  1. Oh to be a fly on the wall of Melvin's office while he, Ash and Macha are having this very same discussion...
  2. Has anyone heard about how Brae Wright is doing in his recovery from last year's TJ surgery? The only mention I've seen of him since Jan 2009 is that he in the NCAA BB pool this year...
  3. There is an outside chance that Brae Wright will come back strong this year also. Before his TJ surgery last year, he looked like a #4-5 lefty starter and should be at the AAA level also. -edit had the wrong Wright
  4. Julian Tavaras - oh so many reasons! Guillarmo Mota - Plugged Fielder for no good reason Barry Zito - Plugged Fielder for no good reason Gary Sheffield - Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me...
  5. Assuming the first statement is true, I'm sure someone would be willing to "pay cash" for a prospect. How much for who would be the question. Right now, it looks like Parra and Bush are going to be mutually exclusive in the starting 5. Things can change, but it looks like they have been paired... I would guess that one of Parra/Bush/Suppan/Narveson is gone. I doubt they put two in the BP, unless the BP is really awful...
  6. How can they show this on TV and not have audio only? At least give us the TV feed...
  7. Were do you see it at $15? I'm seeing it at $19.95. A link would be nice! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Here are my top five: 1) Pitchers 2) Catchers 3) Hitters 4) Defense 5) Base Stealing But that might be cheating...
  9. and we still had Overbay playing 1B anyway. But Overbay could have played LF... I'm not sure I understand the point of playing what-if for the past... We don't know if Detroit would have taken it. We don't know if Verlander would wanted to play in Milwaukee. For all we know, by changing where he pitched, Verlander could have blown out his arm and become worthless. Really! Don't you guys ever watch those SciFi shows about changing the timeline? It never turns out good. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Yes, the our trip through the desert is slowly coming to an end. Once the NFL season ended, it seems like such a long way to ST... The Bucks have been mildly entertaining this year, so it has helped, but not as interesting as the Brewers/Packers...
  11. That's what I'm talking about! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Wow! You guys are COMPLETELY missing the point... we need to draft this Grandal kid that beat Braun!
  13. Favre is gone? Pbbsshh... we aren't even close to the first football game of 2010... And even then I wouldn't be too sure...
  14. Its almost as if they are testing the waters for how high they can raise prices. If they get a bad response, then forget it. If they get a good response: "Well, we must have been selling them too cheap to begin with"
  15. I just don't think a message board has any place in telling people how to act in ways that are within their legal rights. My point is that you set a standard: As long as its legal, its allowed. (BTW, discussing this on a message board within our legal right). I could do many, many things sitting next to you at a baseball game that were legal, but not allow you to enjoy the game at all (please see Ronnie Woo-Woo). The world would be a tiring place if we required a law to enforce social behavior. So people are trying to discuss where you draw the line for social norms; specifically booing. If this isn't a good place to discuss that, were is?
  16. I was beginning to wonder about that. With all the other "MiLB +invite to ST" contracts we were handing out, it seemed like something was up...
  17. No one here has the right to try to lay down ethics on how a paying customer expresses their pleasure/displeasure as long as it remains non-violent. I have to admit that I find it amusing when people site that you can't set a standard of conduct, then sets one themselves... Not to pick on you strawboss, but it seems to be pretty prevalent in society in general. I was saying Boo-urns. Just what this thread needed! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  18. Went to JSonline and my jaw just dropped... Still can't get it closed... spilled coffee all over too...
  19. You had me at "Transaction Privilege Tax"... anyone want some tea? they can upgrade that dump they call Wrigley and the Spring Training facility? Yeah, but who would want to go watch a baseball game there??? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Just let the Cubs go to Florida! I want to Brewers to stay in AZ so I can combine Grand Canyon and Spring BB...
  20. I'm going to dip further back pre-BF.net and say Glenn Braggs. He made the big leagues, but did nothing there. Was supposed to come up to help Yount/Molly/Ganter, but just fizzled out. The guy was ripped, but couldn't hit a lick (looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane?). And he was my first autograph. More recent memories include Guererro, Little Ben, and Neugs. But its the first that hurts the worst...
  21. If Riske comes back and is strong in ST, I think you will see us trade an RP. Probably Vargas, but perhaps Coffey or Riske himself. My hope is that they keep Riske on IR to start the season, let him get some work in the minors for a week or two, then (assuming he looks strong) bring him up when someone else falters.
  22. Here's hoping he gives a lot of his Brewer's MLB salary to Teammates For Kids from now on. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. No, not a big deal. But just nice to know we didn't lose anything (no matter how small) in the transaction. Dillard will figure into the 40-man next year or will be somewhere else. He has the potential to put it together, but just hasn't yet. I'm glad to give him another shot with our organization.
  24. At worst, he is better than Nick Green and Chase Wright from last year. Any word on Dillard passing through waivers?
