  1. 3 vs ATL - 2-1 3 @ BOS - 1-2 3 @ PHI - 2-1 3 vs PIT - 1-2 3 vs STL - 2-1 4 @ PIT - 2-2 3 vs SD - 2-1 3 vs CHC - 3-0 3 @ STL - 0-3 15-13 The Atlanta series should be a good one. The Braves offense doesn't really concern me especially with them losing McCann. BJ Upton is bad offensively and isn't really all that good defensively. I like the Brewers chances to jump on Atlanta's pitching early in the year. The Red Sox, Cardinals and Pirates series are going to be very hard for the Brewers. So when are the Red Sox going to play in Milwaukee again?
  2. Not a divisional prospect but the Twins prospect Miguel Sano to have Tommy John surgery. http://msn.foxsports.com/north/story/twins-prospect-sano-to-have-tommy-john-surgery-030114
  3. I believe the Badgers will get the 3 seed in the east. I would prefer to be in the midwest than in the east as I believe Wichita State is going to get the 1 seed in that bracket.
  4. I would rather see Hellweg in the pen before Pena. Hellweg has absolutely no control as a starter while Pena has some. Plus I believe Pena is going to become the starter and not Hellweg as a lot of people pegged it to be Hellweg as a starter and Pena as a reliever.
  5. I really like Ariel Pena and if he can lower his walk rate he could become a #1 or a #2 starter.
  6. That is awesome! If this helps the Bucks lose all the better and hopefully the other 4 on the court do this also.
  7. Try applying to jobs that you don't qualify for or are just under the qualifications. Even if you don't qualify for the job you should be applying for it if you have some of the qualifications for the job. My most recent job I applied for and got I only had one qualification that they were looking for it just happened to be what they were actually looking for. Just keep on applying to everything even if you do not fully qualify for the job.
  8. I would suggest a non profit company for PR or a political campaign. This should get you the experience you are trying to get and get you networking.
  9. What kind of Advertising are you trying to get into? Have you tried volunteering for a non profit? Have you tried the career services at UWM? You should really go to any and all career fairs. This will get your name out there and you will be able to meet the recruiters which should help. Do not play the desperation card in your cover letter! Are you doing graphic design for advertisement? You might want to have a portfolio of your work over a resume if you are creating advertisements.
  10. The only way I would trade with the Dodgers for Kemp if it were Weeks, Hellweg, and a low minors guy for Kemp, Alex Castellanos, and Zach Bird. That would offset the salaries for this year and giving the Brewers a utility infielder in Castellanos who can platoon with Gennett.
  11. The manager can't mess up a lineup it is nearly impossible with this team as there really is only one good batter in Braun and a few average bats followed by a lot of below average (Gennett, Bianchi, Francisco, Schafer, and Maldonado). The only way to have a bad lineup would be to have Bianchi Gennett Maldonado and Schafer all playing on the same day. Talk about a black hole of horrible bats that would be a very bad lineup.
  12. This reminds me of the Miguel Sano signing by the Twins in 2009 I believe it was and for just about the same amount. I will believe this when I see it but at least the Brewers are actually in talks about a highly ranked international talent. Even if the Brewers don't sign him at least this is a good sign that they maybe looking into top international talent.
  13. Actually they are and most platoon players are players that other teams dont want. There were other teams that were also interested in Reynolds and Francisco would be picked up by a team and would be put into a platoon. Only Overbay really fills your agenda here and there are 30+ Overbays all over MLB. There is very little to no difference in what the Brewers are doing and what the rest of MLB is doing.
  14. Franklin and Smoak would be a good deal for the Brewers in exchange for Estrada. I don't believe the Mariners would do this as Franklin is worth more than Estrada.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if Rogers beats out Morris in spring training and may be considered as the first one who gets called up if Reynolds is not playing all that great. Adam Dunn or Ryan Howard are two players that come to mind who the Brewers may trade for mid season. Not sure the Brewers have the prospects to get Howard but Dunn is a real possibility and is someone I could see Melvin going after as he wouldn't cost a big time prospect.
  16. This article feels like mostly hot air than truth. http://journaltimes.com/sports/gery-woelfel-signs-point-to-bucks-staying/article_260a77a8-823e-11e3-bb0b-0019bb2963f4.html
  17. This is a little disturbing: The bold part is the extremely disturbing part. I am not surprised by it but I am still disturbed by it as it still shows Kohl still doesn't understand how to run an NBA team. Source The only veterans that maybe available are Rando in a trade but that wouldn't make sense with the current roster especially if the Bucks really are interested in Smart. Henson is probably the most likely player to get traded for a veteran piece and if the Bucks draft Smart Knight would be the next to go but I don't see many teams willing to trade for Knight. Maybe the Lakers would do a trade but what are you really going to get out of that trade?
  18. w/out Weeks probably around 0 or 1
  19. This argument continues to drive me nuts, and I don't know how it got started, much less become so prevalent in this conversation. Let's be very clear about this. Systemic steroids, and PEDs in general, do not help aid in recovery. Not true at all. Growth Hormone Activates Gene Involved In Healing Damaged Tissue
  20. No. Listach, Sheffield (what he did for the Brewers), anyone drafted in the first round from 1990-1998. Anthony Williamson is by far the biggest disappointment in Brewers history. Picked 4th in the 94 draft where the Brewers should have drafted Nomar again or Konerko.
  21. That doesn't really help the Braves at all. Why would they trade Uggla for Weeks? That is like trading a rotten orange for a rotten apple. It doesn't really do much for the Braves or the Brewers at all. One player that does make sense with the Braves is 1B/OF Terdoslavich as he doesn't have a position to play for the Braves. Both of the corner OF spots are taken by Heyward and Upton and his only other position he can play is 1B and he isn't going to get a lot of playing time there with Freeman at 1B unless Freeman gets injured. Gennett would be a fair swap for Terdoslavich as I don't have any confidence in Gennett being anything more than a .250/.300/.300 player and with his defense being as bad as Weeks defense that is just ugly.
  22. That is just hiding the ball well that doesn't have anything to do with his delivery. All pitchers do this and there really isn't anything odd or deceptive in his delivery.
  23. There is very little to no truth to any of your statements about Fiers. Fiers was considered a SP prospect a very limited upside prospect but a SP prospect. Fiers also didn't have a deceptive delivery and even if he did that wasn't even the reason why he was having success in fact all pitchers have a deceptive delivery there are just some that are more extreme than others. You have to hide the ball well or the hitter is going to know what you are throwing so there is deception in every pitchers delivery. Back on track now Fiers was locating everything perfectly when he first came up which is why he was successful not because of his delivery. If you look back at the starts in 12 when Fiers was doing well you will see very little hard hit balls as he was locating his pitches. You can have below average stuff and be successful in MLB but you have to have almost perfect accuracy with your pitches. The reason why Fiers didn't have success last year is because he didn't locate anything at all it actually showed at the end of the 2012 season when he was starting to struggle. The problem with Fiers is that he doesn't really have an above average pitch that he can rely on where it doesn't really matter where he locates it. Thornburg also doesn't have an above average pitch so he is also likely to fall back down to Earth also. On to the topic at hand there is very little chance Melvin trades Thornburg for Davis as he made it perfectly clear that Thornburg is not available during the winter meetings. In fact Melvin hinted at Thornburg being in the running for the #5 starter spot. Melvin also compared Thornburg's final few starts to that of Wacha's which the stats were very similar though I don't believe Thornburg will have that type of success going forward he reminds me of Rich Harden though I don't believe Thornburg can go more than 6 innings per start so he is limited as a #5 or #4 type of a starter. I don't see the Brewers going into spring training with Morris as the possible starting 1B and Melvin will trade for someone. I wonder if the Reds would trade Neftali Soto he is blocked at 1B by Votto and he doesn't really profile all that well in the OF. He wouldn't be a bad gamble but I am not sure the Reds would do a deal sending him to a division rival.
