  1. I thought that was one of the least funny episodes of the entire series. I still love the show but the comedy is really only hit and miss lately. The characters are great and the storylines and interesting but the comedy is subpar.
  2. Unless they really screw it up, this should be the best WWE event in years. Instead of mentioning each match, with Chris Jericho being my man (hence the name) and Edge being all around great I think this will steal the show. I also think that after this match the Money in the Bank winner will cash in and win the title. Christian wins MITB and Edge wins the match. Christian beats Edge. Now we have both Edge and Jericho chasing after the title and a three way feud between them all. No matter how bad it turns out Bret Hart vs. Vince is a match that the entire wrestling world has wanted to see. I'm guessing that this match will be the end of the feud so the only logical ending is with Bret winning, perhaps with some help. Undertaker and HBK can only disappoint compared to last year and I would like to see HHH cost HBK the match. HHH vs. Shemus will be whatever the opposite of stealing the show is.
  3. Pretty sure they did it so they have payroll certainty so they can give Mauer the bank.
  4. I would be pulling for Durham, just for the history of the team, but would love to see them in Albuquerque or maybe Colorado Springs. Albuquerque because of the Simpsons and Colorado Springs because I love those elevation inflated numbers. Imagine what Doug could get for a non-prospect having a great year in the mountains.
  5. I thought he was already in the WWE Hall of Fame. Good for him.
  6. Until he gets used to it it's going to cause his arm to be slow and put more strain on the shoulder. Maybe Peterson is trying to get him hurt (blue font).
  7. I was at that game and have a couple nice high res shots of it. If you are interested send me a PM.
  8. I'm thinking the new baby will mean no more Pam for the rest of this season and the focus will turn to Andy and Erin with Dwight and Angela as a side story. Maybe a surprise appearance by Holly at some point too.
  9. I'll give the edge to Gomez and he's had more ML time (I think). However as long as neither of them puts up a 2009 Hardy-like season I won't be disappointed.
  10. I only sat there once when I got the tickets with a pretty huge discount. It was around the end of July so I was surrounded by scouts with radar guns, we were sitting next to the Giants scouts, which was neat. The seats were nice but I wouldn't pay full price for them.
  11. I never saw the full version of that Aquafina commercial before.
  12. Gallardo would have been shut down well before the end of the season and may not have pitched in the playoffs at all. So I don't think it's as easy as if Gallardo gets hurt we don't trade for Sabathia. Melvin probably would have traded for a lesser starting pitcher (Wolf perhaps) to make up for Gallardo's lost innings at the end of the year.
  13. If we draft Heyward I don't think we trade him for C.C. So no C.C. but we still have Heyward. It seems like a tough call for me but in the long wrong I probably would prefer 5-6 years of Heyward vs. 6 months of C.C., playoffs or not.
  14. Who were the other two guys on the bench? It looked like Jimmy Rollins and someone else.
  15. We'd be talking about who do we trade Verlander, Prince or both. I imagine the haul we could get for Verlander would be much better than Fielder. We'd probably have to trade both though. Also we probably don't trade for Sabathia, Matt Holliday instead perhaps.
  16. Moving from Yankee Stadium to Comerica Park and being a year older is going to kill his offense. His defense is terrible and his arm is worse. It's only one year but still an overpay that makes no sense at all.
  17. I'd guess it started out that teams were afraid older players wouldn't be good anymore because of lack of steroids but it has now moved into a necessity because of the economy. Young players are cheap and every team except the Yankees has focused more attention on them.
  18. Agreed. I would love to see what Doug could do with some money. Must suck to be an Astros fan.
  19. A lot of people are concerned about his foot movement but there are Major Leagues who do it, one of the Uptons does. I wouldn't worry about it to much. If the guy has the ability to crush the ball something like that can be tweaked and not hurt him.
  20. I did some re-figuring using the new equation. Using the league totals I came up with 189.72 RC. How do I figure RAA?
  21. Thanks for the help. I'll plug that equation in when I get home tonight and see what the difference is from using the simple formula. Not sure if this would make a difference but there are 7 teams with a roster of about 15 each. There is no way to tell what the size of the total talent pool would be.
  22. If there was a limit to what the Yankees could spend on the major league team imagine what they would put into their minor league system. The price of international free agents, good scouts, good minor league coaches, and high draft picks would skyrocket. This would cripple any small market teams since the only way they can compete is to develop their own players. The answer isn't as simple is a salary cap (and floor). There needs to be a major overhaul of the whole baseball economic system if you want to level the playing field.
  23. I love the show and feel terrible for the family and crew... however, as morbid as it sounds I am really interested in seeing the reactions of the rest of the crews. Jake's sister died last year while he was out and it hit the crew of the Northwestern really hard, but Phil is well-known and respected among the whole fleet and I'm interested to see how each crew handles it.
  24. I think the biggest reason for parity in the NFL is because of injuries. Injuries are frequent and I don't think that NFL teams have the depth that you do in baseball. Good quality QB and O Linemen are few and far between and if you lose one it really hurts your team. Heck, if you lose your starting QB you've pretty much lost the season. The playoff teams are usually the healthiest.
