Garcia right now is the best hitter on the team and no one is even close to him right now. At 54.8% of his hits being that of the hard hit category and that puts him in an elite category. Obviously he won't continue to do this but he has started out red hot when he has been making contact. Elite for a full season is around 47%.
He is also 2nd in hard% on the team at 47.8%. When he is hitting the ball they have been hit rather hard. I am fine with him not walking if he is squaring up on the ball when he is making contact.
COINBASE went public today. Currently trading around $330 a share. I am going to wait and see if it goes down to around $200. I think it is over valued where it is at now.
The Atlantic League to move the pitching mound back by 1 foot and will implement the "double hook" rule. https://theathletic.com/2518208/2021/04/14/moving-the-mound-the-double-hook-what-mlb-and-the-atlantic-league-are-trying-out-next?source=user-shared-article I like the double hook rule as it ties the DH to the starting pitcher which brings in some strategy. Not sure on how I feel about the mound moving back.
I believe I read somewhere that they think it is the birth control pills that are causing it. At least that is a theory which is probably more than likely the cause as there are some forms of birth control that can cause blood clots.
I believe the team would only be responsible if they were supplying the alcohol. Civil wise they could be sued for that as you don't have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they knew. Definitely not criminal negligence but could sue the team for being negligent and the team would more than likely settle before it even goes to court.
He has a hard hit % of 59.1 so far this year and leads all Brewers with 13 95MPH+ hits followed by JBJ 9, Yelich and Cain at 8. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/statcast?type=batter&year=2021&position=&team=158&min=1&sort=12&sortDir=desc
It looked like to me that Yardley never found his release point in spring training and it continued into the start of the season. He was either releasing the ball early or he was late. Hopefully he can find his release point as the Brewers are going to need him at some point this season.
The way this happened is more someone operating under free will. If this were someone losing impulse control it would be more in the moment and this looks to be planned and not something that was acted upon based on losing impulse. We won't know for certain because they took their own life but I don't see this as someone losing impulse control this seemed planned and not based on impulse.
If the Brewers are spending resources to get a SS I would prefer someone like Bogaerts over anyone else. Though I doubt the Red Sox would trade him. I think value wise you could find better value at 1B if Hiura continues to struggle with the bat. If the Nationals are out of it either Schwarber or Bell could be available to fill 1B. I don't see Vogelbach as a viable option at 1B fulltime or either part-time really.
I believe the Yankees have made exceptions in the past. I believe Gossage was able to keep his mustache and I think their was one more but can't remember who. Also if you watched the MLB special on Griffey Jr. he wouldn't sign with the Yankees because of how they treated his dad and he had a no trade clause that he wouldn't waive either. I believe Bonds also had the same issue with the Yankees and a lot of other teams also.
JP just needs to throw some of those pitches just a little bit closer to the zone and he gets an out from one of them. They were just way too far off the plate to be effective pitches. A little closer and he might get a strikeout or a weak grounder.
