team already. I don't see CF as this glaring problem as everyone else apparently. I just don't see Cain and Taylor as being a problem that the Brewers have to go out and trade for someone. When Cain is in lately he has been down in the order which is fine as long as Cain is in the 7-9 batting spot his production is not as big of an issue as some are making it out to be. There are bigger issues like the middle part of the Brewers bullpen that needs to be fixed more so than CF. Right now the Brewers don't have the depth at relief pitching that they normally do and they are not performing outside of Gott and Hader. Do you really trust Williams and Boxberger in the 7th and 8th inning and no Hader is not pitching multiple innings as that is not even an option anymore. To me CF is a low hanging fruit problem and the Brewers need to improve in other areas over CF.
  19. That is actually not that bad.
  20. A couple of mocks with the Brewers taking Jett Williams. Sounds a lot like Turang. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-mock-draft-2022-historic-focus-on-offense https://sportsnaut.com/mlb-mock-draft/ https://baseballprospectjournal.com/2022-mlb-draft-mock-draft-4-0/
  21. He just needs to go to the minors and become a pitching coach. He is just not that good any more.
  22. I see Brent “White flag we give up” Suter is in the game.
  23. Just wouldn't be a good idea to trade Hader and Woodruff you just won't get enough value back. If you are going to trade Hader and Woodruff you would trade them by themselves and not in a package deal. There just isn't a team out there that would be able to give up the players needed for a deal like that to happen.
  24. Sounds like you need a Barney Fife.
  25. That is really good for the bottom of the order.
