  1. He forfeited his salary when he chose to sit out.
  2. Today's game is a perfect example of why you don't want Pham in the OF he is absolutely horrible.
  3. He has always been a negative defensively. I don't see why you would want him anywhere near CF let alone LF or RF.
  4. I mentioned Beck in a previous post that I think he would be a target for the Brewers I am just not sure he drops to the Brewers. An OF of Beck, Mitchell/Frelick and Wiemer would be rather exciting. Lots of power and speed in the OF.
  5. So is everyone going to rave about Urias tag like they do for that other guy?
  6. You are just jealous you don't have any hair left on your head!
  7. Unless the Brewers trade for a 3B like in my proposed Rangers deal. I think Urias is the 3B and is more than likely the starting 3B in 2023. I am not against home being the 2B, I just see Turang and Peterson as the more likely options for 2023.
  8. The third year for Wong is a team option with a $2m buyout. The buyout is probably a 100% going to happen as Wong’s 3rd year option is at $10m. I fully expect Turang or Peterson to be the starting 2B in 2023.
  9. Here are my picks for the Brewers: 27: Kumar Rocker RHP. I think the Brewers go the risky route here with Rocker available at 27 and place him aggressively at Wisconsin to start his minor league career. Rocker should be a fast mover if he is able to command his pitches. 63: Sonny DiChiara 1B. Probably more of a DH than a 1B but he has a lot of power and can get on base and won't strike out a lot. The big question mark for DiChiara is if he can hit a breaking ball. If he can adjust and hit breaking balls then this will be more than a senior signing. This pick is mostly just a senior signing to sign someone else. 72: Bradley Loftin LHP. This is where the Sonny drafting comes in to help the Brewers. Loftin has a strong commit to Mississippi State but with the savings from pick 63 the Brewers take Loftin and give him a $2m bonus to sign. This is a dream signing if the Brewers can do this. I would even look at Loftin earlier even at 27. I think Loftin in 3-years is a top 5 draft prospect. 102: Jacob Misiorowski RHP. 100 MPH fastball with a wipeout slider. Jacob looks to be what the Brewers used to look for in pitchers in the Doug Melvin era. I think the Brewers take him here if he is available and he would be a very tantalizing bullpen piece if not a possible closer. With this draft the Brewers go pitching heavy with their first 4 picks. Biggest wildcard is Rocker who could be a complete dud if he is not able to figure out his control problems.
  10. That wasn't a bad send. Generally speaking 3B coaches are way to conservative on when they send someone or not. At least this was the conclusion last time there was a study on this. It was a close play so anytime it is close it is a good send if it is an out or not.
  11. I believe the teams have control of the start times unless it is a nationally televised game. But I agree MLB needs to set a standard for the getaway games.
  12. Beginning of the year he looked like he was completely lost at the plate and was looking like a career minor league roster fodder player.
  13. See here is your problem you were expecting a government agency to do something. If instead you expect them to do nothing then you will be less disappointed. Oh someone will look into your case but they didn’t say when. You will probably get an email or letter in the mail stating they are now looking into it 5-years from now just for them to close it because you didn’t respond.
  14. Has a player ever accounted for 3-outs in one inning?
  15. First time the Brewers have batted around I believe?
  16. With the raising of the rates today the FED believes the economy will grow at 1.7% for this year and next year. Hello recession!!! Also inflation should increase by 4.3% this year. The CPI grew to 8.6% in May. I don’t see the CPI going down anytime soon so probably for June another 8-9% rate continuing until at least the fall. The FED also expects to raise the rates by .75 for the rest of the year.
  17. The lower end doesn't drive the economy but they are a high percentage of the economy. There is no denying it right now but the economy is heading towards a recession and it is unavoidable. The time to address this has passed. Gas prices are going to increase and should hit about $6 per gallon on average in the US. Once this hits it will be the start of the recession but I don't see the price per gallon of gas on average going above $6. California will see $10 on average within the next month or so. Even during the fall period when travel goes down don't expect gas prices to fall all that much. They may drop by a $1 which should put the national average around $5 per gallon but that is where they will stay for the foreseeable future. Now the scariest part won't even hit the US all that much this will have the biggest impact on Africa and the Middle East. The grain shortage if the war in Ukraine continues to the next harvest is going to be a huge problem for Africa and the Middle East. There will not be enough grain to supply Africa and the Middle East if the war in Ukraine continues to the next harvest. This is where things start to get in the grim area as there will be famines in Africa and the Middle East. The African continent is already a tinder box waiting to explode along with the Middle East but less so. War is a strong possibility in Africa and the Middle East if there is a severe famine. This also means a lot of refugees heading to Europe which is already dealing with a refugee crisis with Ukraine and Syria. This is only going to make things worse in Europe. This could turn into the 1930-40's all over again. There are also signs of India being hit with huge storms this summer which will really impact the supply chain. This could be a very bumpy summer if all of the dominoes start falling. Hopefully it doesn't happen but it is very possible that we are looking at a 1930's global crisis.
  18. While Yelich has a noodle arm no one was going to throw out anyone as that ball was hit deep enough to score on every LF or RF in MLB. The only way your throwing someone out that deep into the OF is if the runner trips and falls down and tries to crawl to home plate half way there.
  19. If a GM drafts a 1B who is not at the level of Fielder or better in the 1st round they deserve to be fired on the spot. There isn't really a 1B prospect in the top 100 but I will try and answer your question more seriously now. At #27 probably the only 1B option would be either Cayden Wallace or Tucker Toman. For the 2nd round if they are available either Xavier Isaac or Ivan Melendez would be good options. If the Brewers go for 1B I would prefer Xavier Isaac. Isaac has elite power which is what you want from a 1B but he does use the whole field so he has gap to gap power and not just a pure pull hitter.
  20. My department is currently hiring for a sr reporting analyst. Looking mainly for someone who knows how to use excel. Have to be able to work from the office 3-days a week in Tempe, AZ. Need to know how to use advanced formulas in excel nested IF statements, vlookup, index match and some VBA experience preferred. If interested let me know and I can send you the requisition number. This would be in financial risk mostly in VOLKER. Finance knowledge is not needed.
  21. If the Brewers continue to falter it maybe best to trade Hader during the deadline. Something like Casas, Bello and Thad Ward for Hader should be a good return for the Brewers and is probably too much but I think Casas is a bit overrated and has a little bit less value. Plus with the deadline relievers tend to get more than they are actually worth so take Hader's value now and multiply it by 1.5 times of his current value so Hader should have a surplus value of about $50m which I think would be about what this trade would be fetching. This would give the Brewers a 1B/DH in Casas and another young starting pitcher in Bello. If the Brewers decide to trade Burnes and Woodruff that would give the Brewers a rotation of Peralta, Ashby, Houser, Small, Lauer with Bello waiting in AAA in 2023 and Ward in the bullpen. Ward would have to be added to the 40-man or he would be rule 5 eligible. Could also replace Ward with Chih-Jung Liu. I think that would be the best offer out there. I am not really interested in any of the Mets prospects and I don't think the Dodgers or Yankees will be looking for a closer. The Blue Jays prospects also are not all that interesting either.
  22. May want to add Hader, Burnes and Woodruff (if healthy to the list here).
  23. Not really unless you are referring to the beginning of the year for that draft. Pre 2018 season Turang was looked at as the #1 pick but as the year went on he dropped further and further. Majority of the mocks didn’t even have him in the first round. Consensus on Turang was someone on the outside of the 1st round by the time the draft rolled around.
