  1. I totally agree with everything you've said here. Almost everything about life these days is about how I can I further insulate myself from other people. Or more likely just people I don't like because of whatever reasons I have. Lack of commute is often thrown around as the major benefit of remote work but the other one I hear almost as much is that I don't have to talked to/be bothered by other people in the office. Some people that works but not everyone. I didn't realize how much of a social person I was or needed it until I started staying home with my kids. After a few months I went crazy from it.
  2. When I started my job search 2 years ago I figured that, as someone who actually wanted to work on site, it would be pretty easy to find something. Unfortunately 95% of the jobs in my area are either manufacturing/manual labor or healthcare and I have zero experience/qualifications or interest in doing either of those things. I'm lucky to have gotten the job I have now but I almost certainly would have left by now if I could actually find something else.
  3. Some people have been trapped in their houses with 2 small children the last 7 years and want to work in an office just to be around adults other than their wife. Just saying...
  4. Most likely he gets hurt in Nashville before ever making it to Milwaukee.
  5. So all this amounts to basically nothing. None of these guys will be playing in the playoffs.
  6. I bet the guy who runs MLB's waiver department was looking forward to an easy coast to the end of the season. Then this happened.
  7. No. Those do not exist anymore.
  8. Are the character issues with him all about the "Jackie" dustup because I don't remember anything else.
  9. Totally agree on this. I doubt any of these guys make it to a team currently in a playoff spot. I wouldn't even be surprised if some trash team like Colorado claims one of these guys because, well, they have no idea what they're doing.
  10. Kyle Hendricks is always good for about 7 shutout innings and 10 K's against the Brewers.
  11. Which angle are we talking about here? Acute? Obtuse? Kurt? I guess I really don't see what the big deal is. None of these guys are real difference makers. Matt Moore is probably the best of the group and he's a reliever meaning over the next few weeks he could be lights out or total trash. I'm sure those players are glad to be getting away from that dumpster fire organization and into a playoff race anyway.
  12. There's still a solid month left for the offense to go cold at which point they'll be losing games 3-1 and 2-0 and getting listlessly swept out of the playoffs again.
  13. Which side of this deal was Stearns working on?
  14. I don't understand this at all.
  15. I definitely agree with this. I would not consider either of these guys to even be candidates.
  16. He's been a nice surprise but in what way is he a cult hero?
  17. I don't know. I would think when teams are trying to sign guys to long term mega deals the possibly of the player turning out to be a pedophile is probably not in the top 25 of their concerns.
  18. Man the new September callup rules are terrible. Yes, 40 was too many, not that any team actually had that many anyway. But only adding 2 players seems pointless. It was always fun to see some prospects get a couple at bats or speed or defense guys get into a game but now the guys that get called up are the same guys who've been riding the MLB/AAA shuttle all year so it really does nothing to help your roster.
  19. Yes but that part is really downplayed because it's not as attention grabbing as billionaire wants government handout.
  20. What's even more crazy is how I've seen multiple places the last few days about how awesome a story it is that he made it back to the majors after all these years. Apparently everyone missed that he already made it back to the majors earlier this year.
  21. 1-4 vs Colorado 1-2 vs Detroit 0-3 vs Oakland 1-2 vs Washington 3-11 vs that group is embarrassing. Even going .500 against them and the division lead is pretty comfortable right now.
  22. This feels like a classic Brewers game where the offense breaks out but their pitch hits the fan and they lose like 14-12.
  23. All throughout the Stearns years he would bring in hitters that would have career years and then some guys that played well below what was expected. The problem is the bargain basement shopping. When you're constantly filling out your roster with guys who are past their prime or coming off down or injured seasons you might luck into one of them putting up some good numbers but more often than not they're not going to be good.
  24. If this guy's totally making stuff up he's got way too much time on his hands.
