  1. Actually, he had a quote out there not too long ago, along the lines of, "If there's a fight, I'll be right in there." Macha is a black belt, so you never know.Part of being a ninja is to only use your powers for good. I would know, I'm a (jerichoholic) ninja.
  2. A few points of awesome to bring up. Notice the last two pitchers from the bullpen to make it to home, one Cardinal and one Red, the Cardinal looks like he's about to go at the Red but then stops and they both laugh. Dusty Baker jawing with LaRussa was great but then when he starts yelling at Carpenter was even better. Rolen decides to go after Carpenter and send the whole thing to another level, he probably had some words from when they were teammates. I believe it was Cueto gets pinned between the mob and stands and has to kick his way out at the end. Without turning this into a Macha bashing thread I wonder what he would have been doing has the Brewers been one of the teams? Probably standing in the dugout with his arms folded.
  3. I think the fact that Macha has been pretty vocal about it says that it's not overblown. He seems to think there is something behind it and Macha is never a guy to say anything of substance so this tells me that at least the Brewers so it as a problem. Let's also not forget that there is a difference between being grazed by an inside fastball or plunked by bad curveball and getting hit in the head. In just the last few weeks Rickie and Gomez have been hit in the head and Prince had one thrown over his head and was then drilled on the next pitch. Also, in Tuesday game how many Brewers had to get their head out of the way of a close pitch to their face? I remember at least 3 instances in that one game. Major league pitchers should have better control than that but this is the Cubs we are talking about.
  4. At this point why not? I drafted Weeks in one of my leagues expecting a half season of ok offense and lots of SB. So far I'm wrong. I'll agree that stolen bases are a little impractical but when you have the guys to do it, you do it.
  5. Whether it is the correct way or not, Macha is approaching this whole situation in a way it never has been before. He will either open the eyes of the players, league and union and be hailed as revolutionary that "cleaned up" the game or more than likely continue to get his batters hit and pitchers ejected while looking like a whiny whimp. The next time Prince gets one up around the head he needs to go to whoever is pitching demand retaliation or he will charge his own mound.
  6. I still have yet to understand how this team is cocky. Braun and Fielder take one step to watch a homerun and then run around the bases. I don't know how that's different that what every other baseball player does. As for the celebrations, they are TEAM celebrations that were fun to watch. It's not like Prince was slapping every infielder in the face as he rounded the bases. It's not like they made a big show about untucking their jerseys AFTER the game was over. This team has had some veterans that have been around for a while (Counsel, Cameron, Suppan, Hoffman) who would have put a stop to anything if it was disrespecting the game, but they didn't. They participated in it. If there was anyone on the team that gives off a sense of cockiness it's Braun. But he isn't the one getting hit the most.
  7. These two are debatable. Parra hit him in the leg on I believe a curveball and Glaus had his jersey grazed by a two seam fastball.
  8. Last night Josh Beckett his two Cleveland Indians. Cleveland retaliated and hit two Red Sox batters. The second Red Sox, Adrian Beltre, charged the mound. Ken Macha needs to just realize that this is the way it works. It may not be right but it's the way it works. I'd have to guess that both pitchers in the CLE/BOS game tonight are going to think twice about coming inside just in case they accidentally hit someone. If you want opposing pitchers to stop pitching inside and hitting your batters do something about it instead of crying to MLB who has shown they will do nothing about it.
  9. I don't see any reason the Marlins would want McGehee now. If they were buyer maybe, but not now.
  10. Eventually everyone will be in spring ball. Kids just cannot commit to summer ball anymore. I can't remember which one but one school's summer ball team folded in the middle of the season because the kids couldn't commit to playing anymore games.
  11. If Prince gets into the Hall of Fame it will almost certainly not be as a Brewer.
  12. I'm 0-I have no idea in getting interviews in my field and 2-even more than that in getting interviews at all. It's probably not you.
  13. Was just reading on MLB Trade Rumors that a deal with the White Sox won't happen unless Gordan Beckham is included. I'm sure Gordan will be a good player, but we need pitching. Trading Fielder for Beckham would do nothing to address the weaknesses of the team. I hope that is all talk coming from Chicago and Doug knows better.
  14. I'm guessing Strasburg won it before the season even began. How can we believe the voters (baseball writers) are going to do something like look at stats to pick a winner.
  15. I would love to see Mark Cuban rub elbows with all the old fogey owners of MLB.
  16. Macha shouldn't have to tell his pitchers to protect his batters. If things are getting out of hand the pitchers need to it themselves. Either they are not, or Macha is telling them not to. Prince should have told Manny before the game that someone better be walking to first rubbing their back.
  17. Somebody needs to do something. MLB will almost never do anything if there is no retaliation. People often say that someone will get hurt getting hit or in a brawl. The last injury I can remember from a beanball war was when Piazza got hit by Clemens. Kendry Morales got hurt jumping onto home plate and players get injured more often sneezing than in any sort of a bean ball war. Ken can complain all he wants but no one is going to take notice until Brewer pitchers start hitting guys back.
  18. If Parra doesn't hit anyone early will Prince go Prince on him in the dugout and lead this team to the playoffs again?
  19. Hopefully Heyward, McCann or Jones takes one of those tomorrow.
  20. Around Two Rivers the Lake is pretty clean and the beaches are groomed frequently.
  21. This probably won't get read but referring to All-Stars changing leagues before the All Star game when Carlos Beltran was traded from Kansas City to Houston he was selected for KC but played for the NL representing Houston.
  22. Didn't Doug do the same thing to them with Cameron two years ago? Too bad Yankees. Grow up and move on.
  23. If it wasn't for the fact that Jay has a show that lacks both entertainment and comedy and Jay did not want to leave maybe I couldn't blame him. It is not all his fault but he very much is to blame.
  24. If they would show the game live like I believe they do in Atlanta I would really be interested. Otherwise I'm only mildly interested.
