  1. The Brewers would definitely do this but I don't believe the Orioles would.
  2. Right, though this trade makes too much sense to actually happen.
  3. I am more interested in Lee’s bat. If he can stick at SS great otherwise I think his bat plays wherever you put him. Defensively you could just stick it out with Turang and just have Turang bat 9th.
  4. Peralta is the Brewers best trade piece other than Contreras on the MLB roster. I don't think either get traded and it would have to be a blow the Brewers away type of trade. Rays trade 1: Rays get: Peralta Brewers get: C. Williams (SS), M. Montgomery (SP) and B. Taylor (3B) Rays trade 2: Rays get: Peralta Brewers get: J. Caminero (3B) and M. Johnson (SP) Orioles trade: Orioles get: Peralta Brewers get: C. Mayo (1B), C. Povich (SP), C. McDermott (SP) and J. Ortiz (SS) Twins trade: Twins get: Peralta Brewers get: B. Lee (SS), D. Festa (SP) and C. Soto (SP) Mets trade: Mets get: Peralta Brewers get: L. Acuna (SS), R. Mauricio (SS/2B), R. Clifford (OF) and C. Scott (SP). There are not that many teams that could pull off a Peralta trade these were just a few that I could find. I don't think any of these trades are realistic. It will take a lot for Peralta to be traded and that list of teams that could afford or even have the prospect surplus value to trade for Peralta is really small.
  5. Trading Peralta makes a lot of sense if you are going to do a full rebuild. Teams like the Rays and Orioles would have more interest in Peralta than in Burnes because of the years of control and relatively cheap contract. The return for Peralta should be better than Burnes.
  6. It is just one of the popular options right now. I wouldn't do Portugal as other countries are far better IMHO.
  7. I wouldn't go anywhere near Georgia as Russia seems to have its eyes on Georgia again. May want to try Poland though that would be a really long flight back to the US. The popular place right now is Portugal. I know I have suggested this previously but you may want to look into Vietnam. It is very retirement friendly and there are a bunch of Australian, UK and Americans now retiring in Vietnam. You may want to check out Thailand also but that will be another long flight. In the US I still believe Alabama or West Virginia would be the best options.
  8. Alonso wouldn’t make sense for the Brewers if they are trading Burnes. Batty makes some sense but I think Mauricio also makes sense. Would need to add a couple other pieces to the trade but a Batty or Mauricio headliner is probably the starting point for the Brewers.
  9. I have no idea what you are talking about here. You are the one who said Cy Young voting is how an Ace is determined. Here is exactly what I said: Burnes is also 3-years now removed from his CY Young season and he hasn't replicated or come close to that season since. The Cy Young season meaning the stats he put up in that season not the voting for Cy Young. What does voting for Cy Young have to do with anything I said? There is absolutely nothing in my post stating Cy Young voting that is all on you. You are the one who brought up Cy Young voting.
  10. You are the only one who said Cy Young voting. Top 5 in stats as Sveum has pointed out is what an Ace should be judged on.
  11. That is a poor definition of an ace if you are going by Cy Young votes. He looks to be more of a #1 or #2 type pitcher. Aces are rare and should be the top 5 starting pitchers in the league. Burnes isn’t a top 5 anymore he sits just outside the top 5 and is now more of a #1 pitcher which is still good just not elite.
  12. This is what they did after the Toronto game. The players talked with AG and he agreed to change the defense. I think there is an article on The Athletic about this change.
  13. I had completely forgot they had added Weeks to the coaching staff in the minors. I think he will need to wait a few more years before getting a manager position but it is nice to see the Brewers interviewing him to give him that experience. It also puts his name out there as a possible candidate for another team. Not sure I would take Mattingly. The Brewers front office and his style would be a complete clash. The Brewers are more analytical and I think that was the reason the Dodgers moved on from him and the Marlins also. Of that list I would have the top three in no particular order as Espada, McCullough and Snitker. I like Weeks but he needs some more grooming and getting him ready to take that leap. I am not sure he is there yet. Everyone needs to remember that Counsell had zero experience managing when the Brewers made him their manager. He was only in the front office at the time. Weeks actually has more coaching experience than Counsell did at the time of his hire as manager.
  14. No it is not. It would be above market rate. Market rate takes the market as a whole. If you have 5 houses and three are $300k and one is $400k and the other is $200k the market rates would be $300k not the $400k one nor would it be the $200k one. Counsell was paid above marks rate and no changing it to being only one is not market rate either.
  15. Nice game tonight and Giannis actually made some free throws. Middleton's minutes are starting to increase. Hopefully he will start to eat away some of Crowder's minutes. Crowder has been abysmal but his minutes should drop to about 20 per night once Middleton is fully healthy so there is that.
  16. Both of those are probably round 2 QB's and Sanders maybe round 3. I think Sanders returns for his senior year as he needs to show another year of progress if he wants to get out of the 2nd or 3rd round area.
  17. If you look at their schedules they don't have many winnable games left. I am also not saying they will only win one or two games. It is just on their schedule you can only mark one or two games as winnable for each team comparing the talent levels of each team. Going by the odds and how bad these teams have played I am fairly confident that the Cardinals, Bears, Patriots and Panthers may only win 2-3 more games this year. The Saints barely winning had more to do with the Saints than the Bears. That should have been absolute blowout but wasn't. The Saints still won and the Bears still looked awful like their record suggests they are. The Packers just don't have a chance to draft in the top 3 as one poster thought they had.
  18. Other than the Godfather II and Titanic those are some very specific audiences that are being targeted. Lord of the Rings, Endgame and Avatar are all pushing the geek/nerd culture so they are willing to watch and stay for those movies. You could probably do an 8-hour movie on the Lord of the Rings and the people who are Lord of the Rings fans will go and watch it and probably won't complain about the length of the movie. I know of some people who watched all three in one sitting. The Taylor Swift concert movie is targeted at tween girls and soccer mom's. They would watch a whole concert movie if it were 4-5 hours long.
  19. Wait I thought it was impossible to tell how a season will go? Not only do the Packers have to bypass the Bears, Cardinals and Panthers. They also have to bypass the Patriots and Giants. Far too many teams to bypass for the Packers and they just don't suck as much as those teams do. The Packers are stuck in the 6-11 to 8-9 win team area. Which puts them in the 5-12 pick range. It is going to be extremely hard to get into the top three picks for the Packers. Their schedule is not favorable for them to get into that range. The Bears actually have about the same schedule as the Packers and they maybe have 1 or 2 wins left in them. I said it before the Packers had about 4 wins in them yet. They got one of the wins I was thinking they would get against the Rams without their starting QB. The next 4 are probably loses for the Packers as these are all playoff teams bu then they have the Giants in Week 14, Panthers in Week 16 and the Bears in Week 18. There is also a maybe in there against the Buccaneers in Week 15. There are your 3 more wins to get what I predicted for the Packers even if they lose one of the games against the Giants, Panthers and Bears they have another maybe in the Buccaneers. That would put the Packers at 6-11 or 7-10 and probably puts them at the 8-10 draft pick range. The Panthers and Cardinals look like they are going to be 1-2 with the Patriots probably being the #3 pick team. The Patriots look like they have 3 winnable games. Only because it is hard to predict how a team will do playing over seas. The Colts could come out flat but even then they probably beat the Patriots. The Patriots only have two winnable games in the Giants and Broncos, though they did beat the Bills in week 7. The Cardinals even with Murray coming back are a dumpster fire. The Texans and Bears games are probably their only winnable games on their schedule. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose out or win three games. Even if they win three games that is a 4-13 season which I don't believe the Packers have any realistic chance in getting to. The most likely scenario would be the Packers finishing 6-11 on the season and getting the 7th or 8th pick in the draft. If the Packers want to trade up into the top 2 picks to get a QB they will need to either deal with the Bears, Patriots or Cardinals. All three of those teams could be looking at drafting a QB in the 1-3 slots. I don't think you could convince either of those three teams to trade their picks for anything short than a kings ransom. I am talking multiple first, second and third round picks. Probably at a minimum two first round picks, one second and two third round picks.
  20. The name no one is talking about. Brent Suter! Convince him to retire and become a manager! This is half blue and not 100% serious.
  21. With Yuni B as the pitching, hitting and bench coach!!!!!! WS here we come!!!!!
  22. Hah I do the same!
  23. The Cubs have done this twice now once to Sveum and now to Ross.
  24. I think this is also telling where CC saw the Brewers going in the future. He can say it was about resetting the market but I think he sees that the Brewers will need to rebuild. I don’t think he wants to be part of a rebuild. Though choosing the Cubs is a bit confusing without them spending a ton this offseason on starters. I think this may signal a Burnes trade and refusing to tender a contract to Woodruff. This maybe a small reset this offseason for the Brewers. I wouldn’t rule out a Williams trade also.
