  1. That would be good for the Brewers at least for a Burnes trade. That leaves the Braves, Rangers, Dodgers and Giants all looking for starters.
  2. January 12th is the date this time. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-offseason-key-dates-free-agency-start-awards-winter-meetings-hall-of-fame-spring-training-and-more/amp/
  3. This is an awesome read on the Bucks pick and roll issues and success. https://theathletic.com/5100682/2023/12/07/giannis-dame-bucks-pick-and-roll/?source=user_shared_article Antetokounmpo-Lillard pick-and-roll is a work in progress but showing signs of awesome potential
  4. I think it will be Santana as he is another strong clubhouse guy. Having Adames and Santana in the clubhouse to help Chourio and the other younger players navigate a MLB season is a huge positive.
  5. Loki was good and far better than any of their recent movies.
  6. Probably not with the minor league catchers at least not after spring training. The Brewers do like to spread out the responsibilities so he still maybe leading that instead of being the one doing the instructing. It is impossible to tell without one of the beat writers asking this question.
  7. I think Turang will get closer to what Cronenworth did last year with a full season. So I don't see it being that much of a difference. I also believe that Cronenworth is going to continue to decline. Also taking contracts involved is 46 points of OBP and 105 points of slugging significantly better when comparing what you are paying for each?
  8. Recently he hasn't been all that much better than Turang. 2023 Cronenworth: .229/.331/.405 2023 Turang: .218/.285/.300 Other than slugging there really isn't much of a difference between '23 Turang and '23 Cronenworth. If it only takes Bauers for Cronenworth with the Padres paying about 15% of Cronenworth's salary sure that would be fine. I don't think the Padres would be interested in that.
  9. Soto to Yankees https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/juan-soto-trade-yankees-land-star-slugger-from-padres-in-seven-player-blockbuster-per-report/amp/ Full deal: RHP Michael King, RHP Drew Thorpe, RHP Jhony Brito, RHP Randy Vásquez and catcher Kyle Higashioka for Soto.
  10. Google says: The act of interpreting information or a situation in a way that casts it as favorable or desired, despite the fact that there is no evidence for such a conclusion; a wishful forecast.
  11. Also for the NBA it tends to be more a player’s league than a team’s league. You will find a lot of fans of Kobe or LeBron who just like the player but not the team they play on. The NBA is just different than the other leagues. The NBA marketing of its top players is 100 times better than all of the other leagues combined.
  12. Only if the team name starts with a B for me. I have been in Phoenix for just over 10 years now and I don’t like the Dbacks, Cardinals, Suns or Coyotes. I think the Suns and Cardinals are the #1 and #2 team here in Phoenix. The Dbacks and Coyotes are a distant 3rd and 4th.
  13. You can never have too many infielders. There will always be an injury or someone just doesn’t perform or needs someone to platoon with. You can also rotate players between DH and an INF spot. I wouldn’t worry about the position the Brewers get back in any trade. If the best prospect is an INF great if they are an OF that is also great or a pitcher which also would be great.
  14. For me Lux would have to be the 4th piece in the deal. If the Brewers still had Toro I would have included Toro in the deal for Lux. That is basically the value I see of Lux he is worth a Toro and no more.
  15. Just no on Lux being in any deal for Burnes or Adames.
  16. Yes it impacts the bonus pool the Twins last year got a boost when they moved up.
  17. That was a whole lot of words to just repeat what everyone knows already.
  18. This is a good signing. Always need SP and RP depth so this should help there.
  19. Bell probably because he isn’t a good fit for the scheme being ran and he has hands of stones and is a poor route runner. Dike is a bit surprising.
  20. Adames is the heart of the team. He is the leader of the Brewers.
  21. Other than Clemson and FSU that conference is just a bunch of nobodies. The ACC is basically the Big Ten West there really isn't a powerhouse in that conference and you have two maybe teams in FSU and Clemson if everything goes right for them. Clemson and FSU are basically Wisconsin and Iowa. Maybe a bit better but not really. Miami tries to be a good program but they have been good then awful then ok then awful then awful and then maybe good again. Such an inconsistent program that is in a prime spot to be a really good program.
  22. I think this series is by far the best series HBO has ever done. It is far better than Game of Thrones and other series. Some good acting and everything pulls you in. It is very gritty and represents WWII fighting rather well. Much better than Saving Private Ryan did at least. A quick edit. I wish they would do something like this for the Korean war.
