  1. Coffey could probably get something really nice in return and it wouldn't hurt the club too much this year or next. Bullpen arms are like gold this time of year.
  2. The team is in a really bad position to commit to a plan of action. They aren't bad enough and are too young/cheap to just outright blow it up but they aren't good enough to contend as is. Between the horrible defense and the stigma of Milwaukee no really really good FA pitcher will want to come here unless Mark gets desperate and secures the financial future of said pitcher's great grandchildren. Unfortunately as the team is right now that is what is needed the most.
  3. I was thinking I would like to see someone with a similar personality to Dwight but with ridiculousness to the Michael level. Everyone assumes that Dwight and the new guy will get along but even Dwight thinks he is too much. I just want to see Dwight play the same character and be the straight man.
  4. I've umped before and I hate it. I really like coaching. I enjoy working with kids and seeing them improve.
  5. Unemployed right now and not expecting that to change any time soon so I'm thinking of trying to find like a fall baseball league or some other sort of coaching gig that would last only for the fall/early winter. I've been an assistant high school varsity coach for three years now plus coaching summer league baseball so I've got experience. I would prefer paying gig but that's not a requirement. Does anyone know of anything like this? It doesn't have to be Wisconsin, in fact, I'd actually prefer it be somewhere nice and warm. I've done some Googling and can't really find anything but I assume someone here has some sort of connections that might know of something. Thanks!
  6. I wish they would have shown Macha doing nothing to protect Weeks or stand up for him after he got tossed.
  7. I'd rather watch a playoff game on TV at home anyway.
  8. Off topic but just wondering if you are referring to 107.5? The 30 minutes a day they don't spend talking about the Packers are the most unintelligible, uninformed, frustrating 30 minutes in sports talk.
  9. If they held everyone in suspense over whether or not he died I think that would be rather tacky. They would be profiting over a man's death. Yes they still are but instead of ending each episode with "Will he or won't he? Tune in next week!" they flat our told us from the start he died. Like someone said, this is a documentary, not really a reality series.
  10. If pitchers weren't babied so much this wouldn't be an issue. Even today 120 pitches isn't ridiculous, especially over 9 innings.
  11. I read that as Phil was dying he told them to keep filming because he wanted people to see what his lifestyle had did to him. If they leave that in there that will be tough to watch.
  12. This Tuesday is the episode where Phil has his stroke. For those keeping up with this season it's been real scary the way Phil has been talking about not being around much longer. I also have had a real problem believing some of the "reality" that's happened. Mainly early in the season when Phil and Sig traded Jakes mid-ocean. That was unbelievably stupid and dangerous.
  13. "When The Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin or "Whatever" by Our Lady of Peace. If you know why I would choose "Whatever" you would probably be disgusted.
  14. Fourthed. Although Marco Scutaro has been having a decent season.
  15. That is exactly how I got the ticket. I always set my cruise at 71 when I get on the Interstate. I just missed the 55 MPH sign and the "construction zone" was very much lacking in construction so it never occurred to me to slow down until I saw the lights behind me. Cruise is the best for the Interstate. I'll occasionally have to slow down for a semi or old person but it allows me to not worry about the speed and focus on the road.
  16. It's tough to drive the guys in front of you in when they are hitting a bunch of homeruns themselves.
  17. Perhaps the Brewers should start drafting players who can play the position they're listed at. Braun, LaPorta, Lawrie, Gamel, Hart, Weeks. All guys drafted for their bat who have either been moved or talked about being moved. Lawrie is the most frustrating because from what I've read his offense should be great at catcher and pretty good at second but average anywhere else. And this guy was our #1 pick. I know not all players are going to play the position they were drafted at or become what they are expected to but at some point Melvin and company need to start drafting players that can field their position because not everyone can play left field or first.
  18. Basically I only care about the insurance part. I know I screwed up. I told the officer that. He was nice enough to not double my fine so I'm thinking that showing up will not help me. Could they actually go ahead and still double it?
  19. I'm hesitant to fight it because a friend of mine got a ticket a couple of years ago and tried to fight it and after a couple of court dates the fine and points never changed. Another friend of mine got a ticket last year and just paid it and it never effected his insurance.
  20. I really don't care about the fine. Well I do, but I'm not worried about it. I'm worried that the points will effect my insurance. Here's what happened. I was on my way home from work on I43 with my cruise set at 71, where I always have it. There is sporadic construction most of my way home so I have kind of become immune to it all. I come up to a part that is technically a construction zone. There are only orange barrels. No cars, trucks, people, equipment and any other signs of construction other than orange barrels. I'm still set at cruise when I notice a cop in the barreled off area and it hits me that I'm suppose to be going 55. I step on the brakes lightly to avoid being obvious that I was speeding but he got me already and pulls me over. As he gives me the ticket he says that because I have a clean driving record he's not going to double the fine. $200 and 4 points. I really don't have any defense other than "I forgot" which I don't think will stand up in court but I'm wondering if because of my clean driving record and no criminal record if I could get the points reduced or if it will even matter on my insurance. I asked my friend who got a ticket last summer going 15 over if his insurance went up and he said it didn't so I'm not sure what to expect. I don't want to ask my insurance agent either because I could see them raising my rate once they know. Anyone have an answers?
  21. I saw the Brewers turn a triple play last year. Forgot when that game was but it was also the Fielder walk off explosion game.
  22. Are we watching the same team?
  23. I'm sure he's going to be good but he's a relief pitcher. Is this really all we have to get excited about?
  24. Maybe it's because I'm young and used to texting being a common way to communicate but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. It was a quick relationship and I don't think he wanted to deal with her face to face since they both knew what they were doing was wrong.
  25. My mind tells me that Fielder to Tampa for Hellickson and Pena would be fair but probably isn't. Pena and Fielder's salaries are about that same. Pena's a free agent at the end of the year too. I think Pena's defense would make up for his slight drop off in offense compared to Fielder. In essence the Rays would be trading Hellickson for a slight upgrade at first and one more guaranteed year of an All Star first baseman and the potential for more prospects. This is probably a slightly Brewers biased trade however.
