I don't understand the need to put "gritty veterans" in the field. By leaving Kotsay in the dugout all night every night, Roenicke could encompass more young guns in his radius of intangibles. Maybe I should be happy that I don't have video to watch the games. I'd be even more anti-Kotsay/anti-Betancourt than I am.

I feel it is my duty to warn you about St. Louis style pizza. It's topped with a processed cheese called Provel rather than mozzarella, and it's reminiscent of a tangy velveeta. Be afraid...be very afraid.

This most recent news has to be taken as good news, right? I wasn't expecting Greinke back until mid-May at this point. So, to sum up the article, it seems like we should expect: Greinke: Late April/Early May Lucroy: April 15? Parra: April 15? Hart: Late April/Early May? Just three more weeks...just three more weeks...I feel like I'm waiting for Santa.

Wolf is frustrating, but he's still far better than Suppan was. I think a lot of the dislike of Wolf comes due to his contract, as it was a clear overpay. However, if we had found him on the scrap heap and he were making $1M to do the exact same thing, I think people would not be nearly as annoyed with him. I still fully expect Wolf to put up 175 innings of 4.5 - 4.75 ERA ball, and I consider myself a bit of a pessimist.

But Branyan isn't a veteran leader! And he can't play brilliant outfield defense! And he can't pinch hit! He just doesn't have that Mark Kotsay versatility!

You have to love how Wolf has given up 2 HR's, but only 1 ER. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about the silliness involved in "earned runs", I don't know what will.

Good to hear. After hearing Wolf strike out Soriano, I realized it was probably more like 75-80% GET UP, GET OUTTA HERE, THERE IT IS!!!

Anybody see the Cubs/Brewers fans ratio? It sounds like at least 40% Cubs fans, but it may well be less, given that the fans who aren't committed enough to sit out in the cold at Wrigley are epicly obnoxious. It is a bit funny that they can't bring out 20K (true attendance, not stated) to these early games but can bring them to Miller Park in droves.

What a class act. You know, as a former hockey player, I can't help but notice that he plays the game like a hockey player. Growing up playing hockey, we were taught to play the game with intensity and passion, and to wear our hearts on our sleeves. That's how Morgan plays baseball, and I don't have a problem with it. I love how Helms doesn't see the irony in pushing "play the game the right way" yet condoning plunking a guy for not "playing the game the right way". What an epic tool.

Speaking of the Indians, their attendance numbers are horrendous. Their past five games have each drawn between 8,500 and 11,000. That's Marlins bad.

I would have been okay with a gidp so long as the run scored... Five games isn't going to have a huge effect on Fielder's end of the year line, but if he keeps this up much longer his stat line at the end of the year will suffer a bit.

First game I can listen to on the year (so long as work doesn't get busy). I figure I can't possibly bring this team bad luck, can I? And Weeks goes down swinging...Nice to hear Morgan in the 2 hole.

I was thinking the same for Gomez and Morgan. Also, how long dot he Brewers have Morgan under team control? He has 2.12 years of service time, according to Cots, but he is 31 this year, and for I think there may be something about overage players reaching free agency before six years of service, or something along those lines. If there isn't, the Crew should have him through 2014, and if that's the case, why not just let the guy start in center, or at least platoon him? I'd like to see a CounsenKourt platoon as well. Perhaps if Counsell can't hold up for 100 starts they could just give him 80 starts against righties.

I'd much rather see Kotsay and Kottaras flipped, but I'll take it. One thing is for sure, it is fun to watch (or hear) our center fielders patrolling this season.

Yeah eventually but right now I think we need Morgan in RF. Is Morgan's arm strong enough for RF (I don't have any idea, I've just heard his arm is a bit weak)?
