  1. The Brewer's winning a WS is an intensive purpose! 😉
  2. I think it came up once or twice last year. Unfortunately, lightning doesn't strike very often. Or Scotty Po. Which is kind of funny in German. Then there is King Thames (which someone here still uses on their signature), Sheeter, and Turnbow (oh wait, that was his actual name). I don't recall CC being called "Chicken", but if the feathers fit...
  3. FYI, no login needed to read this. For context, it is an interesting piece on clubhouse culture and how Murphy keeps egos "in check".
  4. No matter what Vaughn gets in arbitration, it will be less than Hoskins is getting this year. I was also wondering what will happen to Hoskins and Bauers... can't keep them both. And no way are they replacing Vaughn right now.
  5. I'm a father of 6 and was doing dad jokes since high school. Bad jokes = Comedy Gold! 😉
  6. Well, 2-4 = -2 😏 Here I opened the thread to get an update on Chourio and got a bunch of bad jokes.... This is almost as good. 😂
  7. I'm not sure why anyone swings against Ashby. Only 25% of his stuff stays in the zone and it seems like none of it makes it there when he needs to be.
  8. @GAME05, could you get on this one please? That should be a good place to get back in the business. 😉 Maybe the point is that not waiting until the deadline is an easier way to find better trades?
  9. Do we have any of Vaughn's pixie dust left?
  10. This season is truly a journey!
  11. So who had "no one we ever expected" on their prediction?
  12. Chafin deal made sense since we were thin at LHRPs, but he just completely failed here.
  13. I would just let my trade candidate keep their name. No need to name them. I'd go with O'Hearn or Castro. Both would be great too.
  14. Would be easier to do this in full in Sept with expanded rosters. Seems like we will see this with Miz at least. Maybe with five-inning Freddy too?
  15. Meh... When I see comments like this it feels like someone is remembering the 1990-2010 era when there was a plethora of big hitting 1Bers. If you can hit 750+ OPS, you are in the top half of starters in the MLB. Hit 850+ and you are elite. Personally, I think a 750-800 OPS is realistic with maybe some upside after that. His stats in college were pretty amazing.
  16. I do have one critism of this year's draft. I don't think we should be drafting guys older than I am... Or maybe @Brock Beauchamp can fix that one. 😂
  17. Beat me to it! Welcome @Cowbell! Great name. 😀
  18. Perhaps he was calling to warn the BP that the ball was coming? Oops... wrong BP. Same treatment as Favre. You had a great legacy with our team and you knew (or should've known) what going to the arch-rival meant. He will be booed until he leaves the Cubs. Please don't insult Stan!
  19. Oddly, this is the Vaughn that still comes into my head when I hear Andrew being called to that plate...and not Greg. I have to admit that I'm tempering my long term hopes on what Vaughn can become. This trade has been amazing, but I keep hoping he doesn't turn into a pumpkin at some point.
  20. Not a bad idea. He can have the Woodruff/Burnes BP treatment and roll back into starting.
  21. I'm not a Doc fan, but he does play younger players...that can play. Beauchamp was a miss. AJJ got some play last year, but needs growth yet. Green is a good example of a player that steadily improved each year and has been making meaningful contributions. I'm interested in what Rollins will bring this year. It is really hard to develop rookies when you are constantly drafting late (or every other year without a 1st rounder). There is talent there, but it is much harder to mine talent that way. And my first gripe about our front office would be our lack of ability in drafting. I had checked out on the season until their crazy offseason push. I'm interested on what our defense will be like this year. If we can jump up in defense and Giannis stays healthy, I think they will be right back up at top 4 in the East. If they can't do defense...well, it will be a long year.
  22. Yeah, I saw that later last night too. It is unfortunate IMO. Finger or not, Contreras isn't hitting all that well and it was very obvious how he wore down last year late in the season. Frankly, Willy bore a decent chunk of the responsibility for our 1st round playoff exit.
