  1. If nobody claims him I would think the Brewers would still be interested in signing him for somewhere around $3M or less.
  2. From a die-hard "tv-fan" from northern WI who doesn't go to a lot of games I think it would be fun to share an MLB team with...oh.....say...Nashville. Give them 33% of our home games, MKE can take 33% of the Sounds home games...give us 100% of the Tennessee TV market and lets go sign Juan Soto and Alex Bregman!!
  3. 5 seed last year. 3 seed conference champs 3 years ago...Which is top 20 and top 12 entering the Tourney by definition. UW hasn't made a Tourney run in awhile. Any other critique and people either don't pay attention to UW or don't pay attention to the normal up-and-down nature of EVERY PROGRAM IN THE COUNTRY bar none. Which is true I suppose. Regular season CBB is a rather niche sport. I love it though.
  4. I was wrong...Baty has option years left. Vientos is out of options. Still, I don't think he is worth much. Maybe Tyler Black?
  5. I've noticed dozens of time this year where Adames defers to Turang to make a "more difficult" play up the middle...but not for Bryce. Most times the 2B defers to the SS on plays up the middle but not this years Brewers. Kudos to all, coaches, Turang and probably most of all Adames.
  6. Yep. It's all very subjective. Although I think his case for best reliever in baseball is better than...everybody else's. But he is certainly in the argument and anybody who doesn't mention him as a candidate would have a larger stretch to make than one who puts him in the conversation...thus not a stretch at all.
  7. If we were looking at an okay-ish development/re-building team I'd say this is worth the risk, but Baty has had 600 MLB PAs of horrible-ness and no options left. I have no idea what his defense or baserunning is, but this team shouldn't be patient enough to wait for Baty to figure it out at the MLB level. He's gotta go to Miami or Chi Sox or something to try to get it back.
  8. The problem with this is that the comp pick we get for Devin if we keep him is about the same as your options 3 and 4...so...keep the best reliever in baseball for reasonable price AND get that option...or save $10 million for a $20 M value player when the budget shouldn't really be squeezed...give me the former.
  9. Also, to put a bow on this as it is part of the FAQs for this sort of thing- -A player is eligible for arbitration once 3 yrs of MLB service time is reached OR is among the top 22% of players with between 2 and 3 years of service time (thus is a "super-2" and arbitration eligible). -A team has 3 "option years" in which to send a player back to the minors. Once 20 days are spent in the minors for that year, that option year is used up (although the player can still be sent back and forth multiple times that year--thus it is an option "year"). -A player can decline being optioned once 5 years of MLB service time is accrued. -A player is granted free agency after the season once he accrues 6 years of MLB service time. -172 days is considered one year of MLB service, although there are usually something like 186 calendar days from opening day till the last day of the regular season.
  10. Non-tender Bauers and go get Brandon Lowe and Paul DeJong. Somehow, those guys could/should easily replace Adames' IF power and shouldn't cost too much.
  11. I like the the idea of trading Williams for another GOOD player with an expiring contract at a position of need (3b), or packaging Williams in order to up the value of the return (trying to get a Westburg from the Orioles). Otherwise, I just don't see the point, and would rather just keep him to further the dominance of our bullpen and get the comp pick.
  12. I think that McGee and Gilmore are going to play A LOT early in the season, and there will be a lot of frustration because their offense isn't great. But they know the rules, play defense, and take care of the ball. I just don't see more than 1 of the newcomers being on the floor at the same time until January rolls around. Anything can happen this year--but I'll be disappointed if they miss the Tourney.
  13. This is probably true. In order for this to happen effectively you have to have lots of guys with options or count on injuries *wink* at just-the-right-time. Civale, Rea, Payamps, Mears, Milner, Wilson, and Bukauskas are out of options (or have enough service time to decline to be optioned). I'd guess that Civale, Rea and Payamps are the only ones to make it to opening day, and only one will still be in the organization at the ASB (or will be hurt). That still leaves plenty of arms to go around. I doubt that money is spent on the issue unless it's petty cash.
  14. Does Fubo have TNT/TBS? It didn't last time I looked, which sucks (March Madness, NBA, MLB playoffs)
  15. Maybe. Or maybe we only get 80% of the games televised....and MLB will STILL blackout the locals from visitor mlb.tv feeds. Who knows.
  16. If this were a real-life scenario that had real world consequences, you are correct. However, needlessly ADDING anxiety toward a time diversion/trivial hobby like sports fandom is not fun at all. However, anybody who is a baseball fan clearly LOVES needless anxiety, as playoff baseball is basically a panic attack divided into 9 innings.
  17. If a fair wheel numbered 1 thru 20 is spun, there is a 100% chance that it will land on a number that only had a 5% chance of being landed on.
  18. I think he was out...did you see how he pulled his mitt hand up to his shoulder after the slide, as if he was tagged there but was trying (badly) to hide it?
  19. It worked for 5 minutes. broke again for me. I reset my password...now it won't even let me sign in.
  20. Anybody else having issues with the Bally's app/webpage?
  21. He gone soon. I thank him for his past service/larg-ish salary for normal working man.
  22. I guess Longo loved our short yardage shotgun results last year so much he decided to try it again...shameful at UW.
