  1. Russell Wilson expects to be released in March: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10102738-nfl-rumors-russell-wilson-expects-to-be-released-by-broncos-in-march-after-benching#:~:text=Wilson is "expecting to be,him from after this season."
  2. The Yankees definitely reject that before the Brewers do.
  3. I don’t think the Brewers would offer him a long term contract. Maybe a 4-year contract for $96mm with deferred payments for 2-years at $3mm per year if he opts out after year one otherwise it is $4mm per year for 5-years. Year one at $17mm, year two at $19mm, year three and four at $20mm each year. The Brewers wouldn’t be able to give Hader a QO after year one also. I don’t think this makes sense for the Brewers but this should be close to what it would take to sign him. I am not sure this makes much sense for Hader either.
  4. This probably says more about MLF than it does about Jaire. The team is going off the rails and it doesn't look like MLF is trying to fix it. But that is just my observation as a non Packers fan.
  5. I have no idea what the Blue Jays are doing here. 2-years and $15m for Kiner-Falefa?
  6. And only 8-years away from Demolition Man. When are the franchise wars supposed to happen again?
  7. They really can't make a trade though. The best option for the Bucks would be P.J. Tucker but they would either have to trade Connaughton + or Portis for Tucker. There just isn't any room to add anyone to the roster.
  8. I haven't used Sirius in a long time. I am glad I canceled my subscription long ago. I just use Pandora, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio or Apple Music. iHeart Radio is a superior platform to Sirius. Also your cars don't have phone projection?
  9. Players union only gets a say on the rules and MLB then either accepts their concerns or doesn't.
  10. This is some really bad defense. Something needs to be fixed but not sure what.
  11. Just leaving this here.
  12. This is exactly what they are doing. They are the only team so far connected with Snell that I have heard of. They will probably sign Snell and J.D. Martinez and then call it an offseason. Burnes just makes 0 sense at all even for the Angels.
  13. Mayo is a 1B and not a 3B. Defensively he is somewhere between average and below average at 3B.
  14. The Angels do dumb stuff but this would be extremely dumb if they did this. I don't see them making this type of a trade. It just subtracts without adding. Yeah I get that. But they won't do this type of a trade. It just doesn't make any sense at all for the Angels to make this type of a trade. I don't believe they would even trade Schanuel so I think the Angels are basically just a team you avoid with any type of trade for Burnes. The teams with prospects to trade for Burnes are the Dodgers, Braves, Rangers, Giants and Orioles. I think we can cross the Dodgers and Orioles off a possible Burnes trade destination so that leaves the Braves, Giants and Rangers. The three are really good options as they have some prospects the Brewers would be interested in.
  15. I doubt that gets introduced this year. I think they said they still have some work to do with it on the technology side of things. Mostly what they need is a bigger database of all the hitters and their strike zones. I think some of the MLB stadiums also need to be updated for the tech to work correctly and not all MLB stadiums have this tech installed or have older tech that is not compatible with the automated ball and strike system.
  16. Why would the Angels trade Neto and Schanuel for Burnes? It makes no sense at all for them to do that. You are just subtracting pieces from their MLB team without replacing them with anything. Even with Adames in the deal you haven't even improved the Angels team as a whole at best you are at where you were before the trade. So why would this trade make any sense for the Angels?
  17. If I remembering this correctly this has more to do with modern NFL defenses than with any defensive coordinator. I believe every DC now has a CB just locking down a side instead of having your best CB on the other team’s best WR. No more Deion Sanders taking on Jerry Rice matchups. I fully believe the NFL has gotten worse because of this. Defensively it is probably better but I have no idea if it actually is. I prefer the stud CB vs stud WR. It made the game more entertaining and worth the watch even if the game was a snooze fest.
  18. There is a rumor that Amazon is willing to buy the streaming rights from the regional sport’s networks that have them. The Brewers are one of them. It doesn’t solve the revenue problem or local TV but it would allow for streaming on Amazon for a few teams.
  19. The Giants are 0-2 this offseason and 0-3 in the last two offseasons in signing someone of significance.
  20. Yes on the mound. This will actually help with some strategy in the game you can then pull your next left handed hitter and bring in a right handed hitter to face off against a lefty that came in last inning for one of your left handed hitters. If the pitcher warmed up they will have to pitch to that batter so a full outcome unless the pitcher is injured. No more keep the reliever you had from the last inning and then make a change if the other team changes the batter. I think they should also limit this for a batter if they are due up they have to hit or allow for the opposing team to change their pitcher. Kind of like in the NFL where the offense has to allow the defense to substitute if they substitute.
  21. Pitch clock will change to 18 seconds with runners on base. The runner's lane between home plate and first base will be widen by 6 inches. This is the dirt area. Mound visits will be decreased from 5 to 4. Relievers will now only have two minutes to complete warming up down from two minutes and fifteen seconds. After a foul ball the pitch clock will now start when the pitcher has the ball and all fielders have made it back to their positions. Any pitcher who warms up at the start of an inning will have to face at least one hitter. From the Athletic: https://theathletic.com/5155360/2023/12/21/mlb-rule-changes-2024-pitch-clock/
  22. Mayo has put out his top 100 for the '24 draft about a week ago: https://www.mlb.com/news/draft-top-100-prospects-list-2024 Around the 17th pick these are who I would target: For pitchers I am looking at Brody Brecht (RHP), Thatcher Hurd (RHP), Chase Burns (RHP), Josh Hartle (LHP), Cam Caminiti (LHP) or Drew Beam (RHP). Brecht, Hurd and Burns all have control issues and could just be relievers. It is possible all three drop to after the 1st round. Hartle maybe gone before the Brewers pick and Caminiti is a HS pitcher and the Brewers haven't taken a HS pitcher in the 1st round in awhile. Beam has the highest ceiling of all the pitchers as a mid rotation starter. Nothing exciting about Beam but he should make it to a starting rotation but his ceiling isn't all that high maybe a #3 starter at best with a floor of a #4/5 starter. For bats this is who I am looking at PJ Morlando (OF/1B), Mike Sirota (OF), Caleb Bonemer (3B), Cam Smith (3B), Dakota Jordan (OF) or Braden Montgomery (OF). I really like PJ Morlando and I think he is more of a 1B than OF but he can definitely play the OF and he has plenty of power though he gets pull happy a lot. Sirota is basically the same type of hitter the Brewers have been drafting recently. More hit tools than power. Someone who may rise up in the rankings and be out of the Brewers draft range would be Cam Smith. If he performs this year he could be in the 10-15 range. Caleb Bonemar is another interesting player who could fly up draft boards. Dakota Jordan is a very interesting prospect who is very much like Tyrone Taylor. Probably is a comp A pick or a 2nd round pick than a 1st round pick. Dakota Jordan is extremely raw and will take some time to develop but OMG his bat speed and his swing remind me of a young Rickie Weeks. The power potential in his bat is there just need to get him better at handling breaking balls. He K's a lot with a 25% K rate which is mostly due to him having issues with breaking balls. If he could get better at recognizing those pitches you have a 40+ HR hitter who can hit those HR's all over the park. He has HR power to all parts of the field.
  23. Because the Red Sox have no interest in trading Mayer. It is literally in what you quoted. The inclusion of Story is because Adames basically fills the same role Story does for them. I don't see the Red Sox having any interest in trading for Adames and this gives Adames negative value to the Red Sox. Note this is not me saying Adames has negative value just that he has negative value to the Red Sox. Adames has positive value just not to the Red Sox. The only way I see the Red Sox giving up Mayer is if you are trading Peralta.
  24. That is excellent news.
  25. Most would just reenter the draft depending upon how well they played. Draft range the player would be hoping for would be in the 1-5 range. The only thing I am not clear on is if the bonus goes towards the year they were drafted or the current draft pool. If it is the current then you are hoping the player gets a later draft ranking.
