I agree with most of this, but it's not that fantastical to imagine a scenario where they blow it up and are competitive in a couple years with Parsons and Love. They're both 27. So it's entirely within reason those two are part of turning things around. Much stranger things have happened than the Packers being competitive as soon as even next season. Who knows.
I've heard the "multi-year process" thing and then seen a team compete almost immediately, too many times to count, especially in the NFL. Packers look atrocious right now, but the lines are quite thin in the NFL and sometimes just the culture change makes a huge difference.
I think you're still right though, most of MLF's success as a HC is due to the Aaron Rodgers and Ted Thompson. He's been, at best, average after that point. For the last year, he's been awful. Would he really be extended if his tenure in GB began in 2023?
I don't think this is the case here, but sometimes in the NFL a good coach just has to be fired. Things stop resonating, things go stale, a guy is stuck in a philosophy that the game has evolved out of, etc. McCarthy is a perfect example; I don't think he's a bad NFL coach, but he needed to be kicked out of GB when he was, probably a bit earlier.
What should be most embarrassing for Policy if he cared about the on-field product enough to be embarrassed, is how so many people saw this coming. It was just mystifying to extend MLF this past summer.
